Absolute Volume Control with Onkyo E700BT earpiece - LG V20 Questions & Answers

Hi,
I have an Onkyo E700BT bluetooth earpiece and I observed that while APTX HD is indeed activated, but absolute volume control is not working. The earpiece works perfectly fine on my Oneplus 3 with regards to Absolute Volume Control.
I captured the logcat and saw AVRCP Version 5, but cannot make out if it represents Absolute Volume Control is supported.
If anyone can shed some light, it will be great.

Bluetooth volume adjustments?

I'm having a new problem with my TyTN. I recently picked up a Sony Ericsson HBH-IV835, which is a BT 2.0 headset. The headset does not have volume controls, as it has auto volume-adjustment based on ambient noise levels. The issues is that the default volume is too low for me. The headset's manual tells you to adjust it through the phone's volume controls. The TyTN will not control a headset's volume...is there a hack or a tweak that will allow the TyTN to control a BT headset's volume?
I am a bit disappointed right now. This is the best headset I've owned. Just for testing, I paired it with my old Sony Ericsson Z600, and that phone controlled the volume perfectly. The headset can be plenty loud!
If anybody has any suggestions of fixes, I'd truly appreciate it!
Thanks
Anybody?
Thanks
Adjusting Vollume on that headset
The TyTN is Bluetooth 2.0 and I too had the HBH-835 headset by Sony.
While you're in a call, adjust the vollume by clicking the volume icon on the phone. You should notice that the bluetooth headset vollume does adjust accordingly.
I Sold my 835 and went with the HBH-GV435. I got tired of the 835 falling out of my ear all the time. The GV435 is alot more comfortable.
Thanks for getting back to me. Does this work differently than actually using the scroll wheel to adjust the volume when in a call? Thanks!
Mate I have the same problem. My in car bluetooth does not have volume controls, and my Dopod 838 Pro does not adjust the volume of the bluetooth. So when I am in my car, the volume level is deafening!
I do hope there is a tweak for this!
Cheers

Adjust A2DP Volume from phone?

Did a search, but "A2DP Volume" returns mainly headset reccomendations etc.
Just got a Altec lansing T515. Bargain at just £15 inc p+p!
Paired up fine with the HD2 and seems to work great so far (for the price).
My only dissapointment is that the volume controls on the phone do nothing to the volume of the headset/speakers.
I was really planning on getting some good use out of this wireless audio through a better amp and speakers but would really need to be able to use the HD2 as a remote control (Inc volume control).
Is there an app/utility/reg hack that will let me adjust the A2DP volume directly on the HD2???
Any and all advice greatly appreciated.
Cheers.
try it with windows media player and not the htc sense music player
Thanks mate, tried that.... same deal (almost).
When I adjust the volume inside WMP it still does nothing to the volume of the speaker/headset BUT when I press the mute button or lower the vol to 0% the sound on the BT Speaker DOES mute.
Also at one point I did get some funky 'pairing' problem where the wireless volume was changing using the HD2 volume rocker but the sound quality was terrible. Not sure what happened but I switched off/on bluetooth and when the devices paired again - the sound was back to good quality but the volume no longer worked.
Can anyone please confirm that I should be able to control the volume using the HD2 on ANY A2DP headset/speaker?
I'm currently using EnergyRom Maxsense 23xx 24th July.
Might switch to the 21July 23121 CHT ROM instead to see if that changes things.
But can anyone first please confirm that this SHOULD be working? or let me know of a regHack /cab/app I need to use or apply to get this 'remote volume' working?
Anyone help on this ^^^ please?
Same problem here with expensive Sony headset and reasonably priced JVC. Report it to HTC as a fault. No fix yet afaik
hmm well im getting my jaybird sportsband in a few days through mail, ill report in on if they work or not
This problem i have with all my bluetooth headsets ( i have had 3 ) and also have with the altec lansing soundblade (a bluetooth speaker - really cool)
the problem is that the volume control in software only effects the audio drive,a but A2D2 driver is on a different path so not affected.
For me has not been a problem because volume is always outputted at max via A2D2 and then i use volume control on the headsets or the speaker to reduce as required.
But i see if you have a headset without volume control then this can be a major problem.
Only method i did find to adjust volume via software was install SRSwow and in the options it is having 2 gain settings, input and output. Adjusting these does affect A2D2 volume.
I know its not a fix but it is a work around that may be usefull untill someone has a better option for you
Thanks very much for your input peeps!
rumpleforeskin: (Funniest name Ive seen all week lol)
Sounds like its not just a problem with my headset/speaker (or headset / ROM combo).
Ive got volume controls (which do work) On the headset adapter and on the speaker, but I REALLY want/need to be able to control volume remotely as I was planning to link the adapter to an amp without a remote control.
Looks like SRSWow might be the solution for now....I'll give it a try and report back tonight.
Thanks again for all your help chaps.
I actually fear this could be a demonstration the output audio is hardware wired and not software driven, thus meaning full incall recording will never be possible.

doubt it man, on the iphone 3gs on 3.0 u couldnt switch the volume of the headset through the phone but now with the 4.0 software u can , so its just a case of misssing software.
I use tcpmp and I can control the volume from the software while using my BT headsets (peltor)

Tried this ^^^, Works great for everything, thanks!
Only slight problem is a ~4 second lag between adjusting the volume and the change in actual volume.
Dont suppose there is any tweak to remedy this??
Thanks again for the help.

Compatible Headphones

Does anyone know if you can use headphones made for the iPhone with a Focus? The headphones that come with it are actually decent, but I'd like to upgrade and every set of headphones with an inline mic are made for iPhones. All I really need working is the microphone and volume control; the extra pause button isn't a big deal.
I just tried a Apple volume-enabled set of headphones and the play/pause/call button worked but not the volume control.
The mic and headphones work great though.
The headphones that come with the Focus have volume control on them, so maybe other non-Apple branded headphones would work with volume control.
Thanks for checking that. I guess it's not so bad to have the volume not working since the buttons on the device work with the screen off.
I picked up some cheap iFrogz Luxe and the work fine.
No volume control but the mic and pause worked OK.

I also picked up a set of Etymotic MC3's and they didn't work worth a damn.

[Q] Nexus 4 headset mic volume problem

I have a Nexus 4 and I don't have a matching headset. I did not buy the Google Play Store headset because I do not like plugin earphones. I tried the headset that comes with iPhone 4S and it works, however during calls the mic volume is very low, while the earphone volume is just unbearably loud. Can anyone tell me how to solve this problem?
I assume this has something to do with impedance. Again, however, I cannot find this key information in Nexus 4's specification or the Google Play Store headset's. This can also be compatibility or software issue. But I read somewhere on the internet that unfortunately the mic volume and the earphone volume are not separately adjustable on Nexus 4. If that's not the case, please give me a guide as to how to do it. I am running factory 4.4 rom, rooted and GravityBox installed. If it has something to do with compatibility and/or impedance, please recommend a model (with mic) that works best with Nexus 4 which is not plugin when it comes to earphones. In terms of sound quality, I am not picky. To me, the iPhone headset isn't bad in sound quality. And I'd be totally satisfied if the sound quality is at the same level or close to a Sennheiser MX500.
Thanks!

Bluetooth Volume Low

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to boost bluetooth playback volume. I have beats wireless studio headphones and they are definitely not as loud as they were when using them with my g3 on CM12. I do remember them being this low on the stock lg rom but when I switched over to CM the sound drastically increased. I am looking for a no root solution if possible as I am stock for the time being. I can't even feel any bass from these things and that's what they are supposed to be for lol. Any help is appreciated, thank you!
Interesting. CM12 killed my BT volume on my HAM2. I find BT audio to be just as loud as other devices I have. One thing I've noticed is that BT max volume seems louder if I make sure volume is maxed out before pairing, especially on devices that take over phone volume controls.
Unpair the headphones. Turn phone volume to maximum. Turn headphones volume to maximum. Then pair.
I'm interested as well the mixer_paths would be where we need to look but they look different than I've seen before. I've found a mod from 2014 I'll report back.

Has someone sorted out the bt volume? I also have a very low volume over the bluetooth music, as I'm using it in the car...
It also depends on the headphone I have different Bluetooth headphones and some are loud and some are not.
Well it's not headphone previous nexus 5x was fine, if there is a way to increase bt volume
Viper4arise solved the problem, however 7.1.2 also make the bt volume normal, problem fixed
Just is someone have the samr issue
The P9 is also a little less loud on BT than any other phone i had.
