Is there any chance to activate smart cover? I have an original flip cover and I would like to unloock/lock the phone when I open/close the cover.
I have not seen any smart cover on the market yet.

I think it's works only with China ROMS

I purchased a case that has the smart cover functionality. The manufacture emailed me stating that they are aware of an issue with the magnet causing it the N7 to go to sleep when you flip the cover so it's on the back of the device. They will rework the case to fix the issue, however, is it possible to disable the sleep function that is triggered from the smart cover? I'd be perfectly fine with just pressing the power button to sleep or power on the screen.
Remove the magnet from the case or put a piece steel between the case and back of the nexus.
If you have the poetic hard cover, thats what i had to do.

I purchased the MoKo Slim-fit case. I absolutely love it but I can't seem to find the magnet, I've been feeling for it, no luck.

Have you tried using the ol' paper clip trick? Can't be that hidden.
The magnet on the nexus 7 is on the left side about an inch up from the bottom left corner.
That should help you find where it is on the case.

You sir are a genius, I can't believe I didn't think of that.
With that being said, yesterday, I received the reworked case (I just received the original 2 days prior) and now there's no issue with the sleep. Really love this case now.
Is it possible to disable the sleep function by changing a system file?
I tried googling for "smart cover paper clip trick" but din find anything.
What is the paper clip trick??

Ah ok, so this trick is to find where the magnet is, I thought it was to fix this flip to the back triggering N7 to sleep issue.
Just wondering if there is any way to disable the "wake on magnet" feature?
The case I bought is a portfolio/book cover type, and when I fold the cover around to the back of the tablet, to read in portrait mode, the magnet in the cover shuts off my screen, through the back of the tablet.
So, any way to get rid of this "feature"?
Thanks

I'm sorry but I don't think it is possible to disable the magnet sensor. It's kind of like disabling a Graphics Card. It isn't really possible with an app without modifying the whole settings in the operating system. But I will say that it is weird having the magnet affect the sensor even though it is in the back? I really don't know about this. If I have an idea to help you for this I would tell you.
What is the name of your cover and when and where did you purchase it? This is a manufactures defect and they should replace your cover. This was very common when the "smart" covers first came out for the N7.
Of course you always have the opition of removing the magnet from the cover.

Thanks for all the replies.
That video is brilliant. Exactly my problem, and such a simple, invisible fix. Perfect!
Now, what can I take apart that has a steel shim in it...

Any idea where can I buy the steel shim ?
Maybe worth experimenting with aluminium foil to start with although that is not ferrous. Otherwise run around with a magnet looking for somthing to cut out thin shim

Same issue for me. I cut a steel shim from a simple pin button (circle badge). This pins are everywhere and they are made of steel. Works perfectly.
This xposed module does the job http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2621807

I read in the Note 2 forum that using flip covers that come with magnetic flaps interferes with the s-pen, gps.. Are they still present in the Note 3? I found a nice flip cover for Note3 but it comes with a magnetic flap. Having second thoughts about buying it because of the interference issues. Thanks for sharing your inputs about this.

You are correct. There is some type of interference where the magnetic field causes the screen not to recognize input in some areas. I just got a plastic and leather flip case with a button style snap.
Hope this helps!
Nice to know that the magnet causes interference. Will have to check out other flip covers for my Note 2.. Thanks a lot!

Well let me just input my two cents worth. I have a leather belt pouch with a magnetic button and I have not experienced any problem what so ever. On the other hand I place my phone with the screen facing my body.

I hope I didn't confuse you with my post.. I was talking about "flip cover that comes with magnetic flaps"... You're using "leather belt pouch with a magnetic button", is that the same as "flip cover with magnetic flaps"? Please correct me if I'm wrong, coz what I understand by "leather belt pouch" is it's strap in your waist and that's where you place your Note 3. But is the Note3 "attached" to your leather belt pouch or just place inside the pouch when your not using it? When you are using your Note3, do you still use it while inside your leather belt pouch or do you take it out from the pouch? Thanks for your input as it will greatly help us decide what case/protection we should choose for our Note 3..
Hey! I want to buy a chinese s view flip cover, but i need some recommendations. I want a flip with working s view and back cover included. Someone quality s view flip from ebay? The original is too expansive.
Thank you, i appreciate your recs.
i can not use my smart flip case cover and qi receiver at the same time.. (see picture )
there is one out of two pins on the back side that is common between both accessories.. is there any solution for this without buying the more expensive s-view charging flip cover???
this is the flip cover i have
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Wallet-Flip-Cover-Galaxy/dp/B00ITI23GO/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
There are QI receivers compatible with this flip cover. I tried one and it fits better with this flip cover than the standard no flip cover. This is the one I got: http://www.ebay.com/itm/390848355459
receiver
ok so this 3 pin qi receiver will not over lap with one of the pins of flip cover? this looks really cool.
also i think this seller does not ship to US.
edit: nevermind.. i found a seller who ships to us.. I hope this one works with my flip cover without any issues.
thanks for the input
