Only In this vídeo, I take pictures with a Moto G3 2015 to help me do faster the content. To compare I will post a macro with my Z3c with Dusty Lens and Clean Leans, remember, I USE a Plastic Screen film cutted and paste in lens to better results. I used the back cover one because it's thin and clean. I will buy other one when i can. All the exif data are in host meta.

LAST: Comparsion with future iPhone 8
Thanks!
My apologise
My apologise, some thinks change and the final test don't will be done. A friend have a iPhone 7, maybe one day i test this phone.
Whats whong?
Greenify (the best one) don't works more like other times, like instagram rewind - saved the proportions of importance -, i don't find a racional explication to this... I don't know whats happens. In the past, in stand by, the power consuption was like 1% by week (lol), today, with all my force, trying hibernate system apps... nothing works. Today I have a 10%/day standbye power consumption... (g6 will eat). The apk wakeup tracking cutoff stops turns on in advanced settins.
Amplify stop find thinks too. Yes, I paid, it's cute, but not works more.
Maybe
maybe can have a relationship with the movie with 8 hours of screen time. I will be true: i don't use the bright of screen in lower setting by a period of time to do a video with this results. Guys, I don't say "that" smartphone don't be 8 hours of screen with the lower brith to see the screen in INDOOR, and the bests configs to battery (i lost this), only my method was cheater. And... I don't use my smartphone like a normal people. In the past, one cicle of battery works by tree days, 1 year of use to me was different to other peoples, and i don't tell about, many marketing.
But the configs was maded with love and i wanted share with the word.
My screen time today, without amplify, with a bugged greenify, etc... was 5 hous, with normal use, wifi and some gps to tinder, in the best of cases. =(
I had pisiquiatric problems in the end of reccordings. I see the LP with locked bootloader and if i
had not been traumatized, i would have tried.
My apologise if yu tried KK and the result was bad. It's only the best camera.
The z3c? one of the bests N64 maded in hystory.
25 in pressure test today, ok in water.
The Xforce test... Buy a old Z3c, a glass film, and the Bugdroid and test yourself. I know yu will be impressed!
Today I need a girlfriend. Was only a cell phone, today a normal "Smart"Phone... With a wonderfull minimalistc ui.
W8ing New
Sorry
Some modules are on my phone but I will not include it in videos because it needs more work to be 100%. These are:
Sequence to Unloock: Actual Stage, works well now, waiting to be aproved to do a vídeo.
Usefull to? Unlock screen after water contact/in water ( :cyclops: )
Exposed adictions: Works, but if yu don't use a bluetooth headset, yu will lost the back music function. The soluction is wait developers to add double click functions in module, besides long press and click.
If try use these two toguether, it does not get good too. I don't recommend.

W8ing New
W8ing New side door flaps to start the recs. I seal the secret hole - I will talk about that - with the same tape used in external plastic details fix. My HD broke after holding my laptop with my fingers in him. Now I'm reinstalling all. ****s happens... About ****, an issue in device: notification led burned. P2 work well. I found a Sony workshop and is possible repair this with wp resistance. Now, doing a negative pressure with my mouth, only the up door wasn't perfect in seal, and I both a new one to do all the tests with the device in best conditions possible.
Today pressure variation: 16mba
________________________
Update: all the device is perfect, obout:
Led light works perfect
Battery: now New (stocked with 1% for months)
Pressure variation: 30mba.
Thanks for PLL store Sony workshop, Igor and other guys to make me a brand new 5803, by a just price. I need to go there to give them 10 bucs, all my money was spended in this restauration, no, i'm not a rich guy, but tooday, after 3 5803 - yes, this device was maded in Brazil and solded by a low price - , I can tell to you a history with a perfect device, tested and aproved. Some thinks will happen... I'm instaling Pinnacle now - yes, i'm noob -, and afeter that, i will start editions.
PS: Now my device turns in an orange one!
_________________________________________________________________________________________
Guys, please tell me what yu think about the tests. I know, if yu use many networks and use a bit more the processor, the screens stay wake only for ~>5 hours with a new battery, but the test i do was maded with the best setup possible, without extreme mechanisms to cut or break the services to apps like tinder, snapchat or somethink like that don't stop works well. Today i block some persistents services with log of your activity to impruve privacity and screen time. Its fact, the fist test with a brand new battery and with the minimum number of services and apps dosen't be maded again, but I realy can tell to you, was impressive to me to, but today wasn't stay in the reality lass than 10% with full brith and yt 720P on wifi. With some lucky and cautions, yu can drain 12% of battery without ok google. About Ok google... Guys, we know i'm not a developer, but I realy love the work what yu do. The lucky patcher is only to remove adds on musixmash (sorry apk team, a little trick). All of the apks was paided. Continuous about "ok google".... In my device only works in google apk, because two things happens: i spend less battery and i don't have the wholy google's apk messenger all time i turn camera on with mic alert. If some one knows how stop this SH.... i will be very glad. I try some ways and nothing works how i would. In the greenify, i have some questions, only to ilustrate I put all the heviests apks on list. I know Smart ScreenBrigth can't be stopped or the smart call reciver with sensor dosen't woks, corect? I don't put this in video because I don't have totaly undestud the proprieties of some system apks to be better, like yu can see, i don't spend time telling about the apk lists because I realy think it's personal configuration, in the truth. But the hint to say google apk wake to "ok google" stay. About the WP test, lets do this together, because i do thath only with my experience, annd some problems and ticks can happens with yu and I will not know. If yu think I do a dangerous thing when I told it's ok put under water when we have 15 mba of delta in the pressure sensor, I can change the vídeo impruving the numbers in 5, better ? Today, with some strong, my delta stays in >40 without the ""secret hole"" - oh, it's realy important seal this, in my opinion, sony will burn ir hell by did this. AH! This week the instagram updated and puf, the rewind stops works... My tongue... Yes, it's only a apk isure, nothing my fault. They try tell to me: "try update the system...." ... ... "Buy a brand new A3 2017..." They don't knew, but I'm in a realy poor phase, with many debits latteds, and, in 1st, very happy with my KK, and i realy don't give a... to instagram freak. xD
About the next video, with the alloy screen film... I can tell now, don't use this. A device with a huge number of related problems in touch... Works? Works... Put the sony logo in demon ass.... Yes... But turns the touch less responsive and.... man... Yu need lucky with a glass film in this device, don't play with the lucky. If My happiness retuns, i puck the vídeo this week too.
The other accont with a comment in this post is my too, unfortantly I don't see and puf, it's happens.
I'm not very happy to do other vídeos, it's a little usefull to organize the content? Some one here? hello?
I do somethink whong? I'm wellcome in this forum?
Sorry if I'm not be convenient, i didn't wan't turn the job of someone smaller or somethink like.
I don't use google translate to do this text, and of course have many problems, I never travel to other countrie, and yu know, my inglish don't provide me good works to tell with you, but we are in XDA and i think it's easy to developers understud what I show in videos.
With love, a gladed Giuliano Viana, ReggaeRoots, Dragum, or somethink...
XDA make a wonderfull job.
Thanks.
PS: Sequence to unlock works well now, congrats to developer.
PS2: Maybe I will go to Ipanema Beach this weekend. Possible a good oportunity to display my method to use the Aries in salt water, without risc of oxidations in P2 connector.
Be carefull if try this, maybe all goes down...
I did a little rubbler part to prevent salt. In Watterfalls, don't need. In Pools? Don't need, but it's a good idea, if yu want stay relaxed. One time my P2 connector had poor contact in this device, and other time my notification led turns off, the same flat, i want this device more time with me, and thats is my rules.
Verify:
-Mics membrane (can be changed if used the WP tape streched)
-Secret Whole
-Doors
-Bugdroid
-Special designes Salt protection part.
-If yu have Money: ScohtGard in speakers membrane (i will not use this: Is solvent, needs special method).
-Silicon doors (i will not use by bugdroid)
-Plastic back screen film cutted to preserv camera lens. - i think the photos now are... BETTER ? 0.o
after salt water, a very good clean with "candy" normal water, special care with all, basicaly is this. I will go with 4L of water from my house and i think its suficient. After at nigth, if all works fine, a little more time under normal water to dissolve any salt can stay in there.
About my Android:
The fists recs are maded with a UK room, with possible to update by native android tool, but with problems after update... I'm studed and played a lot with the new device, in fists weed "mainly", today i chill because all works, and the battery drain stay perfect.
When I kill my HD, I lost my flashtools and my room, and i realy don't remember where i found this. "As I was in a hurry" by the channel, i do the easy way and picked the pre launch Brazillian press rom with an older flash tools (not perfect like i had, but work). I realy don't see diference bettwing the rersions, "perhaps" in ram manegement, but in use, the same experience. I will not spend more time triyng find my older UK setup because allways right and I like the "press!" room, but this is the históry. Other think a like in my room, when I go to software update, only shows: "your device stay in last version", I smille. My fist intenction was no flashs when the channel was maded, but to try some thinks; to compare somethinks, and to soluctions of my faults, I flash the device a half of a dozen times in the process.
IF some one quest....
Yes, I did instal the TWRP in pass, test some rooms, for curiosity, with my fist device....
Yes, I did instal the LP and MM... I remmember... When the lights turns on and the brigth was in a hanf.... "It's whong!"
Yes, in my device stay Perfect to me. And WP.
If someone comment, I give the hint to ennable "press to next" in wired headsets with poweramp when screen off, if google now disturb. xD
With HeadSet Controller blablabla, yu can play, pause, next, previous and change the volume - brilhant way, fast speed - AND one more action with Morse code in a sigle button. Today I'm trying the fast forward, but it's realy difficult to understand who it's works... Some times works... I don't use a lot, 4 clicks. Low speed. (((need automatization combo to manage the app! LPress Fully work w/ screen off, low battery demmand, if some one comment in this post I do a rec explain how I do the automation)))
Thanks!
Guys, I stay Stressed, sorry. I'm editing a rec now.
Some times happines comming. After give up 5 functions, i try again today and... For fisrt time.... 0.o
Saved!
Thanks and congrats to developers.... I impruve the stoped services list (W/ apps works) to do a good job in on time screen. I's a game...
Bye...
Thanks!

One question I'd really like to ask...
Don't get me wrong but... isn't it a little bit too late for this type of content, considering that the phone is almost 3 years old?

I haven't seen any other mention of it here on XDA.
Does anyone know if it is a rebrand of something else that I'm missing here?
It's fast. I've been able to use Google Hangouts on it, even with video. Zello works with no problems and even sounds good. I'm going to get a SIM for it and see how well the phone works.
Biggest drawbacks are lack of support for Google Voice and Voice Search. I've been able to workaround most of the other issues. This appears to be a common issue for this type of phone, and it's a big disappointment here. I'd love to find a way to get those messages. Has anyone solved this?
I got mine at http://www.geekbuying.com/item/IK8-...4-0-512MB-RAM-4G-ROM-5MP-GPS-WIFI-325392.html but you'll likely find a place that ships more quickly than Geekbuying.

I own a ZGPAX s5 and I see this watch on ebay as well.
For the processor they are the same :MTK6577 1GHz Dual Core
Both IK8 and s5 actually run the same system as well (android 4.0.4)
They look different just because of different default launchers.
I just root mine and use Launcher 8 instead.
The real difference should be the position of the camera.
Both camera are 2MP and 5MP interpolated.
s5 is better for selfies and Skype while IK8 is better for taking photo shots.
Both are 2G as well.
They even share the same battery!!! ZGPAX s5 got 500mAH and 700mAH and IK8 should be 700mAH
You can take a look of this
http://www.ikwear.com/wangzhanjianshe/1.html
It should be a rebrand product.
The best solution is to mix the two products' camera into one LOL
Then I can selfie and take normal shot!!!
Cheers!

Got a couple of quick questions if you don't mind. I find some interest in this smartwatch
1 How do you like this smartwatch now?
2 I noticed on a youtube video that this smartwatch seems to have a sort of hidden menu button and back button located at the bottom of display. Am I correct?
Any thing else you would like to comment on would be appreciated.
Thanks

1. It is stand-alone watch phone, android v4.04 system, high definition touch screen, high resolution camera, you can use it smoothly and freely like a smartphone.
2. There is menu button and back button on the side of the watch, not at the bottom of display. And you can touch the screen to get what you want...

I've been using the IK8 for a few days now, and I discovered that there is definitely a menu- and back-button located directly underneath the display. In fact, they often get in the way while trying to touch lower areas of the screen .
Is this $120 the same one on AliExpress?
it gives notifications when connected to a phone?
It says 700mah battery. .. many days use do you get from it?
I got mine from Aliexpress It's super fast for me just two days to arrive to Hong Kong! I ordered another one earlier before from Chinavasion to Scotland and it takes me four days.

Looks like the same device to me. Just be cautious since this seller has only received feedback once. I'm not sure if this deal is legit, especially since the price is incredibly low. The IK8 usually sells for about $135 - $145.
Since it's a standalone Android device, you don't need any additional phone running a companion app in order to receive notifications. Just insert your SIM card (regular SIM) and you're ready to go. If you'd like to pair the IK8 to your smartphone and receive notifications over Bluetooth, maybe it is possible to install the Osmart app which is originally developed for the Omate Truesmart. I'm not sure if this will work, but it's worth giving it a try. XDA user 'KOAO' already had some success using this app with his ZGPAX S5, which is not that different from the IK8;
KOAO said:
I am successfully able to receive notifications from Emails, and texts. i haven't tried to reject a call yet. However, i used the Osmart Companion app from the omate truesmart. You download the companion app to you watch by loading the Ostore app on your watch(i might ....might link the APK file i extracted from the Truesmart OS)Then you go to the post at the bottom, join the group and then download the master app to your Andriod based smartphone. Then you pair them up and test. If successful, WIN if not then try again.

The original battery supplied with the IK8 is 500mAh in contrary to what is promised on most websites/shops, it's exactly the same type of battery as used in the ZGPAX S5, but I'm not sure if they are interchangeable since the plastic 'mounting clips' look a bit different. With WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS turned off and the screen set at the lowest brightness I get about 7 - 8 hours of battery life. But I haven't been using the device a lot yet, so I think battery life will probably increase.
I ordered my IK8 from Aurabuy and received it within 1,5 week (to the Netherlands with SingPost).
Edit: I came across several 'relabeled' versions of this watch lately. They are all exactly the same, but simply indicate different brand-names. For as far as I know, the IK8 Smartwatch is originally known as the TCW-006 and is being manufactured by Tecomax Electronics. This also explains the build-number visible in Android; TECO_V2.0_20140420.
haven't posted in xda for a while..let alone in the smartwatch section...but here we go. was in hong kong for a conference and decided to drop by the it shop. came across a host of smartwatches and just for fun picked up the ik8 for $90. haggled it down to $80 and figured i'd ditch it sooner or later. didn't play around with it until like 5 days later after i got back to melbourne. lo and behold, was actually quite surprised and impressed with it. my 2 cents worth:
display/interface
- not bad, quite responsive though i replaced the screen protector with a matte (anti-glare) one
- the small keyboard takes some getting used to but once you've used it you'll get around the limitations. i still make the occassional mistake but that's only when i'm using playstore
hardware
- camera is quite good though i have no plans of using it as i have my note 2
- speaker is surprisingly loud for such a small device
- one con i have is the lack of a 3.5mm jack. the built-in micro usb (for data transfer and charging) is also the plug for the earphones which comes with the watch. thus you can't really plug your own set of earphones...unless of course you use bluetooth
- quite light, watch strap is quite sturdy
- took in my 32gb microsd with no problem. pretty easy and straightforward in mounting the card
- same with the sim, but no plans on using the phone function
- don't think its "water proof" as some smart watches that claim to be (e.g. omate). but i'm not complaining.
internals
- i installed adw launcher which spiced up the homescreen (better than the default launcher). no hangs or whatever
- installed a bunch of widgets, just have to be careful as some are obviously built for larger screens. example, clokr (time widget) tends to not fit due to the length
- installed button savior to avoid using the hardware buttons. no need for root as i only need home, back and power off
- mx player works well, can actually watch a movie on it. no plans though as i have my note 2
- not planning on using this for music but poweramp works well on it. though there is sometimes a tendency for some icon labels to overlap given the small screen
gps
- i had to put a separate review on gps as i'm quite impressed with it
- installed navigon, apk had no problems loading. through wifi, the additional data and maps were installed
- also installed gps tester as well as other apps for cycling
verdict: gps signal takes around 1-2 minutes to get a good fix. the watch is able to lock on 4 satellites. accuracy is quite good but tends to be a little off when it's cloudy. the gps is not as spiffy as the one in my note but i'm not complaining. for a device this small, i was quite impressed how good the gps works
- strapped on the watch on my bike, used bikemate app. speed was quite accurate as well as keeping it locked on the satellites. didn't lose a signal as i cycled away
- had no issues with navigon. plotted home and the watch took me back to my house with no problems
haven't really tried out the full extent of the battery but without using wifi and gps, i was able to use it for 3 days before having the charge. with gps, battery went down to like 50% after riding for an hour or so. not bad in my opinion. overall, quite happy with it and i've now removed the speedo on my bike. no more wires and no more replacing batteries. this watch has now taken over the speed indicator duties for my cycling.
cheers
I got me one of these too, ordered from a Dutch guy who'd better pay back the import taxes caused by him drop-shipping it while pretending he had it in stock, or he'll be getting some negative publicity. Having to wait 3 weeks was bad enough.
I already had a ZGPAX S5 which I damaged, which is why I got this as a replacement. This is almost exactly the same hardware, as evidenced by the ability to restore a complete TWRP backup from the IK8 on my S5 with everything functional except the cell phone system. The IK8 is definitely the better of these two watch phones though: better build quality, no buzzing during calls, better cell signal reception, better clock & launcher system, no dead zone on the touchscreen. Definitely not waterproof with the gaping hole of the microUSB port, but it looks not as vulnerable to a few raindrops as the S5, whose screen doesn't even seem to be glued tight.
For the rest I concur with Robson, very good loudspeaker, the GPS is indeed impressively good and seems better than on the S5, at the condition that one does the usual dance of enabling EPO etc.
Can't login to Google PlayStore
The problem is that the teeny tiny keyboard is just too hard to navigate and when I try to switch the keyboard from alpha to numeric I get an "Android Framework has stopped" error message and the Google setup/sign-in app crashes and reloads.. Arrrggghh..
I tried installing two different Bluetooth keyboards to get around this problem but when you link the keyboards and go into the settings it will say "Use as input device" great, but when you go into "Languages and Input" to set the default to the Bluetooth keyboard the Bluetooth keyboard is NOT shown as an option just the default AOSP keyboard.. Can one of you guys help?? You know what a PIA it is to return anything to China so I just may be stuck with this which sucks because I can't use any of my Google apps (e.g. Gmail) which is why I bought this thing in the first place!
Any and all replies are appreciated!

I have tried to get Bluetooth keyboards and mice to work with two different phones that use this same chipset and Android version. My conclusion is that it is impossible. The devices pair, but the phone does not react to them. It looks like a fundamental bug in this Android release. If anyone has more success, I would certainly want to hear about it.
Your best option would be to install a half-size keyboard like Slidy Press, that has much bigger keys. Of course, installing the official version would require logging into the Play store first Your only option is to download the APK and install it from the file manager. I have made a customized version of Slidy Press available for download. I would post the link here, but for some reason the forum forbids this, so you will have to Google for this exact phrase between quotes: "I recommend installing Slidy Press" and you'll find the download link.

Thanks!!! I installed Slidy but I'm now finding that if I touch any key that appears in the lower left corner I get a "Unfortunately Google Framework Services has stopped" error and the app crashes. Any ideas???

So, regardless of the keyboard you're using, it always crashes when you touch the lower left key? That is extremely weird. Do you also get strange things when you touch that location without keyboard? Maybe your screen is defective and you'll have to send it back anyhow…
i concur with lex, i've never had this problem despite installing multiple apps on the watch. in your posts you mentioned that the error message first came up when you tried switching from alpha to numeric. and again the message comes up when you touched a key in the lower left. coincidentally, both areas you touched are on the lower left portion of the screen. there might be something wrong with your device/screen. unless of course another app is somehow causing this issue? though somewhat related, i once installed usb toggle in my note 2. though rooted, it seems that my note didn't like the app and frequently crashed. i had to fix it up it to the point of going to the bootloader to wipe out the cache. in any case, uninstalled it and now my note functions well. the same could be for your watch. again, unless of course there's something wrong with your screen/device...in which case you should have the watch replaced.
at first in setting up my wifi connection, playstore id/password, etc..it was quite a burden. though the keyboard is small, you'll eventually get the hang of it. i still get the occassional mistake of pressing the wrong letter. but i rarely do this anymore since the watch has been set up to what i need it to do (which is mostly for gps).
the one thing i'm looking around for is trying to either deactivate or change the watch face. i noticed that this can be done for the sony smartwatch...i'm still trying to find a way for the ik8. no luck at the moment though...
Returning
Guys,
Thanks.. I've done a Factory Reset and the problem persists. I think the digitizer is faulty in that one spot so I'm sending mine back for another.. Will let you know if the next one acts up! Thanks for all of the replies!

IK8 Review
I wrote a review about the IK8 (I think I should be allowed to post links by now). Because I already had a ZGPAX S5 and the IK8 is very similar, the review mostly focuses on the differences between the two. The general conclusion however is that the IK8 is noticeably better in most aspects.
The review also contains a list of tweaks and hacks, and custom versions of the clock screensaver and launcher. Enjoy!

hey lex
thanks for sending that link to your review. I rooted the phone to change the watch face lock screen. I think somewhere along the line I sort of did something wrong because now the lock screen watch won't come up....which is a good thing! what I did was installed ADW Launcher and used a live wallpaper for a nice watch face. I kept the home screen free of any widgets. Swiping to the right then brings up a whole bunch of short cuts and widgets which I use.
cheers

Hey guys, I recently acquired a ZGPAX S28 and figured I'd share it with you. Some of you may have been around for my development work on the MotoACTV and the Omate TrueSmart smartwatches, among various other phones and tools, so I figured it was time to try my hand at a product review for something that not too many of you have heard of yet.

Let's get down to business! What is it? Well, it looks an awful lot like a Gear 2, but it doesn't run android. However, that's not a bad thing, when you consider its $50 price tag from http://www.gearbest.com, where mine came from. It shipped in a generic "smartwatch" box, as shown in the unboxing video below:
Specs:
- CPU: MTK6260 360MHz
- 1.54 inch Touch Screen 240x240
- MicroSIM slot
- MicroSD slot
- Bluetooth 3.0
- 450mAh Battery 3.7V Li-ion (Reported: 72 Hrs Standby, 6 Hrs Talk, 8 Hrs Music)
- Micro USB port
- Size 58x39x12.5mm
- Weight 55g
- Accelerometer
- Vibration
- Microphone
- Speaker
- MicroUSB Earphones Included
Features:
- Pedometer
- Anti-Lost Alert (both for connected phone and watch)
- QWERTY keyboard with both T9 and handwriting prediction
- MP3 Player
- Sleep Monitor
- SMS
- Phonebook
- Music Player
- Remote Camera
- FM Radio
- Calendar
- Ringtones
- Multiple Language Support
You can either watch the video (I'm not a thespian or read the review right here. I decided to wear it for around 5 days prior to writing this, to get a feel for how I'd use it in the real world and how it stacks up to the competition that I have at my disposal. The watch is surprisingly comfortable, as well as stylish. It's very similar in design to the Gear 2, which I enjoy. For reference, I very much dislike wearing my Omate TrueSmart because it is so uncomfortable, but sometimes forget that the S28 is even on my wrist. I plugged it into the wall to let it charge for a little while, with the included microUSB charger, and then connected it to my HTC Desire 610 via bluetooth. I then downloaded the free companion app to my phone, which was also painless due to the QR download code being right on the watch. I basically scanned it with barcode scanner, then sideloaded the APK after it downloaded onto the phone.
Once up and running, you can select which apps from your phone you wish to display on the watch. I used everything from LINE Messenger to my iSmartAlarm home security system. Everything came through to the watch perfectly, and at the settings I selected. If you don't want an app to show up anymore, block it. Simple as that. I found myself blocking Facebook after receiving many many notifications at once and being distracted at work when I didn't need to be. Again, it was all very painless and I was pleasantly surprised. This is something that many Android based watches have problems with. They try to be both a watch and a phone, and can't be the best at either one. I've also had many issues with them not receiving notifications properly, or not receiving ALL notifications that you want to receive, which was not at all the case with the S28.
The watch itself is hard plastic with a metal faceplate and capacitive touch screen that's very responsive to touch, despite what my clumsiness in the video may lead you to believe . I LOVE that it's capacitive for only $50. I was actually expecting much less than I got for my money, to be honest. The screen is bright and relatively easy to read outside. It's not the greatest in direct sunlight, but to be honest, I've yet to find one that is. The only things I noticed myself really wishing for were a shake-to-wake feature of some kind, so I didn't have to press the button every time I wanted to see the time, and a way to remove the analog clock, or at least change it. I much prefer digital myself.
However, again, for the price, you simply can't beat it. My friends were in awe as I showed them the differences between this watch and my usual daily drivers, and I may have even convinced a few of them to give it a try. The watch has 2 functions in particular that I'd not used before, the remote camera and the "anti-lost" function. The first lets you use your watch to actually control the camera on your phone. You can see the viewfinder through the watch and walk around the room to take a picture. Not going to lie, I took a few full body selfies, and no, you can't see them. It worked well, and if you weren't taking a picture, it was also neat just watching the phone's viewfinder through the watch, like a remote security camera. The other feature was called "anti-lost", but is essentially a "find my watch, find my phone" feature, that will let you find the other if you have one of the two.
It has many features you'd find in a typical feature phone, such as SMS, phonebook, calendar, mp3 and mp4 player capability, and an FM radio. The pedometer works well, but you have to physically start it before walking, similar to most fitness apps you'd find on your phone. Again, I was spoiled with my MotoACTV's always-on pedometer. It has a sleep monitor, but I've yet to play with it. Soon, friends, soon. The on-screen keyboard is small, but works well and has many options including predictive text (T9) and handwriting recognition.
I did have one issue with the watch or the phone disconnecting and reconnecting with my bluetooth every so often, but in all honesty, I'm blaming that on the phone more than the watch. It was a cheap phone after all. I will be doing some more testing on that part when I replace the power button on my GS3.
3 things this watch has, that everyone else making watches out there needs to take note on: Built-in microphone, built-in speaker, and vibration function. It's literally a mini phone on your wrist, with decent battery life and talk time. Color me impressed.
If you want to order from the same people I did, here is a direct link. And after speaking to their staff (who are also very nice by the way), they gave me a coupon code for you guys: S28GM, which brings the price down to just under $44. Thanks for the review. There's a review for it already by st7ler, but its good to get a second look, how many days battery are getting from it? Its similar to the U8 Pro, not sure which to buy.
I keep mine turned off at night, and I got 4 days before I recharged it. Not sure exactly how many it'd last though, because I never let it run completely down lol
Thanks. And your typical use for the 4 days was...?
Could you do me a favour and try bluetooth tethering please? [emoji106]
I used it for between 12 and 16 hours each day. And tethering how, specifically? It doesn't do internet pass through, if that's what you mean, but it does receive all notifications through bt tethering. And receives them rather well at that lol
Thanks for the review. Looks good smart watch. Its app connection is stable?
It was stable for the most part, and if it disconnected, it quickly reconnected all by itself. I think my phone was the unstable part.

Shame it can't do bluetooth tethering, it would have not needed a data plan.

@ClearD - are there any functions to control the phone from the watch?
I don't believe so, it's sort of like a standalone watch phone that also reads notifications from your primary phone
It's possible to add new analog look? Or change shortcuts on descop?
Hello everyone,
I've placed an order of the R-Watch M26s and all I've found about it is that it's an upgraded version of the R-Watch M26. I've bought it at Gearbest as they were having a coupon for it, and it'll arrive in the coming days. The specs for the watch is the following:

As there's very little info about the watch itself, so I'm interested to know if anyone else have it here and wants to share their experience about the watch?
I'll be posting a full length review once the clock itself arrives, and I'll also post the coupon I used to get it at a lower price if the item is good and worth it's price
The watch came today, and I've just been having a initial look at it. I must say that it's better than I expected, but the thing that keeps the band in place could've been better and the band itself is big. Other than that, it's a good watch for the price. Full review incl. video coming up in the next few days so stay tuned
Review of the watch (Will update with pictures )
I've now used the watch for a week or two, so here's my thoughts about said watch. The watch itself is built out of mostly plastic, that's chromed and slightly dark colored. The plastic feels sorta solid, but I must say that there's one downpart of the watch being made out of plastic and that is it's extremely hard to put the watch strap back on if it falls off or if you remove it.
The screen at the front seem to be covered by glass, as I've not been able to scratch it with keys. With that said, I should add that the watch has a capacitive screen with a LED screen. It's not the sharpest screen I've seen, and there's quite a bit of color change when looking at the screen at angles. However, this is expected for such a cheap product and it's not too bad at all.
The software on the watch is a custom OS by Mediatek, based on Nucleus. It's easy to navigate and there's quite a bit of builtin apps in the watch, but there's some disadvantages with the OS. One of the disadvantages I can see is there's a lack of third party apps. This can be said about most affordable smartwatches so it's not unexpected.
The app for the watch that's supplied (Mediatek Smartdevice) is decent and does the job just fine, it's stable but it's not as good as the Android Wear app but it's decent enough.
The watch have sorta decent battery life, and it lasts around 3-5 days depending on use, and I've only charged it 2 times since I got it.
The main disadvantage with this watch is that it does have a built-in speakers - that's poor and will redirect your phones sound through it and it's far from a ideal solution. I would rather see the watch not having a speaker, as it's far from useful and it's not the best implentation ever.
I bought my watch here with the coupon "GBM26S":

Hello,
My watch arrived within 2 weeks but that's because I ordered it with NL Post as courier. Usually I would say it takes around a month atleast.

Is it used well with Iphone? I have ordered an M26, it is pretty cool, but no iphone~
It doesn't work with iPhone !
I received the watch last week and have been trying to use it with my iPhone 5S (IOS 8.3).
I was able to pair it but it disconnects for some mysterious reason (sometimes after a minut, sometimes after a few minutes) and it does not automatically reconnects. This issue makes the watch useless for me.
The only thing that seems to work is the notifier, so I'm able to see the notifications on the watch.
But no way to receive/answer any calls or even place a call.
I bought it at banggood.com and have contacted them and supplied them all information (a video that shows that it doesn't work).
Now I'm waiting for an answer/solution...

Yes, I did install the app. As the iPhone is already supporting bluethooth v4, no additional apps are needed to use the dialer, phonebook and the call log. The app is only needed for the additional functions (like the notifier and that one works very good).
Personally I think the issue is related to the fact that Apple changed the code in IOS 8.3 to support their own Smartwatches and as a result disabled or changed the protocol to support the "cheaper" (read non-Apple) smartwatches.
Banggood came back to me and is now sending a new (the same model!) smartwatch to me to rule out hardware issues (they think the watch is defective). So I'm waiting on the delivery of it.
To be continued...

Yes, I know. That's the app I'm running to be able to receive notifications.
Meanwhile I received a new watch (replacement) and that one works as a charm with my iPhone (all issues are resolved).
The only difference I can see with the previous watch is the version of the firmware. The new one is running V03, the one that doesn't function runs V01.
So it might be a firmware issue (I can't test it as I do not have V03 firmware files to upgrade the watch - So if someone knows where to find it, I would greatly appreciate it).

Hi, have a couple of questions about this watch. Does it work with Spotify? Can I get notifications from whatsapp and Gmail?
Thanks
I received tha watch yesterday, and I'm not able to have notification.
I can make a call and receive it, but if I want to go to messages it says "failed" and write empty. ...
The firmware is the v004.
Please help....
Can you reply to messages on it or you can only read messages but cant reply. also does whatsapp work on it or just wechat as advertised?
i am starting to feel like the watch is a bit useless if you can only answer calls and the speaker is not great so you probably cant hear a thing and you can only read messages and cant reply. so whats the use?
am considering getting this but is it worth getting? or what would be a better smart watch to get compatible with a samsung.
i got the watch from ebay, my m26 doesn't read Hebrew (other than that i like it). At gearbest.com it says that their watch support Hebrew thou.
i'm guessing they have a newer version than i do or they added it manually.
can enybody check their gearbest m26 for hebrew support and if you have it pleas save your firmware and post it, i know there is a way to save the firmware and flash it to a different device (but i dont know yet how to do that).
there even might be a difference between having a hebrew UI and being able to display hebrew characters (i need the display only, dont care about the ui).
Quick tip for those that are unsatisfied with battery life - do a battery swap. It's cheap and straight forward.
I have M26, not M26s with 200mAh battery which struggled to last a day, even on Energy saving mode. I opened the watch and found out the battery was very small compared to the available space in the compartment (I'll attach an image later). After some research it turned out there are a lots of Li-Po batteries in AliExpress for around 5$ with various sizes and capacity (just type the size you want in the search bar). The original size of the battery was 402030 (4mm height*20mm width*30mm length) and managed to squeeze in 602040 (6mm*20mm*40mm) with 500mAh capacity, however the height was a bit much as now there is a slight gap between the lid and the body on one side. Probably 502040 (5mm height) would be ideal, which typically is 380mAh. The soldering job is pretty straight forward - unsolder the old battery and solder the leads of the new one after trimming them to the appropriate size. Just detach the ribbon cable that is located nearby. Now the watch lasts 2 days connected to the phone, pedometer and no energy saving.
Regards
I have one and I'm quite happy with it. I use it with a Windows Phone 10 (Lumia 950 dual SIM). The disadvantage is that there is no control software like with Android phones, but most functions nevertheless work: only camera and music don't work. Otherwise it works rather well -when you have figured out how to use it, because the user manual is close to useless (it took me some time to figure out how to set the clock).. It doesn't disconnect unless you veer too far from the phone, but reconnects when you come closer.

Unboxing Video:
First Impression:
While unpacking, the No.1 Sun S2 surprised me with its heavy watch body. It is made out of polished metal, no plastic like assumed partly before. You also notice that because of the weight (88 g in total) and the cool touch of the metal. Unfortunetaly the metal watch band at my silver version is quite light and does not have the same high quality impression as the watch body.
The top view of the No.1 Sun S2
The display is nearly completely dark in the powered off state, the transition between the display and bottom black border (more on that later) is just noticable at strong daylight. The dark black watchface while being in standby or powered off gives the watch a fancy look in my opinion.
Camera and Button
On the right side you can find the camera and the control button. The camera is hidden very unobtrusive in the “winder” of the watch. Friends just discovered the camera after being told where it actually sits – solved very discretly No.1!
The Microfone
The microfone can be found on the left side. The position does not seem to be chosen randomly: The speaker is placed at the opposite and is speaking in the opposide direction.
The Bottom
On the bottom 3 features are placed: The USB contacts, which can be accessed with a normal microUSB cable via the included charging adapter shell. Also the heart rate monitor is placed on the bottom. At last, the the speaker is placed there as well. The metal watch band is closed with a folding clasp. The watch band is unfortunetaly quite rattly and not made from solid metal. At least the watch band can be adjusted in the size. My personal small highlight is that the watch band can be exchanged with standard watch bands – finally a watch with this feature!
The charging Shell
The Sun S2 is connected and charged with the help of the included charging shell adapter. Comfortable: The shell is kept magnetic at the bottom of the No.1 Sun S2. It even has a hole for the speaker, so that the sound can be lead out to the side, in case you want to use it while charging.
OS/Launcher:
The No.1 Sun S2 does not run like on Android Wear but on a Nucleus OS variant from Mediatek. If the watch is in standby it can be turned on by pressing the button (or via a “look-at-watch-movement”). After that you will see one of three possible analog watch faces. With a swipe the mainscreen is entered.
The main screen
On the main screen a small notification bar is placed on the top, showing the battery status, BT connection and the active profile. Beside that, two shortcuts are available which can be configured with any app installed on the watch. An additional swipe opens the main menu.
The main menu
The main menu is controlled via swiping. You have to be quite careful partially, because of the size of the display.
All in all the system is intuitive and stable. I did not notice any freezes or similiar yet. The firmware can be updated via flash tool and a pc. No.1 already supplied a first update.
Display:
The display has its pros and cons. A huge improvement in comparison to older generations of China-Smartwatches is the IPS-display. Finally a display with stable viewing angles, the colors stay constant also at a very steep angles. And it is round. I also do not know why I like that fact so much . The probably most discussed drawback is the black bar at the bottom of the display (“flat tire look”). The connections are placed here. Anyhow, this is not something unusual – also way more expensive watches like the Moto 360 have the optical drawback (although smaller). The only possibility to bypass it would be a bigger bezel all around the display, which would contain the connection (like the LG Urbane).
While the black bar is not noticable a lot with dark backgrounds, with white backgrounds it can be noticed even more. If this is acceptable is a matter of taste. Personally, I do not a have a problem with it.
The resolution is average. A higher resolution would look nicer, but in general the display resolution is ok and not too low.
Functions:
The NO.1 Sun S2 offers several of functions. I could not fully test all of them completely, so I will add some more infos here in the future.
-Calling: Works flawlessly. You can search through your contacts and start calls via your smartwatch. The calling is done “via your wrist”. The best speaking quality is reached when you talk quite near to the microfone. Incoming calls are shown on the watch and you have the possibility to accept them directly on your watch. Alternatively you can also switch to the watch during ongoing calls started from your phone.
-Pushing Notifications: Also this is working fine. By default all popping up notifications in the notification bar of your Android are pushed to the watch. This can be filtered directly on the watch or in the app.
-Messaging: Reading and writing of messages are possible. Anyhow, the writing is quite difficult due to the alpha numeric keyboard which overlays roughly half of the display.
-Anti-Lost: If the BT connection is lost an alarm will start.
-Pedometer: Seems to be working quite well, although I will add some more experiences here since I will measure in parallel with the Mi Band. Unfortunetaly there is no possibility of syncing the data with the smartphone,
-Sleep Monitor: Same as for the pedometer.
-Sedentary Reminder: The watch reminds you after an adjustable interval to move.
-Audio-Player: The Sun S2 has a surprisingly good speaker for such a small device. Just in the upper quarter of the volume the speaker starts to distort. Obviously this is more or less a gimmick, but with a way better sound quality I expected.
-Heart Rate Monitor: On the bottom of the watch a heart rate monitor is placed, so it can be measured while wearing it. The accuracy is quite varying. It feels like around every second measurement delivers a kind of “plausible” value. Also here was unfortunetaly no feature included which can push the data to the phone.
-Thermometer: While measuring the temperature also the bottom LED is turned on. I haven’t figured out how you could measure the temperature with this or if it is fake.
-Calculator
-File manager
-Video-Player
-Gallery
-Sound-Recorder
-Stop-Watch
-“UV Measure”: A fake app, which returns an UV value ranging from low to high depending on the time.
Camera:
The camera is placed hidden in the “winder” of the watch. As expected, the quality is quite let’s call it humble. The stated resolution of 300 KP (640×480) seems to real. Inside the camera app some settings can be set: delay, anti-flicker-frequency, contrast, resolution and quality (low-medium-high). You have to get used to take pictures especially at the beginning, since you watch kind of 90 degrees rotated. Here are some sample pictures (take in the dusk):
Unfortunetaly the camera seems to be not perfectly placed in the middle at my device – you can see a circular black blur at the right side of the pictures, probably caused by the borders of the “winder”. The pictures can not be used for real pictures for obvious reasons, but for small James-Bond-like secret snapshots is funny (in my opinion).
Wearing Comfort:
I like the feel of the watch in general while wearing. The metal watch band can be adjusted well to my wrist size. It should fit small as well as bigger wrists. I personally have quite small wrists, so I directly removed four links. Anyhow, a new watch band is going to be inserted soon, not because the old broke, but because I want to try it .
The automatic light-on feature works very well. It does not need a special shaking movement to wake up, but just a simple “look-at-the-watch-movement”.
Battery:
According to the shop the No.1 Sun S2 has a built-in battery with a capacity of 350 mAh. I did not verify this yet, but I will measure it in the future. While automatic wake-up feature turned on and constant BT the battery the battery lasts about a day at my usage. Charging at night is mandatory.
Conclusion:
Despite several drawbacks, I like the the No.1 Sun S2 very much, especially because of its small price. Obviously you do not get a watch which can compete with brand smartwatches at every aspect. But it supports all major smartwatch functions which I use and it has a high quality look. Since the day of arrival it is placed on my wrist daily . Especially the high brightness if the display and the automatic light-on are convincing me.
How to update the Firmware of the No.1 Sun S2
The No.1 Sun S2 smartwatch has just been released and No.1 is already offering firmware upgrades to their first circular watch. In this post, I will explain step-by-step how to upgrade the firmware of your No.1 Sun S2.
For pictures in higher resolution, check the original blog post here:
http://klonom.com/how-to-update-the-firmware-of-the-no-1-sun-s2/
First of all, here’s a disclaimer: I am not responsible for any possible damages to your device while upgrading the firmware. Flashing a new firmware always contains the risk of breaking your device, making it unusable. Although unlikely, there can be always a small risk to brick your device, resulting in a permanent error. If you are not sure whether you want to take this risk or are completely unaware of flashing steps, I recommend you not to continue.
Read the above carefully? Still want to continue? Good . So let’s go. What do you need?
-No.1 Sun S2 Smartwatch
-The Sun S2 USB connector and a microUSB cable
-An USB Port
-Windows
1. First of all, download the latest firmware for your Sun S2. You can find it here.
2. After downloading, extract the .zip-file.
3. Open the “2502 firmware update tool” folder.
4. Open “Flash_tool.exe”.
5. Click on “Options” and make sure the “USB Download/ReadBack (Data Card)” is checked. Then click on “Format FAT (Auto)”.
6. Make sure the third option “Format FAT” is checked.
7. Back in the main menu, click on “Scatter/Config File” and navigate to the .cfg file of the downloaded fimware. It should be in “EXTRACTED_FOLDER/T2_S2_LANGX_XXXXX/T2PCB01_XXXXX/”. EXTRACTED_FOLDER represents the folder you extracted the .zip file in, while the X’s can be different numbers or letters. Afterwards, the Flash Tool should look similiar to this:
8. Power off your No.1 Sun S2. Put it on the USB connector. Don’t connect the USB connector the the PC yet.
9. Click on “Download” in the Flash Tool. Does it show an error similiar to e.g. “Can not connect to certain COM Port”? If yes, continue here, if not jump to step XX.
10. That means the drivers are not installed yet. Close the Flash Tool and go to the folder “drive” in the main folder and install the drivers by launching the “InstallDriver.exe”.
11. After successfully installing the drivers, make sure you closed the Flash Tool. Plug in the powered off smartwatch and after a short time your PC should recognize the watch and should see it in the explorer. Then unplug the watch again from the PC.
12. Start again the Flash Tool program, the settings should be saved. But to be sure, check steps 5 to 7 again.
13. Click on “Download”.
14. Make sure the USB connector sits tight on the Sun S2. Connect the powered off No.1 Sun S2 to the PC. Leave it in a stable position, since the USB connector can easily lose connection. Losing connection while flashing the preloader results in a broken device.
15. The Flash Tool starts flashing now. It takes around 2-5 min.
16. If it succeded, a window with a green circle should pop up. Congratulations, you just upgraded your smartwatch !
That was it, I hope it worked for you as well .
Was this tried on Windows 8 or 8.1? You need to add which OS you worked with in the description, thanks for doing this, it's appreciated

I can not find official details from the No.1 page, for which exact Windows version it is suitable. I remember on other flash tool versions, you had to deactivate driver signature check in order to install the drivers on Win 8.
If it helps you, I am working currently under Windows 7, it works without any problems.

Ah, I kinda figured it was done under 7, most of these Chinese flash tools don't work well, or at all, under 8 or above. I personally wouldn't like to be the guinea pig on seeing if it works or not. ...thanks for responding

Is your watch turned off? Otherwise I don't really know, try to unconnect the watch again, close the program, restart it, hit download and then reconnect..
I get an otp box at bottom does that need checked in box in flash tools and yes watched is turned off
---------- Post added at 06:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:45 PM ----------
Here is what I'm talking about...
Do you hit "download" then plug watch in???
No, you don't need to check that OTP checkbox. And yes, exactly. I clicked "Download" and then plugged in the turned off watch. Maybe try a different USB slot or run the Flash Tool as an administrator?
I got it klonom, thanks again for the review and tut!!!

Hmmm, good idea, will try that out, thanks
Would love to see that IP rating put to the test. I can say from personal experience, most IP67 rated Chinese smartwatches fail even a 24in submersion test.
Oh, in the video it's stated that it's the only round display Chinese smartwatch other than the DM360. This is incorrect. It's just one of the least expensive.

I highly doubt that it sersiously has that given IP rating. It just sounds "better", I also don't think that they actually tested it. But first I want to test the watch in daily life, not that I test it and it's broken afterwards .
Thanks for the info , can you show me some other circular watchface chinese smartwatches? I thought that I kind of followed the upcoming products in the last times..

A couple of other circular watches I've been thinking of are UWatch UO http://www.amazon.co.uk/Waterproof-Bluetooth-Smartwatch-Wristwatch-Smartphone/dp/B00XVC4A6E and ZGPAX S360 http://www.gearbest.com/smart-watches/pp_203904.html although I haven't decided to buy either of them and may well wait until Omate Roma/Racer are available.
Edited to add: there is also the RWatch R11 http://www.gearbest.com/smart-watches/pp_203002.html which looks good value.

Testing is how I killed a number of "IP67" smartwatches. BTW, it's illegal to market as IP67 unless it's actually IP67 certified.

I have a Roma, it is almost the exact same size as the Panerai Radiomir 1940 Acciaio 42mm it was modeled after. And the transflective display that I suggested they use is readable even by the light of a TV. (1/12s f/2.0 3200ISO). It's only real flaw is , like other MT2502 smartwatches, it's BT connectivity is spotty. Which may be due to MTK no giving a crap. But no surprise there.

I've been wearing a Mimi mi-w3 for the last five months and that's convinced me that I would't go back to a non-transflective screen, hence my interest in the Roma, plus I like the Panerai style case. I'm just not sure I can justify spending twice what the Mimi cost me, for much the same functionality, simply to have a circular alternative to wear.
I can't help thinking that there must be some big problems with MT25xx, with the number of cheap companion watches using them how come all the cheap standalones that have appeared since Aster was launched are still using the old feature phone chips?
Thanks @Pseud O'Nym and @Lokifish Marz for the hints, seems like I seriously missed a lot of the new circular smartwatches generation from china. Will try to have a closer look at them . About the IP certification: I guess especially NO.1 does not care about those western regulation .
About the July 7 update I noticed 3 more things:
-The shutter icon in the camera app is not anymore between Options and Back, but now placed on the middle right side. Way better, since before it was hard to aim and not hit Options or Back.
-Shutdown animation is now in a kind of Samsung style
-I found out how the UV-"Sensor" works: If you open the UV-App and click "Measure", it will state "Measuring..." for a few seconds and then show on a scale something like "Low", "Normal" or "High". Well, I found the UV-Sensor . The app is simply time depended. If you switch the time to noon and sync it, the UV-App will return a high level after "measuring". If you switch it then to midnight and sync it again, it will return "low" .
Can you try to receive a call using a Bluetooth earphone? Does s2 show the caller id?

It is really waterproof
Meizu has recently presented their new version of their “Note” device and the truth is that after view other releases and announcements like MX4 Pro and MX5, the first impression about the M2 Note is we are facing a mid-range devices.
By the other hand, the M2 Note is presented as the evolution of the M1 Note, however we find some less power inside, although compensated with a lower price, and making of it a very interesting device for many buyers.

Packaging and Design
It comes on a flat box, reminding us a book (not the iPhone type box) completely white, in the top side we find some Chinese characters (I guess they mean Meizu) and then “note2 FHD”.
In the rear part, just a sticker with a lot of Chinese words and some numbers referred to the specifications.
Once opened, we find the M2 Note, a really tiny charger (although with a 2A output!), the USB cable, a cloud-shapped clip to open the cards slot (SIM/microSD) and a fully Chinese quick guide.
First impressions, it's a quality finish and materials. However, if this brand is highlighting among others and going to global markets, I cannot understand why they have put everything on Chinese.
By the other hand, as we see each time more, no earphones included :-/
When I hold the device on my hand, we feel the same lines we've seen on other models of this brand. Rounded corners and a unique piece made on polycarbonate (which means a non-removable battery, and very pleasant touch.
Going deeper into the details, we'll see on the front (going top-bottom) the secondary camera, the big 5,5” FullHD screen and only one physical button. No other physical or haptic buttons. This button is one of innovations in this device, since when we touch it (without pressing it) once, it works as “back” button, when we press it once it brings us to the Home screen and if we press and hold it, it will show the voice assistant (SmartVoice). It's something strange on the first days (missing the other buttons) but after some time using it, it's very comfortable.
The lock and volume keys are on the left side, so on the right side we just have the slot for the SIM cards (nano or micro) and for the microSD card. Again an interesting concept since there are two places on that tray, the first one will be for a nano SIM and the second can be used either for a micro SIM or a microSD card. Most of Chinese manufacturers go for the dual SIM, even when most of users just put one SIM inside. So with this system we have to choose between more storage or use two SIM cards.
On the bottom part, we have the microphone, the micro USB slot and the speaker. On the top side, we will see the second micro (for noise cancellation) and the jack 3.5 for the (again non included) earphones.
Flipping it, we have the main camera (made by Samsung) with 13Mpx, a dual-tone flash LED and the MEIZU logo on the bottom.
Hardware
As mentioned on my intro, the specifications of this device are not “outstanding”, but mostly mid-range average. It's equipped with a 64 bits octa core MT6753 chip from Mediatek going at 1,3GHz (while other competitors are delivering 1,7Ghz or 2,0Ghz speeds.
On the RAM side, 2GB what are more than enough for an average use of a smartphone, although many other models come already with 3GB as the standard for this season.
To finish the heart of the M2 Note we have a Mali T20 GPU (also well known) which will be the responsible for doing a good work with FullHD videos and games.

Where we can find more effort is on the screen, Meizu has equipped this model with a 5,5” FullHD (1920x1080) panel which uses the new IZGO technology to reach a very high density of 403ppi with a high contrast 1000:1 and it worth it!
Software and multimedia
It runs the latest version of Android 5.1, nonetheless the user experience is different from standard Android, thanks to Meizu's FlymeOS 4.5 (which in 7 days of use has updated to 4.5.1 and 4.5.2A respectively).
A lot can be said about this customization of Android that in my opinion works smoothly and very well. I'm not really a fan of personalization layers, but this one offers a very nice experience and I'm enjoying (and discovering many interesting things) it.
I don't want to spend more time speaking about Flyme since it's not exclusive of this model and there are already a lot of articles and reviews about it.
Some of the main characteristics are the already mentioned way of working in the “Home” button with its 3 different functions (back/home/voice assistant) and some screen gestures, like showing the notification bar when sliding from the top with the shortcuts (Wifi, Bluetooth, Flight Mode, GPS, flashlight,...).
When we slide from the bottom, we will have a new bar with the open apps (quite similar to iOS 6). We can close any app just moving it out of that bar. Simple and fast.
Finally if we slide our finger bottom-up in the middle of the screen, a search screen is open (similar to the iPhone one, again).
Flyme comes with a lot of apps pre-installed. My impression is that they work very well... and at the same time they are useless out of China. Even if the full mobile is in English (there are a few other languages available) since I receive it, those applications are only in Chinese and with Chinese content.
It's not a real problem since you can install other applications to perform those tasks, but why not translated them?
I'm thinking specially on the voice assistant app (called SmartVoice and very similar to Siri), a lot of potential, but no use for the moment.
Another of the applications that has greatly surprised me is the Music one. When I received this mobile, I copied some music to test it, and when I opened the app, it always showed me “Music on the device” and “Online Music”.
So I tried it, and everything seemed to be in Chinese with Chinese artists... but when explored a little bit more, I found international groups and artists. So I browsed it and, you can listen AND DOWNLOAD any song without any copyright issue :-O
The catalog is huge, so if you like music, this is another valuable point, you can stream or download the music without having to pay monthly fees.
Camera
I was not expecting so much from this smartphone camera, because when I saw “13Mpx camera by Samsung” I automatically though in “IMX214 camera manufactured by Sony” that we can see in almost every smartphone nowadays, and which normally means good pictures with good light conditions but very poor results with low light or night pictures (even using flash), and also a slow focus.
Taking great pictures of landscapes during the day, but awful pictures when there is movement (kids, dog,...) or the night is coming.
In the present case, I must say that in addition to Flyme, and the Music app, the camera has been the greatest surprise. It focus and shoots quite fast and if you hold the button, it will shoot a burst of photos. In addition between the photo modes we can find slow-motion and a quite complete manual mode.
Here you have some of the pictures I've taken during a recent trip to Morocco (for full sizes visit the M2 Note entry on my blog).
The front camera, with its 5Mpx also offers quite good results, they could maybe include a flash... but it would increase the costs and anyway the present results are quite good.
Recording video at 1080p shows very good quality and with the option of taking pictures meanwhile.
Last, in the gallery, we have a tab called “Cloud album”, which seemed very interesting. To use it, you have to create a Flyme account (very easy and fast) and link it to “your TaoBao account” which I couldn't create for the moment, mainly because everything is on Chinese and I prefer to know what I'm signing...
Deceiving to see so many features blocked by the language.
Battery
It's a non-removable 3100mAh battery manufactured by Sony, and after a few days of usage I can say much more duration than for example the uleFone Be Touch, even with a heavier use (mainly taking and viewing pictures, WiFi and GPS). Up to now, I never had to charge it before the end of the day.
Conclusions
I've shared good things as well as bad ones (or need to improve) about this model.
In a very first moment, I was sure it's a mid-range device, but after a few days using it, it has make me think if a mid-range from a good brand (even a Chinese one) can be better than a flagship from a new brand... and even now I'm not clear about it, since the user experience has been very good, and I don't know yet if I will start using it more than my uleFone Be Touch.
The pros are very clear, works fast, quality in the materials, light in the hand, an outstanding FullHD screen and very good pictures (even nightly). And with a price under $140 (with current promotions)!
About the things that need an improvement, I'm missing enormously the radio (please why not I use it every day!!) and the bunch of good Chinese applications that make me think continuously “it could be even better, I'm missing some important features of this smartphone”.
We always have to bear in mind the quality-price ratio and keeping to that it's a very good purchase even if it's not the most powerful device.
PS: If you find this info useful, I would appreciate a "Thanks"
Nice @mdabar!
Thanks
clock
I cant find the clock widget. The ones installed from play store dont update times. I need a working clock widget.
Also notification light doesnt work for missed calls and sms
Thanks! Do you have problem with wifi or gsm connection? I read a lot of complains about this issues. Do you try to see in how many hours drain the batherie in 3 or 4G internet surfing?
dont update to 4.5.2a it has microphone bug. there is a sound problem in calls. people cant hear you.
if you stay at 4.5.1a there is a video record bug. there is white noise behind the video.
meizu sucks
Hi, I just updated a video sample to YouTube -> https://t.co/uBq1AQ8XoD
@lancelot0606 why do you say that? I'm really delighted with this smartphone, very surprise about how well it works! I update with every new notification, now on 4.5.3 and no issues wifi, gps,... everything working properly specially as I say on the review above, the camera quality.
The only thing that really piss me off is the podcast play. I have tried all the apps available for podcast and with everyone it stops after some minutes of playing. Finally I decided to use iVox and after some days using (or trying) it, I discovered that it normally stops when I put to play a chapter initially. I mean, what I've done to "solve" the issue (temporary solution I hope) is start playing the chapter then I stop and play several times from the lock screen... and then it normally plays the full chapter and the ones on the playlist without any trouble.
Are you still having any trouble?
Cheers!
after 4.5.3 it look stable but still microphone needs more sensitivity. there are many complaints in chinese forums about this.
I'm getting the microphone problem to. I'm in version 4.5.4A and some people can't ear me at all.
Is there any solution for this?
Regards.
Hi guys! I just picked up my Miezu Note 2 yesterday at the local store in Hong Kong. I'm fairly impressed with it so far for the price. I updated it right away, so I'm now running Flyme 4.5.4I.
But I have a problem with my google apps. I don't get automatic updates of my Gmail. If I log in, it will update, but it does not seem to update in the background when new emails arrive. Suggestions?
Go to security app, permission and give gmail permission.
Regards.

You have to go to the security center> power saving >Then click on the 4-squares icon down-right. You have to enable goolgle play services on standby mode.

It works!!
You can also make sure that you don't have any saving-batery mode. It stops many apps after a few minutes.

I think that you should downgrade back to your initial firmware version. Most of meizu m2 note that are being shipped out from china are chinese version upon which a multi language rom has been flashed on them by the sellers. These roms are not perfect and do have bugs. Upgrading them are clearly not advisable. Have a look on aliexpress sellers webpage.
