I rooted my G935A, I didn't make a backup, and I did something dumb and need to unroot, how do I do that? I can't seem to get a firmware that works using Odin. Can I send in to Samsung for free? can I go to an ATT store? what can I do?

Same issue I can't find stock firmware. Root was working fine for about a week but then today Google play crashed a lot on me, as well as pokemongo. Restarted my phone expecting that'd fix the crashes but it was stuck in a boot loop, I had to wipe my phone. After that annoying experience decided I wanted to revert my phone to normal but can't -- sm-g935a at&t
Can't find anything on the web that works.
Fixed: I used the modified ODIN from Max Lee's site that I originally used to root the phone, then used the 935U firmware and it worked, 935A unrooted and running the unlocked firmware, it is better than a stock 935A, dosen't even have an ATT boot logo! Supposedly you can root from it, but for now, the stock U fw is awesome, battery life is better, no bloat is a plus, it even puts BACK the smart manager app in settings, and adds HotSpot and Cell Data toggles to the menu.
Thanks, that was enough information for me to fix my problem. 935U does seem to run better than A

Hey guys! A friend of mine gave me her old phone (Samsung Grand Prime(SM-G530W)) and I planned to reset it so my Father can have a new phone. Unfortunately, after a hard reset the phone kept asking for the previous gmail account (My friend said it's a very old gmail and have not logged in with it for so long).
So far I have tried to flash 2 stock firmware (both lollipop 5.1.1 and even tried to flash a bell variant firmware) with Odin and no luck so far.
Thanks for the help in advance!

It doesn't matter how many different versions of firmware you flash. It's a security feature built in to the device to deter theives from stealing it. (Think iCloud lock for Android, similar concept).
There are methods to bypass this but I won't discuss them as I don't know for sure how you came across the phone and don't want to be complicit in theivery, but be sure to check google.
Your best bet at this point is to give your friend some truth serum and torture her for the old password (Or to ask her to initiate password recovery in order to obtain a new password. Please note that after the password has been changed you will have to wait a further 72 hours before accessing the phone.... another google security thing).

Cannot add a new gmail account to the phone unless he is able to access the phone... which he needs the old account information for. The problem is he cannot access the phone because
The phone was already hard reset (No Contacts or Data on the phone, it's been wiped) so this is a mute point.
1- Perform a factory reset using recovery mode
2- when the phone boot up , Connect your phone to a wifi and complete all necessary step until you have to verify your Google account .
3- When you are to the point when you have to verify your account use the the OTG Cable in order to connect your phone to some memory stick which contain the bypass app
4- Navigate to the app and install it .
5- immediately after installing open the app , it will redirect to SETTINGS .
5- open it and navigate to Backup and Reset
6- proceed to the factory reset again
7- choose erase everything
Done
The next time it boot up , Frp should be gone

Worked for my SM-G530W (Solo Mobile Canada, but has nothing to do with the firmware as is factory unlocked w.w.)
I had the same problem, and i used KIES 3 (not compatible with my phone anyway), but if you go on Kies toolbar to "TOOLS", "Firmware Upgrade and initialisation", it asks you for your device model (for mine i typed SM-G530W, and then it asks you for device serial number (S/N) found under the battery by the IMEI number. After this, follow on screen prompts (Restart your device in Download mode/ PDA, connect USB cable, etc), and let the software download and install (factory rom); After your device restarts, you are good to go (sometimes if it gets stuck on booting, remove battery for fer second and start again.) Now you have to go back and set up everything you want, including re-rooting your device... Good luck. (My device is Galaxy Grand Prime SM-G530W Factory unlocked rom, Android 5.11.
Hi,
I am somewhat in the same boat. My friend's SM-G530W just crashed in her hands, and she ended up buying a new phone. When I got to her place she told me nobody managed to do anything with it, not even her carrier (Telus) , so I said gimme that and i'll see if there really is nothing you can do. Factory reset didn't fix the boot loop , so I grabbed the latest firmware from sammobile and reflashed it using Odin. I didn't even know about FRP until that day. After flashing , the phone came to life.. so I said to myself.. Too easy! .. Then FRP hit me. Because she didn't even understand what a google account is , I ended up resetting her password using her new phone and a google code to change it. Afterwards the phone told me I needed to wait 24h after a password change. It has now been 2 weeks , and same issue. I know I have the right password because if I type another , it tells me wrong password , but when I type the correct one it says to wait 24h, but it never goes beyond that.
I have tried every method possible that I have seen to bypass FRP, including OTG , disconnect wifi during update check, realterm and a few softwares , yet the same problem persist. I also tried Freelancer's tip , but same thing. It still asked for the old account because password was reset, and again tells me to wait 24h because of a password change.
Any more ideas?

Damn
Out Of all the phones in the world you had to get that one.... that one is impossible to unlock, it uses multiple built-in software and has a glitch in the systems hardware to make it impossible to unlock I have two of them since 2016, december 12th, it is 2017-12-25. and let me tell you I would give anyone 1000$ who ever can prove me wrong... I am very confident that this phone can not be unlocked, it was one of the first phones to use frp and honestly it kinda sucks, I got a samsung galalxy 8s now... perhaps in the distant future someone will unlock this phone.. but ofcourse by then it will be ****...

This is going to sound crazy, but I guarantee that it will work. I have unlocked a dozen plus grand primes SM-G530W phones. You will not need any OTG cables or flash any firmware. But you will have to download a couple apk's to remove the account. So that said. Take your grand prime to MacDonalds. . When there connect to the MacDonalfs free wifi. Normally you cant open a captive portal on google locked phones. But you can with the grand prime. The macdonalds splash screen will open up and you can scroll down to the bottom and click a link for policy. That will open your browser. From there you can download technocaretricks apk and quickshortcutmaker apk and bypass the google account .

I will gladly take your thousand dollars. Let me know when you have it and I will send you my address to etransfer it. I have proved you wrong. And hope you can keep your word cheers mate. I will be waiting for my private message requesting my email address for payment.
I did something stupid. I used BK package disabler to disable a lot of stuff, including beaconmanager, aaaservice, push service, and a few more which I didn't know the function off. I thought if something breaks after restart, I'll just undo it.
Problem is, I didn't restart.
Then I got an update. It updated, and restarted.
Long story short, lots of settings were strange, like vibration feedback was off, and more small stuff.
More importantly, 2 things have broken: NFC is totally broken, it always makes the sound that the tag doesn't work.
And also, my notification tray is broken. The settings gear, and the down arrow don't work, but the switches do.
No notifications show, at all. None.
I really don't want to factory reset. Is there a way to fix this? I hope so.

Well, factory resetting is basically not an option right now. Living without notifications, and nfc is also not great. Is there nothing else I can do? Like re flashing the firmware while keeping app settings?

Of course I don't. Neither do you. I don't know what you disabled, neither do you. No idea what your original firmware was, your exact S7E model, CSC, bootloader, modem, the update you mentioned, what flashing method you're planning on using etc etc. If you know you're keeping it secret. Presume you're not rooted but you haven't said.
The only info you've given is that you bust your phone doing something you shouldn't have but don't know what, and don't want to do a factory reset
Not very helpful.
In short, how can we help when you don't give any info and you admit yourself you don't know what you disabled that caused your problem?
Flashing stock FW will work (99.999% certain). Give more info and maybe it's not necessary, who knows? We're not telepathic.

Sorry I'm not trying to be super unhelpful, I was typing via mobile. I'm on a PC now.
I'm not rooted. It's a stock S7edge from the Netherlands (GSM). The update which caused my device to restart was a security update, I think it had the date Nov 22 or something like that.
The packages I disabled before the update and restart were:
AAAservice, Beaconmanager, Briefing, Email, Facebook, Facebook app installer, Facebook app manager, GEARVR 3x, Health service, Instagram, Kies application BnR, Mmsservice, Nearby service, Onedrive, Print spooler, Remote controls, Samsung billing, Samsung Cloud, Samsung Gear, Samsung Mirrorlink, Samsung Print service, Samsung Push service, Samsung Setup wizard, Screen mirroring, Smartcardmanager, Smartcardservice (those 2 probably broke NFC) UIBCVirtualsoftkey (that broke the home button until I re enabled them), voice service & voice wake up.
Anyway, I guess push service broke the notification tray and the smartcardservices probably broke NFC. So, how might I fix those?
BTW just installed a clean push service apk, didn't change anything.
Reflashing should be unnecessary since the tool works without root and system should be untouched.
If enabling doesn't work I guess you're out of luck avoiding factory reset.

So there's simply no way to fix, in the software, what I did to break it?
Guess I'm never going near package disable apps ever again.
You may ask the developer for an idea...
Due to the sandbox system in Android you simply can't access the areas the apps mess around with if you don't have root. In addition those disablers use Knox..
Hi,
- BK Disabler did recommend all customers enable all disabled packages before system upgrade (OTA)
- BK Disabler is using Samsung SDK to work, it means if you uninstall BK Disabler app, it will reset to default (all packages will be enable). So, try to uninstall BK Disabler app, restart your phone and try to update firmware again!
- If it still not work well, backup all your data (copy to PC, Laptop...) before go Setting -> Backup and Reset ->Reset Factory
Contact with the developer at [email protected] to get more support
I mailed him, basically he can't help ATM.
How do I download the firmware (G935FXXU1BPJG) again? I found basically only this working link:
https://samsung-firmware.org/download/Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge/d804/PHN/G935FXXU1BPJG/G935FPHN1BPK1/
But it's going to take 8 hours.
Are there no official Samsung links? So where do these files come from?
I Haven't rooted my phone yet but it keeps telling me this when I open android pay, when I first got my phone I set my up my card but now it saying that phone is either rooted or bootloader unlocked which isn't the case.
On Vodafone UK, before this I used my OP3 with Magisk with Android Pay but I haven't used that since I've got my s8 so I'm not sure what the issue could be.
Any insight to this?
Besides the usual factory reset.
same here EE UK S8 not rooted (yet) but comes up with same error message. It worked fine on my rooted and hidden with magisk S6
edit - oh and factory reset doesn't work as I already tried that. I thought it might have had something to do with bringing over magisk app from my google backup but I specifically didnt install that the 2nd time around. Knox hasn't been tripped so its not that
I'm having the same issue on a Galaxy S8 via Tmobile. I've never rooted it, have no clue if the bootloader is unlocked and I'm stock since I reset the phone the first time I got the error. Still getting the error and Android pay help chat was not useful.
Same issue here, on Voda UK. I used Package Disabler pro and thinking I might have disabled something I need.
So since I had OEM unlock enabled after disabling it, it passes and safetynet now.
I had no problems adding cards, but a few days later when I wanted to add more cards, I get the error. I can't remember what I did in between that would've caused this, but definitely not rooting! I turned developer option to off and still get the error.
My S7 is rooted and TWRPed and have no problems adding cards!!!!???
Very weird. Working just fine on my rooted s8+ with magisk.
I'm on T-Mobile with a S8 and Android Pay connected to my PayPal is getting card read error everywhere I try to use it.
Safety net says everything is ok too. Not sure what's going on. I have the newest update and not rooted.

Hi Can you let me know how you managed to root with Magisk and get Android pay etc to work?
My phone:
Model: SM-G955F
SW: G955FXXU1AQF7

Hi all,
I already posted a question in the Official stock upgrade but it got lost in the other comments, so I'm trying my luck again.
I had an italian branded SM-G950F (OMN), I wanted to remove all the Vodafone stuff, so I installed a MULTI-CSC as per the official stock firmware upgrade thread, when I did it I had my Australian sim card in and I got a weird UK CSC (the multi CSC didn't have australia in it), after installing everything I noticed that Android Pay didn't work, so I did a factory reset with my italian sim card in and still Android Pay was complaining that my firmware was modified or rooted.
I decided to use an australian specific firmware so I downloaded an XSA firmware and did the procedure again.
At this stage Secure Folder and Samsung Pay work (the phone is NOT rooted, this update has been the only "mod" I have done) but Android Pay is still saying that my rom may be modified or rooted so it doesn't open.
It is pretty important for me because my back supports android pay but not samsung pay
The phone is not rooted, if I reboot the phone in download mode the warranty void bit is 0 (which is good).
If I use Root Checker Pro, under safety net tab, I get CTS profile match as FAIL, I was thinking this could cause Android Pay to fail.
any idea?
start to uninstall suspicious apps, then restart . worked with my un-rooted S8. OEM unlock: OFF

Hi mariuscrist,
I'm not sure what app can be suspicious, I have reinstalled the apps I had before the firmware update and I could use android pay then. I'll see what it can be, probably it could be worth to do a factory reset and test android pay before anything else?
Hi, let me just get this straight.
I installed TWRP on my J730G and then installed SuperSU afterwards. Tried the available custom roms I can download from here, but unfortunately, there was none that's stable and not buggy for the J730G-DS at the moment.
I had to flash stock firmware from odin and then just installed TWRP and SuperSU alone.
Now, I'm always getting this "Security Notice" notification
(screenshot attached) telling me there was unauthorized actions have been detected and I need to restart.
Restarted my phone several times but Im still getting the notification.
Can anyone help me get rid of this please? Thanks!

Managed to get rid of it with the help of @h.nocturna 's guide from the Galaxy S7 Edge: https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-s7-edge/how-to/guide-post-root-common-bugs-fixes-t3427600
Bug #3: Notification warning that system has been modified.
Fix #1: Disable com.samsung.android.securitylogagent & com.tmobile.pr.adapt using your favorite package disabler. This will hide all notifications associated with this app as well as the root check that you might have encountered.
Fix #2: This fix requires Xposed. You can follow the instructions to install Xposed HERE.
Then install the Xposed module NotifyClean, activate the module, and reboot the phone. You will then use this app to block the notification under the package com.samsung.android.securitylogagent by clicking on the package so that it is highlighted red. The notification should disappear!
Note: This app can also be used to hide the icon for WiFi Calling if it's annoying you. You can still use the WiFi calling function while hiding the notification.

I think in new samsung devices all roms and root developers say in the steps now you void your warrenty
So you are responsble for what you doing here
Sorry to say that
All you can do try to flash full firmware of your country may be fix samsung pay bot 100% sure
@anurag hacker
since your knox become 0x1, your warranty is void and it effect you based knox app like securefolder, sbrowser private mode, samsung health and also your samsung pay. If you want use the samsung pay you can try search in xda thread about mod samsung pay that can use with rooted device.
Edit: you can try use custom kernel that have fake knox.
There's a simple trick to get s health working
This is the reason I won't root any Samsung phones, unless they're outdated.

Root is far more valuable than some silly secure folder or Samsung pay. Which in any case can all be re-enabled with the right mods.
If you want something secure, store it in the cloud.
If you don't mind about modifying the ROM, then delete this Security Log Agent. It's the part of the Knox suite by the way.
Honestly I wouldn't implement Knox on ANY Samsung phone except for some really serious corporate devices. It's useless. As if Google's partly ugly security patches were not enough, we're also having Knox on our heads.
