Hello all
i havent used my device inwhile since i got a different phone so i wiped it and now when i start it up and it goes through attready2go but right after the first step it says settings has stopped working and i cant move on from there.
the firmware is 4.4.2 i believe and also rooted. I couldnt find any fixes online, anyone have any ideas? or a way to flash it and install a cyanogenmod so i dont have to deal with attready2go.
thanks to anyone that can help
Clean it up with Odin by flashing NB1 or whatever compatible.
So, before I begin, I'd like to point out that I'm an idiot. I don't know how or why, but I'm an idiot.
I've been running danv's ROM for the longest time without issues (galaxy s4 on Rogers) and then decided to update the ROM today. After making my titanium backups and everything like that, (haven't made a ROM backup in a while though - again, idiot) I decided it was time to flash the ROM.
Well, I went and did a full wipe, and then all of a sudden when my phone rebooted, it rebooted into download mode with the whole "could not do normal boot" in the top left corner.
I was able to get into my phone by doing volume up/home/power and then canceling when it said to install new OS or not. So I do have access to my phone, but anytime it restarts it goes into download mode, I can't even get into recovery mode to flash the ROM.
Any ideas what to do to be able to flash this ROM? I have a rom backup from March of this year, would that fix the issue and then just try to flash the new ROM again once I was able to get into recovery mode?
Any help anyone can provide me would be much appreciated. I'm currently downloading the stock firmware from sammobile to see if that would fix the issue since I can install that over odin.
Thanks in advance.
*Edit* So recovering from a ROM backup didn't work either. I've done some researching and I think trying to flash through odin is my only option unless I've missed something. I'm running firmware NE3, so does that mean I should get the stockfirm ware for my device (S4 Rogers NI2) or get the firmware for the same NE3 that I have on my phone (In this case it would be Puerto Rico firmware)?
If someone could let me know if this would work, I would very much appreciate it.
Hello I was trying to root my 2015 J550M last night fallowing these instructions https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mg1ZpW7LspU and everything went fine until I tried to install the supersu zip. When I rebooted like it said to it sent my phone into boot-loop and I haven't had any luck finding a way out of it. I can still boot into TWRP but I don't really know enough to go poking around with out doing more damage. I have already wiped it via TWRP(data, cache, and Dalvik not including internal storage) but that still did no good. Here comes the kicker I ordered this phone off of Amazon so all I know is that it originally came from Brazil but I don't have the slightest idea what region so I cant just flash the stock firmware. I have an sent email to the company who I bought it from but the auto reply said at least 2 days. Any advice will be GREATLY appreciated. I just want to get it working again I am not worried about rooting or anything else right now. Thanks in advance.
You can install firmware from any region and your phone will still work
If you do try to root again, make sure you are on the latest twrp for your firmware version and then flash supersu.
Make sure you also download the latest supersu from their website.
Just flash the stock firmware for region that you currently live in, it will work don't worry
Hi Guys, hopefully someone will be kind enough to help me out here!
So I flashed my S7 Edge with Superman Rom a week or so ago and loved the Rom itself, however all I have got since is no signal, no imei, and won't read my sim. I've tried everything I can 're flashing Rom, trying to replace efs file (no backup as it got deleted ☹) and tbh I really haven't a clue what else to try.
I did try to refresh a stock nougat Rom through Odin but this now fails due to boot.img ?
So bloody lost.
If anyone has any ideas what to try I would be really greatful.
Cheers
Matt

Thank you mate! ...seems that the firmware I was flashing was not the newest version so couldn't update the boot to flash. Downloaded most recent Oreo and it flashed through dirty. Had to then flash TWRP and new root before installing would complete past the dreaded 'No Command' with yellow triangle screen! (Probably my fault for dirty flash - but just incase yours doesn't fully wipe if you get same problem as me). Rebooted and Oreo installed no probs and both my signal and IMEI have returned!
Custom ROM flashed and all still working no probs.
Much appreciated for the help!
