No, unfortunately
It's a pain to separate the glass from the LCD, you need dry ice, special glue to glue the new glass and a lot of experience. Just buy the full LCD and digitizer for 20-30 $ on Ebay.

Problem with display

Hi, I have a problem with the display of my HTC Touch!
I don't know what that is.
Look at the pics!
My warranty is until June 2009!

Looks like crack or water
Looks like you have water moisture in there... Did you ever drop any liquid on it or drop it in liquid? I would jsut screw the warranty and open it up to clean... But that's just me and I've already opened mine up like 30 times.
Is it possible that HTC repairs my Elf?
it's look like a fluid,, or glue where pasted the digitizer on the frame from the touch? glue? i have that too on my old se k700i :\

[Q] Screen replacement

Hey everyone,
I've ordered a defy screen digitizer, 2mm adhesive strip and a torx screwdriver set from Amazon, and they should be delivered this thursday.
Does anyone know of a GOOD quality guide (video or pictures please) for dismantling then re-assembling a Motorola Defy?
Preferably one for replacing the screen too..
I really don't want to mess this up
Thank you all so much, you've been a great help for the life of my device
For anyone interested, I've thrown my phone down a street and it was fine, then the moment I fall over at a house party - SMASH... Screen wrecked Not the LCD, just the gorilla glass
Sorted it, I just sort of guessed I apologise for the terrible quality webcam.

Cracked screen and a bad replacement

So I ordered a replacement screen finally, as i have been with a cracked screen for awhile now. New screen came in and i begin to disassemble my phone, and remove the old screen no problem. I get to install the new one, and fit it in, its a little tight and I put a slight amount of pressure and the new one cracks in the corner. I was pretty pissed. So I then noticed that there is no gap at all between the digitizer and the hole for the optical joystick.
It was a screen from Chuanbo Zhang on amazon, which has plenty of reviews.

Did i just get a badly made screen? or is this normal for most screens or is there some version of the Droid Inc that has no gap between those parts?
Should I still try and repair this phone after ive had it for so long? Or is it time to retire and go for something new.

Photo Opinion: Is this logic board or LCD failure?

This G2x suffered fall damage and now the image is heavily distorted. There is no visible signs of damage to the LCD.
It is also experiencing strange "burn-in" effects. E.g. the time on the lock screen remains faintly visible after unlocking and switching apps.
I dont want to purchase a new LCD if its the logic board.
I could really use an opinion from the XDA community wisdom! :fingers-crossed:
The crack is the Digitizer (broken after LCD issues arose)

Cheap hotplate for broken screen repair

Haven't seen it used anywhere before so thought I would post it up. Couldn't justify buying a hot plate for one screen repair, and heat guns just seem a bit temperamental.
...How can I heat my screen evenly to 100DegC and melt the LOCA???
Lightbulb moment - A double boiler!!
Big pot full of water with another empty pot sitting on top. Water can only boil at or around 100degC (depending on how far above sea level you are).
Worked great, nice and cheap and no chance of burning the LCD. Used a playing card to separate the glass from the LCD.
