You sure? I just turned it on and another symbol popped of a whole battery with a recycling sign. Turned it back off and that one remained both times.
That symbol represents that the data saver is on.
Data saver prevents apps from accessing network in the background (when you are on mobile network, and not on Wifi), and saves you precious mobile data and battery. Go to quick settings and toggle the data saver switch if you want to turn it off.

so I am trying to improve battery life and realized my wifi is constantly show as on, I have llama turning it off during my commute and doubled checked it was off, yet in the battery graph it still shows on, is this ruining my battery life?

go into the main phone settings, wifi, wifi menu(three dots), advanced, then uncheck scanning always available. this will take care of your battery stats as showing wifi always on, and will help a little on battery.

Welcome guys I've problem with my note 3 the battery is good but when I check for the battery consumption diagram I see something wired and I don't know if it's bug in the system or in the diagram
The WiFi always on whatever I enable it or disable it (this issue since a bought the device)
Recently, the GPS started acting like WiFi and it's almost the whole time and I really enabled it today for just 5 mins
I have attached a screenshot to let you see it
Please tell me the issue source and any fix available

Might not be related, but do you have location logging in certain apps (facebook etc) enabled? And is Location settings set to WiFi and GPS? Because it sounds to me like something keeps using WiFi and GPS for something.
Go to settings>wifi, hit menu button on the bottom left and select advanced. Untick scanning always available... You can also change "wifi always on" too but I tend to leave it on....

Something weird started happening this morning. My 4gLTE symbol started showing up when I'm connected to WiFi. Before today I had not notice it and I think I would have. Usually the 4G symbol goes away when you are connected to WiFi... Anyone else have this or know how to fix it?
Always, always been there. Even with WiFi on. Annoying for sure, but it's always been that way.

Yep, it's definitely always been that way on 4.4, even on my S4. It's a "feature" of TouchWiz now.

It's a "feature" of Verizon and present on every Verizon phone for about a year. You won't see it on other carriers.

It has always been there on my phone. Retail VZW S5.
I'm running the lastest U firmware and for the life of me i can not get the screensaver to work while it charging? Any help would be appreciated.

Ether turn off always on display or let the screen time all the way out. The screen saver will not turn on if aod starts. That was my issue anyway. Good luck.
I have AOD turned off & let the screen timeout and let it sit and the screen saver never turned on?

I've been having this same problem! I'm currently running the U firmware on an att edge. When we go into screensaver settings, the "More" button isn't there, just "Preview". Therefore, we can't set the phone to use the screensaver while charging, its only set to do it while docked. Anybody know of any way to make that "More" button appear or perhaps another way to get into those particular settings?

I had that symbol on a custom ROM. It disappeared after a day, no idea what it was though, sorry!

That icon is lte connection its your mobile data at a much faster pace then 4g
Ok. If i turn off wifi the ymbol disappears but I have no data. So I have a problem with this rom maybe as only wifi works it would seem.
Ignore that last post. So this symbol is here whether I'm on wifi or 4g. It's huge. Don't like it! It's on as well as saying 4g.
Its the IMS logo. You can delete anything relating to IMS using titanium or any other program to remove it.
