try following:
1. connect your phone with usb cable to the pc
2. boot into the recovery of the phone
3. once you're connected with your pc and the phone is in the stock recovery, you should have an option "download latest version and recovery", choose it and follow the instructions on the phone
@m_adnan it keeps failing when I try that, I keep getting this message "Getting package info failed", is there any other way to solve it?
What did you do to manage to wipe the OS?
@scook94 I don't know, I was trying to use Link2SD app to move apps to SD card, then my phone got stuck or bootlooped, when I restarted it. I tried to fix it and I couldn't then I took it to the repair shop and when I asked him what is the issue he told me that the OS have been removed. I don't know if he is the one who removed it.
Link2sd lol

What about using roms?
If ADB and Fastboot don't recognise your phone, I can't see how a custom ROM would help. I'm no expert though, I haven't loaded a custom ROM for many years.

So I've been messing around with android phones for a while now and I'm stuck. I was on the oxygen 2.1.6 Rom then decided to make a back up. I tried to odin back to stock like I usually do but adb wont recognize my device like it usually does. Please don't tell me I'm bricked and that I messed up bad. Any help would be appreciated. It sounds like you flashed a bad recovery. Download a new recovery , boot into fastboot, and
Code:

Adb only works when the phone is booted normally, provided usb debugging is on.
Use fastboot. If you want to make sure it's working, boot into fastboot mode and
Code:
fastboot devices
If it's working, you will see your serial number.
If the other options can't help you get your problem solved try Odin.
www.samfirmware.com
get the right files for your device and Odin program itself. There are tutorials on here how to use it.
sorry I was being an idiot. I tried fastboot and it showed nothing connected. When I flashed a recovery it just hung waiting for device. I have all the drivers loaded on the computer but my device is still unknown and wont be recognized. I have all the odin files and I have used odin before. This sucks

Download and unzip Shabby's OneClickRoot

Hey so yesterday I mucked around with the mounting/unmounting/formatting stuff in fastboot. Now it's not booting up, it's stuck at the GOOGLE logo. I left it on overnight, and it's still stuck there. I can still turn off the device and enter fastboot mode. Anyone know what's wrong?
Thanks

I went to the fastboot menu and unmounted everything, and formatted everything. Then I deleted all user data and the cache partition. I'm running xenon HD rom.
Thanks
You were running xenon rom before you formatted everything! Now if you want to stay with xenon you have to push the rom in your device using adb and install it with recovery.

I would say to get Wug's tool kit and use that to unbrick/flash back to stock. To get your computer to recognize the tablet you likely need to install the proper drivers, which are included with the toolkit and instructions on installing them.

My sprint LG G2 was boot looping into TWRT after I accepted an OTA.
I've read several posts, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2477595 and this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448960,
the problem I get is I can not get into download mode, well, I did enter it, but it stuck at 0%, and my computer don't recognize it. Can not find the phone in "devices", installed the driver and still no avail. BTW, when I boot into TWRT, my computer can recognize the android device and ADB works then.
Since I cannot get past the download mode, I can not use the LG flash tool.. it says "LG USB/Parallel lock key is not detected".
Any suggestion is deeply appreciated.

I tried, use ADB while the phone is in TWRT, went through and restarted, still boot into TWRT.
The command line in TWRT will pop up an error message saying "not enough space", although I do have enough space. So it didn't work either.
Sounds like you just need to keep messing with it until you can get it to recognize it in download mode and go back to stock. What Windows version do you have? i had some issues with 8 but 7 worked fine.

Well, that Fix clear FOTA with zeros and it should end with "not enough space", this is normal.
I guess when your phone restarted into download mode and got stuck on 0%, it already overwrite maybe part of system partition, this is why only download or recovery works.
Did you made any nandroid backup before? If yes, restore at least boot & system from it. It should help, so you can boot normally. If you do not have any backup, well, maybe some other fellow Spring user can give u his boot & system backup files so you can restore them.

I used the fix from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448960
except that I used the sprint .tot file. (http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+G2/Stock/Sprint+LS980/)
Did you try to reinstall the drivers or use a different cable?
I encountered the same issue last night. I reinstalled the Verizon united drivers and rebooted my machine. The next time that I connected the device in download mode, device manager picked up the device. I had to re-run the LG tool, but it eventually progressed past 0% and my issue was fixed. You can reinstall the verizon drivers using the following link.
http://wacomalt.com/dropbox/LGG2/StockRevert/LG VZW_United_WHQL_v2.11.1.exe
I'm having the same issues with D802b after doing the 60mb OTA update. My phone didn't get a chance to actually do the download as on first restart it just went straight into TWRP and I haven't been able to get back since.
It's just looping back into TWRP each time. I've now completely wiped all parts of the phone including the internal SD card, I've even re-installed a new kernel and rom (The custom one I was using before this happened, from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2505682) from an attached USB (sd card reader) with successful installs through TWRP (including wiping cache etc), still reboots into TWRP on restart. I've also done a hard reset that was supposedly successful, still boots into TWRP.
Same as the OP, it won't 'install itself' properly in windows while in TWRP mode or in 'Software Download' mode (turn on with up and down buttons pressed down and plug data cable in). I've tried in vain to hunt down a specific D802 inf as pointing it at the universal driver didn't detect either.
I have installed the Android SDK, LG Suite, LG Universal drivers. I've then tried the B2CAppSetup (which works, but won't detect the device). I've then tried the FlashTool 1.0.54 and it gets all the way through but can't communicate with the device.
The only thing I haven't managed to do yet is to decompress the official kdz into a zip so I can flash it through TWRP. Haven't had much luck with LGExtract as of yet.
Rather baffled actually, as I'm sure the OP is.
Any thoughts?

I tried that method many times and it does not work on the Sprint version. If you read through the thread you'll noticed that others with Sprint devices can not get that method to work.
The only method that worked for me was to use the LG Flash tool and flash the Sprint tot file and follow the instructions for the Verizion method for going back to stock.

Not really sure if this would've solve your problem but here's my possible theory to why you couldn't get it to work:
I was in the same situation. Took the OTA update and was boot looping into TWRP. Just like you, nothing in TWRP would fix it. I think you probably panicked and rush through the instructions and forgot some important steps. Make sure you did not install the Verizon driver by accident because that will cause problems with your Sprint phone not being properly detected by your computer. I did panicked and started to try to many things and somehow got a copy of the Verizon driver and installed it. ADB was able to see my phone but when I tried to sideload something through TWRP it would generate an error. I found out that I had both drivers(LG USB driver and the Verizon USB driver) installed and after removing the Verizon USB driver my computer was able to detect my phone properly. It's really important that after making any changes or installations of drivers you will need to reboot your PC to get the new changes to take effect.
You got the "LG USB/Parallel lock key is not detected" error is because you forgot to copy and overwrite the "MegaLock.dll" that's located at "C:\LG\LGFlashTool" directory.
To get into download mode you just need to press the +volume button only(do not hold or press the power button) and plug in the USB cable that's attached to your computer and Download Mode should come on. It will stay on 0% until the LG Flash tool flashes the Sprint stock rom onto the phone.
Once I got the phone to come up in Download Mode I had to go into Device Manager and find the device and then change the COM port to COM 41 then everything went smoothly as the instruction indicated. If you were not able to change the COM to COM 41 then it will never work.
If you're not sure that you have all the files then this is where I got mine from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2486738&page=7
or
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47849315&postcount=9
After I got the file above I followed the directions for the Verizon method below:

Hello,
So, my vs98039a is having a pop up saying "Unfortunately, LG smartcover has stopped". When i close it, it automatically keeps popping up, over and over and over. I am rooted with stock rom. I have twrp recovery.
I tried to install xposed through twrp. That is when it started with the pop ups. I read that xposed is making the pop ups happen.
I tried to do a recovery, but the recovery wasnt found on memory stick via usb.
So, i was able to do a factory reset, but still have these stupif pop ups. The factory reset took it back to 5.0.2.
I really need some help bad. How do I get rid of these pop ups??? I am sick over this.
Thank you very much

Thanks for your help, nothing is working. I cant seem to get the sdk tools to work so that I can open adb cmd. I downloaded the sdk suite and manager. I'm afraid its a lost cause . I try to go back to stock, and the phone will not stay connected when flashing vs98039a firmware. I even went to Lg site and downloaded the newest driver. It works, phone tries to reboot and shuts off and flashtool says there was error when it tries to install firmware. I try to get phone in dowload mode, and it says download mode but there is an error message top left. Then it shut off completely.
How the heck can I get adb to open up so I can enter commands to stop smartcover, weather, and weather platform??? I have done all of this on my razr m without a hitch. Im not a noob. I do not understand this G2!!!

You need to remove these 3 apps for xposed to work:
LGCover, LGWeather, LGWeatherService
Just flash the attached file through recovery and xposed will work.
Sent from my XT907 using XDA Free mobile app
I was wondering how that is even possible since I did a factory reset, the popups will not let me past them, and I have no recovery as far as I know.? The usb debugging is on, and the phone shows it is connected, but pc does not see it. Unknown sources is enabled as well.
I can't flash anything from pc using the lg flash tool. It gets to 50 percent and says device isn't connected. Can't even try the freedom tool anymore if it went connect. I have the latest usb driver.
I don't evenknow if I have root anymore. Popups won't let me do anything.
So anyway, I ended up just wiping everything thru the twrp recovery and took the firmware zip I downloaded (vs98039a) and installed it. Everything is back to normal with fresh stock rom. I think I will just be happy with that, until xposed has a clean apk. Thank you for your help

Hi
Hope someone can help. I was running MIUI 9 (Android 7) and unlocked the phone and then installed TWRP 3.2.1.0 when I rebooted the phone stuck on the MI screen with the unlocked indicator at the bottom. I went back into TWRP and found that the OS had disappeared. I then downloaded MIUI 9 GLOBAL zip and I could not transfer it to the phone (kept saying it was not connected) although I was able to access the internal SD on my Laptop. I then downloaded MiNote2 Global V8.2.3.0 MADMIDL and was able to send it to the phone and install it but during the install I got (Vendor not mounted, invalid argument). Can anyone advise how I can get my MI Note 2 up and running again?

Thanks for the reply but I am having trouble trying to install using Mi Flash Tool. It keeps erroring telling me it cannot find flash-all.bat. Is there any way to overcome this?

The simple steps are:
To make sure the drivers are ok, install "Minimal fast oot and adb drivers"
Unpack the fastboot rom, open MiFlash and select the folder that has been unpacked (it normally has the same name as the zip)
Press Refresh in MiFlash if your device does not appear in the list (you need to have it plugged in and in fastboot mode at this point)
When your device is seen, and it will be if you have the drivers fine, click on Flash.
Hope this helps
The phone will reboot when the flash is done
Hi
Thanks for your reply. Did all as you have indicated but still get error (not found flash_all.bat) when I start the flash process in.MiFlash tool.

Seems like you are having a bad fastboot ROM...
Here is the link for 9.5.4.0 Global Stable.

Thank you very much for taking the time to assist me. My MiNote 2 is now back up and running.
As you said the Roms that I had downloaded previously must have been corrupted or incomplete.
Again many thanks.

No problem bro!
If you are not in the Mi Note 2 Telegram Group, here it is.
Everytime you need to restore your phone, you can do it like this, there is no problem.
Glad you restored your phone into a working state!
