Hi, I'm pretty new to Android after using apple devices so far - now with the new galaxy 8+.
But I dont like the samsung themes.
My brother has a honor 8/ P10 and i really like the Honor design language.
How an I put the theme/ Huawei system on my new phone?
I have already tried several launchers (Nova, Arrow, Emui, awesome icons,...) from the store, but that does not seem to work.
Do I need to root my phone and if so, where do I get the honor 8 lite theme from?
I appreciate any help...

Android N ROM for Huawei P9 just leaked and it looks awesome. I don't think that we'll receive 7.0 oficially, but we got a fairly active modding community. My question is, how possible it will be to port this (or P9 Lite's) ROM to our phone?

There's nothing We can do before Huawei releases the official version, because the API Level has changed and the propietary libraries that We have, are not compatible. Oh, and don't forget about the incomplete, non-functional kernel that they released for Marshmallow. Don't even try and wait for Huawei (if they ever release it)

Thats freaking amazing, I can't wait for EMUI 5.0 . Even though we've just recently received the Marshmallow update (which is amazing), im looking forward for the next update that may come in the future. Also if it really happens, I'm more than happy to keep support huawei and purchase huawei devices in the future.
I hope my P8 Lite gets the update. I k ow it's on the list but that doesn't mean for certain. Hope so.

in my opinion emui 5 and android 7 is just fine. sure there would be nice to have equalizer, but 3rd party apps do that for me(poweramp). theme is pretty much fine but dark mode would be nice (could be added to developer options via OTA?). havent realized any bugs or battery draining on my L21. powersaving mode actually works (turns 10% slower atleast on antutu).

I think p9 lite will get android O (since it is a new device and shipped with nougat).
However, only time can tell us

you cannot port emui, its complicated and its not open sources to build either..
and in case of emui6, os will be based on android o , and for porting android o, so to port an android o rom, first you need a stable android o base (any other stable android o rom built for your device)
so, if emui6 not coming officially, just forget about it and do not expect, so you cannot be disappointed, because unofficial ways are nearly impossible
I think the hardware is the same so it should be possible to just change one or two things and flash it.

It's about the software here, as EMUI isn't open source like MIUI

Also, this O posts started.
So far i HATE the lite version of emui 3.1 that font option in themes was really my ? but this..... This is an all time low. My device is Huawei LUA-L13 also called Huawei Y3 2 / Y3 II

I think everyone is waiting for the oreo+treble update before trying to boot aosp on them. It would be a lot of unnecesary effort to port aosp if treble will make it a lot easier.

Yes but the 9 lite has Oreo out of the box, so the devs had something to work with.

Maimang 6 is also nova 2i and also honor 9i/mate 10 lite in some countries. here in Asia it's nova 2i.

I recently came into possession of an unlocked P10 Lite, which currently has EMUI 5.1.,1 build WAS-LX1C432B184 on it. I see a lot of posts about P10 Lite EMUI 8 and I was wondering whether this implies that any P10 Lite can get an EMUI 8 update or are there two P10 Lite models on the market with each having a different OS version? Neither the updater app on the phone nor HiSuite will offer me an upgrade to EMUI 8, so this confuses me a little.
Having that option would be nice, because there are some very nice-looking ROMs on this forum which I'm hoping to try out, but most of them have the prerequisite of already having EMUI 8.

If you have android 7 you can use HWOTA 7, of course for that you need an unlocked bootloader, there is no way around it.
