If you are using CM7, MIUI you can do it in settings, but if you are on official ROM type in dialer *#*#4636#*#* go to phone information and select WCDMA only.
Hello,
I have been trying hard to find a way to disable 2G on my MIUI Rom. The problem is that the "WCDMA Only" option is not available in the JB MIUI rom and I do not want to let my phone to to 2g as its roaming (in Canada, the AWS providers don't have 2G overlay)
I Have tried the *#*#4636*#*# method but it reset s to "WCDMA preferred" after a reboot.
I have also tried to modify the build.prop but it did not take effect. (Set ro.telephony.default_network=2)
Anyone have any ideas to stop the phone from going to 2G for good?

ro.telephony.default_network=2
That is the correct line for setting WCDMA only. If that didn't work, then....?
i9505 LTE/WCDMA Only (autoconnect), possible?
I'm not sure if someone already did this but, is it possible to totally disable GSM and let LTE/WCDMA auto-connect?
I'm using i9505 and GSM is included in the LTE auto connect option on the network types.
Hope there is LTE/WCDMA Only (autoconnect) option.
Hi I have a L720 and made him sprint sim unlock, I'm using it in Argentina with the "claro" position the company APN and it works, sign up both 2G and 3G and the mobile internet works fine. however my question is this, in the menu of this phone does not let me change mode, GSM / UMTS network can not choose one or the other, I can only make it automatic, it is not a stock ROM that lets me choose 2G or 3G. can this be changed? or stays like this forever? I need to use that in my area 2G 3G works very poorly and do not come calling me ..
from already thank you very much.
I have korean imported lg g6 g600L model...all working fine inly i cant switch networks..neither lte or h+ there is no option in the menu....
Anyone know code to hidden menu?
*#*#4636#*#* doesnt work....
I am lost...phone is jumping from networks on its own and sometimes stay on 3g... While lte available... All i need is network setting option
Thanks
hello!
I am trying to set my network mode to WCDMA because I want to use data and receive calls on the same time since my carrier hasn't enabled VoLTE (that's another story...) but I can't!
The option is there, settings, more, Mobile networks, network mode, i make the change to "GSM/WDSMA auto" but it won't stick! If I go back and come again to this menu, the option is reverted back to "GSM/WDSMA/LTE auto"!
There is no luck either with the LG hidden menu, *#546368#*870# , it says "Connection problem or invalid MMI code".
Could this has to do with my modded kernel?
Any other ideas?
Here is my setup right now:
LG G6 H870
Android 7 Nougat V11i-EUR-XX
Melina kernel 3.18.62-melina-rel7_2017.12.31_uber-6.x_STOCK_zefie
Thank you in advance for your help!
That is a GSM phone. You cannot simply switch to CDMA. Different hardware.

what?
If i know that correct, WCDMA = 3g, right?
I want my device to be locked to 3g only, not 4g, because when I receive a call, it drops from 4g to 3g and I lose my internet connection, which is really frustrating if you are in the middle of a video call!
