This phone came out recently in Canada, are there any ways to root the a500w version yet?

I just bought one and it's disappointing to know there isn't any root solutions. Fido adds tons of bloatware.
I'm sure someone is going to release a method at some point, though. In the meantime do other models images work?

Recently released? It's been out since Nov 2014.
For root just install twrp then flash supersu v2.65.

unless I missed something, I wasn't rooted after successfully flashing and rebooting with Twerp 3.0.0. I had to use the kingroot Apk.
I am now rooted, but supersu 2.65 won'f Install . . .

I'd then use Super Su Me (from Play store) to remove King Root (too many permisions for my liking) and instal Super SU - it is a paid for app, but worth it.

New method to root the S5 mini (g800h) on lollipop

As most of the users dont like the russian method of rooting on 5.1.1 due to the unknown kernel source and others dont trust it i dont know why :v
Dj_steve made his own kernel that works with Su just like the russian one

Flash the recovery with odin
Flash the kernel with the recovery
Flash the Su.zip with the custom recovery
All done

Dj_steve made a kernel that works with su like the Russian one
you can use it as fast as its ready

Ok i think i know the problem
I've completely forgot that ive removed knox from my rom so i think its the key
so i want you guys to test this:
Install the alpha twrp from rvr because jackeagle recovery wont loads aroma
Use the cleaner in my "smooth your tw " thread to remove knox without the need of rooting
Now restart your device and try to root it with kingroot
Please test and report so i can update the post if it works

Kingroot is no more needed
dj_steve released a kernel that works with su
i will update the post with it

AFAIK dj_steve used you method from russian forum. I still wouldn't consider it safe.

its completely new kernel not based on the russian one
he built it using Samsung original source

hello and tried this new method gives the same result but the other remains the same is once cel and restart the brick is already reset ise the hand and it does not matter a day or two it gives the same result is not as if I do not fix you could help since it does not and eliminated knox and also the System / app / and System / Container and gives the same error if I have no idea just need root for my work and buy l s5 mini and gives me these errors please help me is if

Hmmmmmm try to do the following :
Root with this method
when the device works download and install kingroot on your phone and root again with it
now uninstall Su apk with any system app uninstaller
hope it works

hello and tried to walk kingroot but says there is still a root for g800h or to let me spill it kingroot root to have it factory

The thing is that i wanted kingroot to replace Su by overwriting su root and takeing it place because samsung dont have kernel protection against it
try to wipe data with twrp>>>root with su>>>>root with kingroot>>>uninstall su apk from system
this should work 100% as it a complete clean

I mean that I have to put the factory from scratch and install the kingroot to let me aserle root for now gives me super her if I install I get the executable His is not installed then it would install the rom stock for kingroot let me to root my g800h

Root problems remains
Having a bit of a problem with rooting G800H/DS. I have used either the Russian or Indian 5.1.1, and rooted with the Russian or DJ_steve's kernel + recovery + SU. Removed Knox with Titanium Backup. Everything works fine for a day or two, but then suddenly when rebooting the phone gets stuck in a reboot cycle. Anybody else having the same problem, or hopefully a solution?

Hmmmmm not sure what is causing this because I've never had this problem

Rooting error on Samsung Galaxy A7 running marshmallow 6.0.1

HI to all,
I have this problem with rooting my galaxy a7 running marshmallow 6.0.1 using Odin, precisely with cf-auto-root file.
Before some of you tell me standard tips, i already have done rooting process while it was running lollipop, so i know the procedure.
I downloaded the correct cf-auto-root file from chainfire website, but every time I tried to root with that file, it shows me the error "recovery is not seandroid enforcing", freezing my phone at Samsung Galaxy A7 logo. What's more illogical, when i add the old cf-auto-root file for lollipop, then it turns on the phone normally, even it is applied official marshmallow update(my device status: Official). So, if you can help me with this, i want to root it, mostly due bloatware and battery problems. Thanks

Download Twrp for ur device and su flashable zip.
Then flash su zip and urbphone will be rooted.

Still the same problem, after installing Twrp recovery via Odin,when I tried to enter the recovery mode it freezes as I mentioned.

Soon I'm planning to upgrade my nougat to the beta build which you can find here. Does anyone have a good method to root the system afterwards? I'll try simply flashing SuperSU zip, but I doubt it will work, because it didn't even work on the older 7.1 OS.
Any suggestions or good advice with the upgrade & root process?

If you use the TWRP backup that has magisk pre-installed you just need to install magisk manager and reflash magisk and you're good to go.

Also in nougat flashing SuperSU doesn't work, you have to use CFAutoRoot to get SuperSU working.

Nope. SuperSU does work in Nougat. I'm flashing latest SuperSU 2.82 SR5 on December build using TWRP and root works just fine.

Yep. It works like charms. Not sure about Oreo though. But I think it'll work.

just flash "patched_boot.img.tar" using odin and your phone will restart. now it show "Verification Failed" and reset button. now click reset and let your phone reset now complete the tutorial and install Magisk. now open magisk and you see both options are enabled. now install root checker and check the root status. magisk will ask for root permissions.
Now your Samsung Galaxy On5 Nougat 7.1.1 is root.
But I Can't Flash Gapps. Any One can help me?

Don't know, but I talked alot of developers specially with TWRP developers but they asked for device.
And for SuperSU root, no one is helping.
There is some issue in magisk root that magisk allow only root access to flashfire but flashfire can't flash gapps in system folder.

Yes Gapps Can Be Installed with flashfire. Just install flashfire, then allow it root access.
Now click + sign and click again "Flash zip file"
now do nothing just click ok and flash it.
Your phone will be restart and run flashfire in boot, it will install gapps. after restart your phone gapps will be there.

Yes Flashfire does not work with Magisk Root. Flashfire accept magisk root access but when I flash gapps.zip after flashing it shows only black screen. it's not going to flash. I wait for 3 Hours but it didn't work. It only works with SuperSu.

Datdevs helped me, after flashing systemless SuperSU, I install SuperSU but SuperSU shows "Your device is not rooted"
and GApps are not installed after Flashing with Flashfire,
