Is it possible through settings or 3rd party app to display the current song title and artist on the always on display, specially spotify.
No. Spotify might have a screen saver option, but that's about it.

Have any of you guys found a way to control music from the lock screen, I have managed to install MIUI music player and can install a widget onto the lockscreen (using widget unlocker) however it's not the nicest looking in the world.
Any way of making it more 'generic', like using the default music player with control on the lockscreen for example (you can't add this widget to the widget unlocker homescreen).
Thanks guys.
poweramp has the option to have a lock screen widget. Widget looks nice, and it's probably the best music player available.
I'll give it a go, thanks!
EDIT: Tried, works very well, many thanks!
Does poweramp work with spotify?

I'm using the WinAmp music player on my phone, which have the option of a lock screen player - not tried any of the other ones, but it seems to work just fine.
Hi, right now while the screen is locked, the notification bar cannot be accessed. Is there anyway to either 1) enable notification bar or 2) show notifications on lockscreen like iphone style? (for this I've tried lockerpro but its buggy, no passwords). Thank you!

As is the case with most Android apps, there’s a standard version, which offers a taster, and a full version which pitches a few tasty additional extras only available once you’ve parted with your money. In this case, the full version will allow you to display full notification text, set individual settings for each app and tailor the experience to the nth degree by choosing themes for the notifications and setting custom vibration patterns.
Just downloaded iphone notifications.. on google play..

Hi! Basically, the Google music widget appears in my lock screen and pushes my dashclock to left whenever I listen to music. This is really annoying because I always want to see my clock.
The worst part is that for some reason the widget is unresponsive (pressing pause or back/forward doesn't do anything).
Another user was having this problem also, but I couldn't find an answer to his q. -->

I'm running PA 3.55 with the contrasty kernel. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

You can't do anything afaik to make the clock widget show default while listening to music. :/
As for the unresponsiveness, everything works fine on my end, must have something to do with your setup.
Alright, thanks for the info! I'll maybe try reinstalling the gapps.

Even I was facing the same problem and I searched the net for a solution but to my dismay couldnt find any. Then I figured a way out;
all you need to do is while the screen is locked, swipe left/right to the dashclock widget screen and long tap it and move it right, past the default music player widget and the stock android lock screen just before teh camera. - problem solved.
-Nexus 4, Stock android 4.3
I realised that if I disable the stock music app, it's widget is automatically disabled and I lose the quick window widget too. That would be fine, only double tap to off no longer works on the clock widget, only the weather one.
Now if I disable the clock widget too, the weather widget's double tap to off disappears as well.
Anyone else has that prob too?
Enabling the music widget ONLY(in settings doing this also enables the music app) using TiBu solves the problem but leaves a useless and ugly music widget behind :/

Oh i've also thought of a few solutions
1. Use exposed to change the lock screen widget to simply pause/play and next and previous buttons that work with all apps
2. Modify the apk to do the same thing
3. Find the source of the bug?

I never noticed it before but I can confirm my VS980 on CleanROM behaves as you describe. I never use the knock on feature...
Let's hear your wishes for features for the yotaphone 2 in particular panels, apps and uses for the EPD, let's hope the developers at Yotaphone are monitoring this forum and take some ideas from us.
Here's mine for starters.
1. Notifications.
A Yota panel that acts as a Notification centre for all the notifications other than calls, emails and sms. The present system of getting you to flip over the phone is clunky and the weakest part of the whole experience. I would like to select which apps send notifications to the panel and then scroll, swipe and select them from the EPD as the appear. An Android wear compatable panel could be awesome.
2. Browser
A search bar yotapanel, like the google now one on the main home screen, this would open to an EPD optimised Web browser.
3. Some system toggle short cuts.
A panel where you can select system stuff E.g bluetooth on/off, airplane mode on/off, silent/buzz/normal volume toggle.....etc.

Good idea for a thread.
Notification wise I love the sms and phone part of it, the other 2 are nice but I agree. They could be much better integrated. If yota could get the panels to integrate the mirror function on the notification widget bit, or just allow for customised assignment of apps to the email and notification app then it would be a bit less annoying.
Something like htc's blinkfeed or the flow home launcher (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.larvalabs.flow&hl=en_GB) would be good - a hub for general notifications, social media, rss feeds and whatnot.
Also agree that an EPD optimised browser would be nice, something basic and clean.
A settings panel would be excellent, I don't really use the music or book one, settings would be a nice function and a good way to keep use localised to the EPD if needed.
Need a few more options for the big panels, don't really use the reader or music player panels as I tend to use kindle app for reading and music player wise I listen to a lot of audio books and find that skipping back and forth is quicker using normal display.
Some more half page panels could be nice too, like a calculator and /or unit converter.
One thing i really miss so far is the clock alarm widget for Yota panel.

Just FYI, there is an EPD optimised browser, there is just no easy way to launch it. You can launch it by either clicking on twitter/rss links, or by launching chrome on the normal display and then holding the home button and selecting the place where YotaMirror usually is (the yota mirror icon will be replaced with some weird arrow icon).
Yes there is an easier way to launch the optimised browser - you just need to add apps launcher widget on yota panel and add chrome shortcut to it.

Apps are starting to appear in the app store, if you search the store with "Yotaphone" some third party stuff is showing up, there is a great currency converter with a Yota panel widget for the EPD and a couple of e readers and even Office Suite (says Yotaphone optimised)
There's stuff that doesn't mention Yotaphone in the notes so why they come up I don't know, anyway stuff us starting to appear which is great

If you're using the big analogue clock which covers half the screen, then the digital time will show in 12 or 24 hour format below the clock hands according to system settings.
Thanks for help. Looks ok:thumbup:

I find it quite clumsy to switch to Yotamirror (unlocking the back screen, press and hold home, select mirror). Should be possible with a gesture or doubletap on statusbar or something.

I just released a small widget which addresses these suggestions/issues. Behold, the Yota Toolbelt!
