LG D802 snapchat not working - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello,
I have problem with my g2. on aosp extended rom I noticed that taking photos with flash on snapchat not working. flash lighting up , autofocus and no picture take, flash still ON, I can click photo button and nothing happens. I installed stock LP 5.0.2 v30d and its same, on kitkat too. Taking photos with normal camera app is working well. can someone explain me that problem? g2 is perfect phone for me, I love it but this is annoying.
sorry for my bad english.

It's obviously a bug in the app, wait and see if future updates will fix it, leave feedback to the devs.

[Q] Camera blacking out at every ROM ?! [No solution]

ok i had my X8 about a month ago and since then i tried every ROM that's out there literally. Recently i settled to froyobread for about 10 days and now floyo 0.25
my problem in both is the cam after taking a few shots, the camera screen black out or the cam button dies on me and i really hate it
i take a lot of pictures and i just hate it when the prefect shot gets lost because of a stupid glitch. i can give away EdgeGlow if there is a ROM that has a fully working cam with no bugs.
the reason for the thread is to ask u X8 users instead of going all over the ROMs again ( i still have them all ) to see the stable cam, Could anyone tell me what's the best ROM to take pictures with?? and please don't tell me to go back to Eclair (2.1)
thank u all

anyway i would never back to eclair so i'll have to deal with that bug for now.

like i said i tried all the ROMs but then i wasn't testing all the things but i remember ditching minicm because the power gadget looked like it lacked some colors or scaled up. i guess it's because of the screen size difference between X8 and X10 mini. however i remember the beautiful animations especially for boxes popping up.
just plz confirm that i can take like 10 shots in succession (say with 1 sec delay) without the cam bugging on me
Forget the stock camera apps and use Camera Illusion.
It´s better, doesn´t have errors and has great effects, like negative and that stuff.
I do experienced the same thing..
try other alternative. I'm using Camera Advance Lite, it works perfect.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.mnapps.cameraadvancelite
This is the same thing which happens with me. I tried using alternative camera apps like vignette but still the same problem.
After some shots, the camera just blacks out and you cannot take any pics after that until a reboot is made.

i'm having the very same problem after few shots is taken the camera just blacks out and the cam app needs to be restarted to make the camera work again and this problem was in every single custom rom i ever tried including the minicm and the froyobread i'm surprised that some of you actually DOESN'T experience this problem......

[Q] Crappy CM camera... what do you use for replacement?

Hi all,
I managed to keep stock ROM in my nexus for one whole week... but then I just couldn't help myself... had to flash something
So I went with official CM nightlies to begin with... but the camera app is really crappy... last night when taking pictures inside a restaurant with flash it failed miserably, the pictures were completely black... and I would also like to get photosphere back, it's a nice gimmick
So what do you guys use for camera? Is there a way to flash stock camera in a custom ROM? Any suggestions are welcome, thanks!!!

I tried Camera360 but I don't understand how to record video... nor how I can take a photosphere picture... it's only for regular pictures right?
The flashable zip, will it flash back the stock camera? Or is it a "patch" for CM's camera to enable photosphere?
Sorry for the newbish questions! Thanks!!

LG G2 Camera

The camera sucks. I know it has a Exmor RS sensor (a pretty neat hardware indeed). G2 performs well in outdoor shots. But indoors this phone sucks. Everything is perfect on the g2 but the camera is a really big problem. Does LG know about this issue? Always blurry even though there is light in the room. my old xperia s perform much better(camera) than g2. I hope that lg would release a fix soon or anyone here in xda can release a mod that can treat this issue. Issues like this should be fixed asap.
Hope someone here replies. BTW BTW I got this phone for a week now.

this is your response.
you just have to select the intelligent photo mode (intelligente aufnahme in deutsch).
the pictures will be a bit darker, but the sharpness increases a lot.

At least you need to habe a custom recovery installed. There are guides for this in the forum. Then you can make a nandroid backup of your whole system. After that you can simply flash xdabebbs camera mod from recovery. If you want to go back to stock camera simply flash your nandroid backup. If you even want to remove the custom recovery there is a guide for this too. It seems you are new to this so i suggest you do some reading. We can always hell but ultimatly you are responsible for your actions and it is always good to know what you are doing.

BTW do you experience this issue too? Is it a faulty hardware or a software related issue ?

So you use LG software to flash?
if you know how to root, installing a custom recovery is no problem.

explain what you mean with blurry!
If you looked at the 20 or so other threads on the same issue, you would see that a lot of people have the same complaints. BUT, it doesn't appear to be everyone. My phone takes amazing pictures both inside and out, and no matter the lighting. And you will see a lot of pictures in the other threads posted that are both great and crap. So it's either a lot of people don't know how to take a picture with a camera phone, or there are issues with the hardware in some cases.

[SOLUTION] How to fix 4.4 camera (for non-root users)

Hi everyone,
After few days of playing with the 4.4 firmware, I found out that the camera takes very long time to boot, and sometimes it says "Camera not available". But fear not, here's the solution for it, don't need to root your phone or switch back to 4.3 Jellybean.
1. Go to Settings > Apps > All.
2. Look for Camera, Camera common and Camera extension
3. Force stop and clear all the data.
That's it! You're good to go. I hope this helps a lot of people

Then I don't know how to fix already. It works on mine tho. Maybe it's because of firmware update instead of clean install? Maybe clean install don't have the bugs lol.

My camera works, but the start up time is too long, also focusing is not as fast as it used to be. I updated via pcc but in reality such problems are unacceptable for sony, with things not working for some, and working for others after updates.
Funny thing is I had the camera bug and after clearing data and etc it was Ok but I start getting the sound bug right after that weird...now I went back to 4.3 til the next update

I think i dont have the Bug becouse i wiped everything SD Card, Data, System and Cache/Dalvik Cache and i didnt restore a Backup i installed everything manually again on 4.4 so i guess thats why i dont have any bug at all. I saw someone writing about false Structure on SD Card and if you restore Backups, so this might be the tricky Part where Users get the bugs from.

True. This is how have to be done.
some issues, not so major ones though
white balance is messed up, getting a strange white light from nowhere on right side of image when in landscape.
Also, AR effect was hanging up when I clicked a photo before saving it. After the steps in this thread, that one issue is gone, but the main camera is too messed up. 4.2 was better.
till now I was against putting custom roms in my z1, but now, if a rom includes the z2 camera app in a stable config, then I am going for it.
I used the repair option, so far the camera opens normally now and no lag yet. I really don't want to reset my phone each time a new firmware comes out.

Camera is really slow

Hi. Has anyone experienced really slow camera performance with S3 Neo? Like you pressing shutter button in camera app and image is actually being taken 3-8 seconds after that?
I got this issue on CM12 and CM12.1, didn't tried other ROMs yet. I've tried different camera apps, Google Camera, OpenCamera and CM stock one. Each of those apps seems to be affected the same way. It works a bit better after reboot and cleaning camera app cache but I can't do that often. If someone can help me with this, I'd really appreciate. Thanks.
PS: I've tried camera fix from this forum but probably it's for some other issue as my camera stopped worked completely after applying fix and I had to re-flash ROM.
Camera fix is for devices that have a different camera sensor (there are two). So that's indeed not the right file. As for the camera speed, I'm not really sure. Mine is also really slow (cm12,1). I've come to live with it because i rarely use my camera anyway. I've tested some touchwiz based roms, and the camera was faster on those :/

OK, it seems like we're getting somewhere. Could it be CM issue? Maybe some other CM users can write a word about their camera app speed? I really like CM though, stock ROMs are overloaded with tons of software that is never used.
Nikola's CM have some issues with camera timing, and Motion based roms have laggy camera performance
Better to go with stock, because it uses the camera at the maximum performance.

Thanks! I'm currently testing CM based '[ROM][Stable][5.1.1][December 31]Resurrection Remix 5.5.9 - Final version' and it looks better. Need more testing though. Stock is too awful to use, I'd better live with slow camera, but maybe there's a solution.
Nope, Resurrection Remix is slow either, CM's curse. OK, I got it - fast camera OR fast ROM, no exceptions. Too bad, maybe CM13 will fix this?
Camera Quality is Poor
S3 original is better than this..

I've found 'lite' version of original firmware made by guys from 4PDA (link to original thread, sorry it's in russian).
It's 500 MB in archive and almost all Samsung stuff has been removed, so it's as clean and fast as possible. Camera works fine. In case someone else may need it, here's direct link.
Please note that I'm not the author of this firmware, not related to him in any way and not responsible for your flashing experience.
