- Got a x720 with offical 23s rom.
- Installed TWRP and SuperSu
- Regrets
- Want to switch to Magisk and systemless root so I can update by OTA
- SuperSu image is still there after I try to get rid of it
- Need stock boot.img to get rid of it completly so Magisk and systemless root will work
Anyone got stock boot.img or flashable stock rom?

confused by your post
hi,
how does one add to the root file the img file? every time i have tried is says i need to be rooted… which i am not? can you advise the step by step to add the img file without root access to the root folder? maybe the file manager apk you used that we can also download and install and use?
The root folder just means the first part of your storage. I.e not in any folder.

I just got the phone and this no longer works on the latest software (Aug 2016), as it just causes a boot-loop (Others who have commented seem to have the same issue)

Was this on the latest version of the firmware, and if so then please let me know how!
Thanks!
I'll put up a link for the files needed . Recovery is for the j320f but it's working on mine no problem and I'm on j320fn. You have to flash recovery via odin and change language when you load it up because I think it's in Russian but not sure . I found all this on a website but can't remember where to now but anyway here you go for TWRP http://mega.nz/#!tBORFSBI
and for flash able root in recovery http://mega.nz/#!1ZFAWZDI
use Firefox to download from mega ok and if you have any trouble flash stock through odin, website for stock rom is sammobile

Oops I forgot to mention make sure to enable oem in developer options as well as usb debugging too plus it's for Android version 5.1.1 latest version hope this helps everyone

All looking good so far. The TWRP flashed OK, and so did the Nandroid back up, so I am just trying the SuperSU install and the phone has rebooted about 6 times so far since the install, so I will keep it going a little longer and see what happens
OK I'll try to find another supersu to flash ok

I ended up re-flashing SuperSU a second time, as it was bootlooping for about 25 minutes and it went straight through this time after 1 reboot.

All good - The phone is now rooted and SuperSU installed (I haven't tried the Xposed installer yet, but will do tomorrow as off to bed now.
Many thanks for the advise & links... I'm sure there's a lot of people that it will help!
For anyone else wanting to try this, the basic info is broken down below:
Basically, download TWRP & SuperSU from these links & flash using Odin:
TWRP*http://www.mediafire.com/download/bl...-J320F.tar.tar
root file*http://www.mediafire.com/download/cp...0630161323.zip
The TWRP will be in Russian, but if you click on the right-hand side grey box then you can change to English.
First thing to do is run a Nandroid back-up and once completed copy the SuperSU file to the phone/Ext SD card and flash this (I flashed it twice, as the first attempt just made the phone constantty reboot after the logo.
Next you can flash thexPosed Lollipop 5.11 from here :* the framework for xposed lollipop 5.1.1*http://www.mediafire.com/download/hx...m-20151217.zip

Should work for x727, yes you can flash by TWRP. For lose TWRP I think you need to reflash it right after flash this stock rom and reboot. Then come back to TWRP (shutdown phone and use Power + Volume up button) and flash Supersu for root.

Note just full backup your phone before flash the rom just to be safe.

no one else try this. It made my phone worse.
Before I was getting hs usb and it was semi function using the 1572 loader, but after trying this its now only showing 'lge android platform composite usb device'.
scratch that. after holding down power and vol - for what seemed like an eternity my phone booted into 7.0
I took a shot and flashed the bootloader for 1572 and my phone now boots without the sd card.
Cheers. work continues.

did you try the 6.0 files from the factory rom?
NON-HLOS, BTFM, and FSG has my phone making calls, I can connect to a bluetooth speaker, and (unrelated) wifi works.
coming form a hs-usb brick I think i'm completely operational at this point. That is no known issues

bootloader does not have to be locked in order to flash the ota. you just need to be on stock rom with stock recovery.

I saw this (https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/blob/master/docs/tips.md#ota-installation-tips) to install an ota when you rooted.
I did some research to know what is flashfire and I read that it could work on other devices than pixel, nexus and samsung.
So I just wanted to know if someone tried and if it works
Can AnyOne Please Tell How to Root m1Pie??
Is That a Same Way of Oreo??or it has AnyOther Way??
