Private Content vs Secure Folder? - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

Hi there
On my S6 I've used 'Private Content' mode for certain files and images and could access it easily when I wanted to send it in a message app to somebody or myself.
Now on the S8 it seems the "Private Content" mode is gone and replaced by "Secure Folder" entirely?
And it seems in order to send certain files from Secure Folder I have to first log into the Secure Folder and send files from there. I can't access it from a different app (with unlocking the contents/ files by Pin or Biometrics)?
And final question: When I transferred my files from S6 to S8 the contents/ files from "Private Mode" in S6 haven't been transferred to the S8.
What's the easiest way to send it to the Secure Folder without daisy chaining it too much?
Thanks

Answer 1: secure folder is the new private content and alsoincludes newer security features like unlocking before being able to send the file.
Answer 2: Just zip all your stuff then unzip it in the secure folder?

How to encrypt your files n the Honor 8

How to encrypt your files on the Honor 8On the Honor 8, there are several ways you can protect your files. Oe way is to use the built-in app lock app to set an access code for specific apps. The other way is to create an encrypted folder on your phone's local storage to hide your private files. Here is how you do it:
Create a Safe
First we will open the "files" app. Tap "safe" in the bottom right corner and setup a password and security question for your safe. This will create an encrypted empty folder on your system. To add files to this folder, open your safe and select "add".
Find Safe Location
Find the file path of your safe by opening your safe and selecting "safe location". This folder is hidden from standard file browsers so it's nice to know the direct path to your safe folder.
Switch Safe
You can create multiple safes and switch between them. To do this go to your safe settings and select "Switch Safe". Here you'll have the option to create a new safe or switch between the ones that you have.
Safe lock files
My phone model is honor 8x nad i have saved my datas in the in build safe lock. Now i dont remember the password as well as the security answers. And above that i cant decrypt that files too. Can you help me with that.?

No more private mode in gallery?

There used to be an option in the photo gallery to move photos to a private folder but that seems to be gone on the S8. I don't know if it has been gone since before the S8 came out because I haven't had a Samsung phone for a while.
Does anybody know if that option is available or can be put back?
The S8 contains Secure Folder, which is a hybrid between MyKnox and Private Mode.
Enable Secure Folder, access it and click the add files button on top. You will be able to select add images.

Secure Folder not secure?

Hi I just want to ask, I recently notice this since I decided to placed some pictures/videos of my device on the secure folder app of Samsung S8+ however I just notice that even if it is already hidden under secure folder, it still shows up on my phone's Gallery app. Is there any solution to this?
after you put the media files in secure folder, just delete from your galery

Yup. Anything moved to your secure folder needs to be deleted from your device afterwards (if you no longer want it there). Apps that you install directly while inside Secure Folder will only exist inside the Secure Folder.
Secure Folder is a sandbox. Things installed or downloaded while within SF stay there. For instance, install Chrome Dev and a file manager of your choice while in SF. Open SF Chrome, download a few images, then go into the SF file manager. The images you downloaded should be there. Now, leave SF and go to the file manager in the app drawer. Look everywhere for those images you just downloaded. You won't find them. This is because SF is sand boxed. It's basically an encrypted virtual machine running within Touchwiz. The only way to access it is through the Knox Framework.
This is why things moved into Secure Folder from Android remain in 2 places -- they're 2 different environments. The Knox encryption is then what stops you from moving things out of Secure Folder -- the decryption key isn't available in that direction. You can move apps from Secure Folder to your homescreens, but they're still Knox enabled. Try to share a photo in Secure Folder to a contact via SMS and observe how sparse the share sheet is.
Knox is pretty cool.
How can SF be in sandbox but showing contacts on the main contacts app can this be disabled ?
Yes can anyone explain this Secure folder ? Why are my ''secure'' contacts showing in normal contacts ?
I am experiencing the same thing... I don't understand why my "Secure" contacts are showing in my unsecured regular contacts app.
Could it be because of Google sync? If you are signed in with your Google account inside secure folder, contacts may get synced to Google and show up in regular contacts also.

Why can't I share pictures/videos inside Secure Folder on my Galaxy S10?

So I did a factory data reset, restored a saved backup I had on Secure Folder, now I cannot share any video or pictures from the gallery to any apps inside the secure folder. When I select what I want to share, the Share Via does not show any applications from my Secure Folder that I can share my picture and says "no apps can perform this action". Even when I'm inside an app on Secure Folder, and I try to add a picture or video, the same problem comes up.
Can anyone tell me how I can fix this? I have already done 3 factory reset hoping this gets fixed but I had no luck

Note that I have always been able to share pjctures/videos from the secure folder internally to any apps inside the secure folder with no issues.

Also, no open apps from the secure folder no longer show up on my recent apps
