Is there anyway to change the stock galaxy s8 navbar to the ones in the Google Pixel. I do not want to use apps in Play Store. I want to modify it in the system, maybe it's like modifying the emoji fonts, i am not sure but can someone help me to make it possible?

Is there anyway to customize touchwiz?
I want to remove the dock (did a search and all i got was remove labels not the dock) and change the function of the soft keys
I know there are launchers like nova etc. but I really like touchwiz
I'm willing to try things as long as it doesn't result in a brick

Hi all,
I really want to use the Google Edition ROM on my i9505 - but a couple of things keep me on the bloaty Touchwiz ROM.
1) Touchwiz Camera
2) Touchwiz Video Player
There are other things, but if these 2 were working on Google Edition I would be there in a flash.
Does anyone know if these are working?
The other alternative is to get Google Now 'OK Google' working with my Nova Launcher .... but looks quite far off.
I recently updated to the S5 video player and that works perfectly on the S4.
Any help appreciated.
Many thanks.
I was in the same boat, would like a rom like cyanogenmod but I was to use features like gestures, air view etc and the camera app is way better than the stock app.
Anyway I installed Omega rom which is the same as the s4 stock rom with touchwiz but lets you deselect all the bloatware before installing, so I've got all the samsung features but without the crap. Also downloaded the google launcher which is nice
Thanks a lot. I've used the Omega ROM a while ago, but didn't think about it for this.
Does the Google Launchers allow you to change the grid layout on the home screen? I want 5 columns and 6 rows if possible.

You could use Nova, looks like the Google launcher but way more customisable (you can change the columns/rows), dont think there google now integration on the home screen though.
Another couple of options are to try the AOSP themed touchwiz roms. You can keep all the touch wiz features and have the vanilla android look. Or you can also dual boot a touchwiz rom and CM11 to get the best of both worlds.
Thanks.
I'm already using Nova ... even paid for the extras. What I really want is Touchwiz with the 'always on' OK Google command.
Hi guys...
I wanted to ask is it possible to change the screen density from 460 to 360 without looking weird? Because 460 is too big.
Thank you in advance
I'm not sure, but isn't it possible via build.prop? Though it might require editing certain applications to fix layout issues.
Isn't the default 480? Anyway, of course you can change it, but as always, you'll have to modify some of the stock apps to fit right
You can use any DPI changer app (like textdroider) or edit build.prop to modify your DPI. That will make your touchwiz interface look really wonky, the icons will be smaller, but only about half of the screen will be utilized. What you then can do is to install an alternative launcher like Nova to use instead of the Touchwiz launcher. Unfortunately that means you won't be able to use some Touchwiz features such as the S planner widget.
Another thing you could do is to download a modified touchwiz lollipop launcher here from XDA (under themes\apps). That won't change the DPI, but it will allow for more icons on each screen. These launchers might cause some issues when trying to resize widgets to fit properly on the screen.
Just download Apex or Nova. They allow you to change the size of everything in your launcher, from icons to text.
Yes you'll loose the S Planner widget functionality. There are plenty of replacement apps.
Changing the density will cause more problems than it solves. Try the easy route first.

Any idea how to enable round icons on Galaxy S8 like tbe ones on the Pixel? I do not want to use custom launcher. I have installed Pixel Launcher and Pixel launcher icons but still does not give me the round icons for many apps like Youtube, Play Store, Play Music, etc. I hope someone could help me out.
I use the app dives in the play store, but I do also use Nova Launcher.
I'm not sure if it works with the standard Samsung Experience interface.
Any reason for avoiding Nova Launcher? It straight up gives you full control over your user experience without losing the apps and benefits of stock Samsung stuff.
Hi guys, I've replaced my iP7 for Galaxy S8 and I'm super happy about it (design, screen, camera) but I have some questions about that Theme Store Samsung provides.
I know that I can change theme and icons from that store but can I apply icon packs from Google Play? If no, is there any other ways to make this device more stock?
I have already installed modded Pixel Launcher, some wallpapers, overlay for a navigation bar, Gboard and downloaded an app from Play Store called Material Notification Shade to make it look like Oreo (which does really well and doesn't lag or anything, thanks developer!).
Thanks in advance!

Of course you can, but if you install nova launcher you can even change each icon individually if you want.
