I'm tryin to set up my macbook as a media receiver so i can stream videos from my phone to the screen on my laptop but i've been unsuccessful. laptops are set up for media serving out of the box now a days. i dont have a dnla tv or anything. nor is my xbox wifi. i've used it on a friends ps3 but was unable to use the beam option as my phone didnt read his ps3. his ps3 read my phone and he just d/l the movie onto his ps3.
i'm just wondering if any1 is or has an idea to stream video to a laptop from a phone.
Well, AFAIK, it's all in the software. On a PC at least, you need to have some sort of media player running and in the foreground. For instance, Windows Media Player and XBMC are DLNA-aware apps. I'm not familiar with what media players have such clients built in on the OSX platform.
RAWR! Please post question in Q&A section. Thank you
Out of curiosity, I just tried this. It works fine. Music, Pictures, and videos work perfect. I'm using windows 7 ultimate. Media share found my laptop right away.
Hey all,
Im using Twonky on mT4G to access my Buffalo Network Media server via WiFi in my home, and it is able to see all of my content.
However, it is not playing my movies.
If I use GMote to access my files (which streams via PC to phone) then I am able to view my movie files when using vPlayer as the video player.
My question is, can I use vPlayer instead of the Twonky media player to watch my movies from the Screen Share browser? If not, is there some other app (maybe a file browser?) that will let me browse and play the files on my Media Server, without needing to have my PC on?
Thanks!
On my laptops (win 7) i have the option to send media to my tv(which is also networked)
-right click
-send to (sony bravia)
-enjoy on tv
Is there a way i can achieve the same with my Transformer?
Thanks in advance
Use DLNA? Go to the Mynet app and turn on the TF as a media server. If your TV is compatible with DLNA or Upnp you should be able to connect to it. Or perhaps use any Upnp player (xbox/ps3/boxee...) connected to your TV to use it.
I use (and love) VLC.
VLC on computer with HDMI cable to TV + VLC Remote (android app) lets me sit back on the couch and browse all of my networked media and fully control what plays on the TV from the transformer.
I wouldn't want to play stuff from the transformer directly because it's a little weak at decoding HD content and I don't want to run handbrake on everything
All,
I would like the ability to mirror my Nexus 7 desktop to my TV via PS3. What I'm trying to accomplish is to be able to stream web videos found on sites to my TV via PS3 or Apple TV. I know there are apps that stream media on the tablet already, but again, I want to be able to stream web content.
Thanks!
