Huawei Honor 5x / Gr5 bricked? - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was trying to flash a custom rom on my huawei gr5 (The canadian version of the honour 5x, I think) and forgot to back it up before doing that. It failed to install and now I don't have an os to boot to. I can still boot to the huawei eRecovery (which doesnt work to restore my device), twrp, and download mode. I have an UPDATE.APP downloaded for my phone but I cant seem to find a way to install it on my phone. Im supposed to hold Volume Up + Volume Down + Power to boot into some mode that will allow me to install it but that just opens up TWRP.
Some help would be very appreciated.
EDIT:
I got lineageos 14.1 for the Honour 5x, edited the build script to install on my phone, and installed it. Fixed everything.

thx for letting the N7 owners know..

You can try booting to FTM mode by powering off your device, press and hold your volume down and power button till you get in FTM mode, then your computer should detect it. From there, you could install TWRP by following the instructions on https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/how-to/guide-install-twrp-unlock-bl-flash-t3517379. Once you installed TWRP, you could install the bootstack and stock system of the version you want at https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=112651. Been through the same thing when I tried upgrading my A2017G to nougat, and I thought I was f*cked till I remembered you could boot your device to FTM mode XD

Huawei P9 Lite Brick I Need Help

Hi guys,
Yesterday, I unlocked my Huawei P9 Lite with the given code from EMUI, then I installed TWRP (twrp-3.1.1-0-venus.img) and installed SuperSU. All went okay, i managed to delete useless system app, but I realized i did not pass Safetynet Check anymore (and since i'm a PoGo fan..), so I uninstalled SuperSU and tried with Magisk, same issue. I uninstalled both, and couldn't get back the clean safetynet check.
There, I tried to install a official ROM for VNS-L31 xxxx361, but I did it wrong and the whole thing crashed. Now i'm left with no OS, phone is bootlooping for ever. The only things I can access if TWRP and Fastboot mode. I tried to flash img from a huawei release, but i get this error that scare everyone i asked about : remote : sparse flash write failure.
I've no idea how to not trash my phone and go grab another one if I ever want to make a phone call again!
Please help!!
Kindly,
Antonin
I had similar problem but I had no recovery just eRecovery and fastboot (which didnt let me flash anything).
Download FULL rom from:
hwmt.ru/oth/HWFF/info/view.php?find_model=VNS
(sorry cant post links)
Make sure u choose right model and location.
Extract the update.app and put it on sdcard in folder named dload, insert that sdcard into the phone.
Boot to erecovery and shut down the phone from there, then turn on the phone with both volume buttons pressed and wait till the rom will be installed.
If you didnt success to boot with vol + and vol -, try to press power wait for vibration and quickly press both volume buttons and hold.

Help to get past eRecovery

Hi all, i was on EliteRom v7.7 and i tried to flash alpha version on Meticulus oreo Resurection Remix, and by doing so first i flashed recovery from his site using flashify, and before that i backup recovery for EliteRom. When i tried to go to recovery i got eRecovery. I thought no big deal, happened me before, so i turn off phone and hold volume up plus power button, but only to get message your device is unlocked and can not be trusted. So my only option is to go to eRecovery again, i cant use adb.
Can someone help me, i read about dload and update app but i dont understand what are those, and what is my next step from here, please help. Thanks
What is your phones model number?

Cannot start into recovery ALE-L21, DualSIM

Hej,
I recently got hands on my sister's old phone which had a broken touchscreen - I fixed that hardware issue, but now it seems I messed up the software?
1.) It's a P8 lite (2015, ALE-L21) DualSIM, which ran the latest OTA update (I think 4.0.3 or 4.1.3? EMUI)
2.) I followed this method to unlock the bootloader
(https://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/general/alternative-method-unlocking-bootloader-t3799294)
3.) that included a rollback to B170 (Android 5, EMUI 3) and rooting with KingRoot
4.) I planned on flashing TWRP, but the phone did not start into the newly flashed recovery, but into the Huawei eRecovery
5.) So I assume that it reinstalls the original recovery upon reboot, I tried to flash twrp again, but whenever I use the button combo (Volume Up+Power)
--> it does show me the red Huawei logo, but afterwards the phone is "on, but unresponsive",
having a dark screen, but the vibrating motor works whenever I touch the bottom row of the screen (where usually the navigation buttons are)
6.) Then I told myself, if I cannot flash twrp, I'd at least try to at least get the latest firmware (B620) installed again,
but neither the local update option nor using the buttom combo for dload works,
instead it has the same issue as described in 5.), going through the restart sequence with the huawei logo, but then being dark with vibrations
Did anyone have similar issues (see especiall point 5) and can help me out?
It's in a state of kinda working (having a usuable, but old firmware), but the restarting seems to wrong and everything that needs a restart (going into recovery, installing local dload update) seems to be messed up
I got it working somehow,
the twrp recovery I used might have been bad, so instead I used the one in the LineageOS14 thread.
When I tried to dload with the *#*#2846579#*#* sign combination, it finally started int TWRP
Flashed latest firmware, did backup (just to be safe this time...)
and now am using AOSPA without the issues described in 5.)

Huawei Mediapad M3 Lite 10 (BAH-W09) Bootloop

Hi there,
I got a problem with updating my M3 Lite: First I unlocked the bootloader, installed TWRP 3.2.0-0 and then lineage-16.0-20191112-UNOFFICIAL-bach.zip without Gapps. Booted into Lineage and everything went fine.
After that I installed via TWRP version 3.3.1-0 of TWRP and rebooted into TWRP. Then I reset the M3 and installed via Fastboot TWRP 3.3.1-3 and tried to reboot into TWRP but had no luck. Now I'm stuck with the screen saying "Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted". Wether I try to boot with holding Volume Up or Volume Down, I always got back to that screen. Unfortunatly I can't even get into Fastboot mode.
Did I brick my M3 Lite or has somebody a clue how to fix that bootloop?
same problem here
Same here, would love to hear if anyone has any info on this!
Hi !
If you can't put your device in TWRP, I guess that there's is no way to recover your device. Unfortunately it happens also to me with two different Huawei devices ... I fixed my devices after I googled about unbrick Huawei tools, there's 2 or more tools which are able to fix your device, but unfortunately they are not free.
Bring them to Huawei's service center
