Hi. I am using this zip to flash Stock ROM and lock bootloader.
But when I run the "fastboot oem lock" command after running all the commands, I get the error: "Still require signed boot.img".
And the bootloader is not locked.
Please help me out.
What reasons are there for wanting to relock? have you decided to go back to stock and can't use android pay etc?

ah right, In that case I can't help as I'm in the same situation, can't relock however I am keeping my device, I was going to suggest Magisk to hide root etc but obviously not what you're looking for now

After fastboot oem lock
Flash boot , oem and all system images then again type fastboot oem lock.
It works for me..
Just so you know, relocking the bootloder does not restore the warranty. You need to let the person you are selling it to know that the warranty is still void. Lenovo keeps track of devices that were unlocked, so even relocking it will not revalidate the warranty.

Possibly. Unsure if it is voided upon simply requesting the code or only after actually unlocking it, but it is definitely voided upon a successful unlock.

Sure, I will let them know. But locking can still benefit if the service center guy only checks for bootloader unlock status.

Hi Everyone i got a Quite new Nexus 4.
Im tired of waiting for the OTA and decided to move on to flash in the Factory Images.
As ive been reading on alot of places it says it ruins my warranty. but according to the EU Directives it does not ruin my Hardware Warranty.
So what would you do? would you open the bootloader flash in 4.4 and lock the bootloader. is there anyway the Serviceman can see that only the bootloader been opened if i lock it directly afterwards?

Not sure what you mean about the bootloader. Yes u can unlock and lock the bootloader. After you lock it back; no there is not to tell if it was unlocked. If you want to upgrade to 4.4; follow this guide.

I mean People have had trouble when they have been at a Official Servicecenter.
Apparently the servicecenter said that the customer have had a open bootloader then locked it before going to repair, so the Servicecenter refused to repair the phone.
I dont know if its a myth or not?
so its 100 % secure not damaging any hardware just unlocking the bootloader with nexus toolkit.

I don't know a damn thing about EU Directives. But, I've never heard of google refusing to honor a warranty on a Nexus because the bootloader was unlocked. That's kind of expected on a Nexus, and that's why google makes it so easy to do. It's not like other phones that need to utilize some exploit to do it. There is very little that can go wrong. And it can almost always be fixed by flashing another factory image again.
If it was me, I would have unlocked the bootloader the day I bought it, because unlocking it will wipe your data now. There is no way around that. But if I were you, yes I would unlock it and install whatever you want to. Locking it up again is an option. But if you want to unlock again later, you will have to wipe data, again.

I do wipes from time to time to keep the phone fresh so thats noo worries at all for me.
so for me its just getting toolkit, open bootloader, flash 4.4 then lock the bootloader no harm done?

I also don't know anything about toolkits, I use linux and adb/fastboot (nerd).
But yes, unlock booloader, flash the new factory images, and relock it again if you want. Like I said, unlocking a Nexus is not some taboo process to google. Simply unlocking it won't void your warranty.
They only way you can void your warranty is abuse (dropping it, getting it wet, etc) , or installing BAD software that causes the hardware to malfunction. If you are installing google's factory images, you have nothing to worry about.

^, they tried to screw with me, but as i know lg here in brasil, i carried a book of "consumers defense code", i showed them the link,and the guy from the service center had to get my n4 and fix for no fee (my screen was broken, and no touch, but the screen broke because of overheating).

If you unlock the bootloader using the unofficial method, you could always relock the bootloader before sending it on warranty (depending on how broken it is)

Well that's what I'm assuming, but I don't know if there is some kind of permanent bit like uh Samsung Knox that can tell them it was unlocked at one point.

On a bootloader unlocked device, boot into the stock recovery, select the bootloader option.
Look at the last entry - device state. On a virgin phone it says locked. I'd expect it to say something else if the BL is unlocked. Further, does relocking bring it back to locked state, or something else. If something else, then it would seem they can check if the BL was unlocked.
I haven't had time to mess with mine, will be this weekend's project.

I Asked this in one of the other unlocking topics before.
When it's locked, it says "locked".
When it's unlocked, it says "unlocked".
When the bootloader has been re-locked, it says "locked" again.
Besides this and having submitted for the official bootloader unlock (when it was available), it's unknown if there's any other way that ZTE can tell if you are/have been bootloader unlocked.

Valid point. Could be some hidden fuses that get tripped - like what samsung uses.
Highly unlikely that they can tell with the unofficial method.

I'm not 100% sure but I think there is nothing like Knox in the Axon 7.

Some buddy posted in my Kernel's thread that you should be able to do:
fastboot reboot oem-lock
But idk if this has some kind of sense and after unlocking BL your device is marked as non-appliable for warranty in Moto's database.

Don't, after unlock you lose the warranty, if you re-lock after, the bootloader status don't go back to when you buyed the device (In the same way it says unlocked in the bootloader, it also says that it has been relocked), so it's useless.

Yeah, you can't get your warranty back once you've unlocked the boot loader. The fastboot command mentioned above can be used to re-lock your boot loader but that won't bring back warranty of your device.

On other phones the command is "fastboot oem lock" but I'm not sure if it works with ASUS devices. It's worth a shot, although note that even if it does work your warranty will still be voided.

fastboot flashing unlock
fastboot flashing unlock_critical

I like old OnePlus brand/Carl Pei for that, Root Friendly
No Knox, No 169 hours Waiting Period or Forbidden Unloack Bootloader.
It's premature to say whether this will be possible or not, as the Phone(1) was released only 5 days ago.
But knowing Carl, I think that everything will be allowed on this smartphone so that it can be used by many people.
It will be a while before we have a custom recovery and therefore can develop around the Phone(1).
But the kernel is already available for developers which is a good sign.

Yes! Unlocking your phone will always wipe your data!
And No! if you want to unlock your phone, there is no way around the data wipe at the moment

You need to install Magisk (and also root your device) in order to install Universal safetynet fix module and ofc actually pass safetynet. Worked fine on my device.

If you have read my tuto with all the process and explanations , you would have seen this point that concerns your question:
12-Once you’re on the bootloader menu, you’ll now have to switch to using fastboot command to communicate with your device. To unlock the Nothing Phone 1’s bootloader, enter the following command: fastboot flashing unlock
In case you need to flash low-level firmware partitions like the bootloader images, you will have to execute another command afterwards: fastboot flashing unlock_critical

So as long as I flash ROMS i don't have to use that command. Only for modem.and so on.
