Download issues in SBrowser - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Android 7.0
rooted with TWRP and SU
Stock
I have the problem that whenever I try to download a file with sbrowser the download symbol appears and goes away emediately. After a while it says that the download failed.
Tried already to disable Adaway and cleared data/cache of the download manager.
If I use the download manager from ES File Explorer it works.
Any ideas?

Facebook 1.3.0 won't install...

So I've been trying to update my Facebook 1.2.0 to 1.3.0 but I keep getting a "Installation was not successful" message from the Market. I tried removing the older version manually (Force-closed FB and cleared data in Settings; not showing in Installer in SystemPanel) but it still seems to be there since clicking on its icon on the homepage still opens it. Any way to actually take this P.O.S. outta here?! BTW, I am running Fresh 3.0.1 and had everything recently restored with TB.
Thanks!
there is a thread about this, find it - it has instructions
edit: to make it easy, check fresh updater
Uninstall using Root Explorer or Titanium Backup, reboot, then install the new version from yhe market.

Worked perfectly, thank you for the help!
delete the apk from system/apps using root exploter and then in my case "restart" then install from the android market.. thats how i did it
This is getting weird. Tried to Uninstall via ES File Manager's Application Manager and it says 'Uninstall Unsuccessful'. Then I tried just deleting the .apk from the system/app folder and it says the file 'cannot be deleted'. What the hell is going on here?!

Unable to install downloaded .apk

I've tried this a bunch of different ways and I'm unable to install any .apk that I download. I haven't tried downloading the .apk on my computer first though. So here's what I've tried;
Standard web browser - can't download says file not supported
Dolphin HD - able to download, get parse error installing from dolphin. No install button for APK in Astro File Manager
Xscope - able to download, parse error on install. Install button for APK in Astro File Manager but does not install
I do have the install unknown sources option turned on in application settings.
What am I missing here? I am rooted but nothing has been done since rooting.

Any reason you are not grabbing them from the market?
Why do you not have the stock browser?
Regarding the stock browser, you don't install it, you just drop it in system/app I believe.

1. Because it's not on the market :/
2. Standard web browser = stock browser
3. What?

Download the Astro Manager from the market. Then go to settings and enable browser download.
It could be an error with the apk itself. I get those errors sometimes where certain apks don't download correctly. Try another apk and see what happens.
I don't always complain, but when I do, I #BlameWes

Really?
Dolphin and xscope are in the market. I'm asking why are you not downloading them from the market?
I then asked, why do you not have the stock browser already? You said you just rooted and did nothing else... so... did you delete it or something?

You're misunderstanding him. He's trying to download a file and he's saying what happens when he tries to download this file on all these different browsers. He already has the browsers installed.

^ LOL, son of a bitc*... yeah, my bad OP... I was trying to figure out WTH you were doing.
Yes, I would recommend what another person said and get Astro and turn on the browser download option.
The error messages are for not a complete download (at least thats what I normally get in those situations).
I use apps installer from the market to install non market apps. Try it out
Apparently I didn't write my original post thoroughly enough. I have tried Astro already.

My nexus 7 can not download any file.
Flashed SmoothRom V3.2 and stuck on the android screen, so restore to my old rom.
However, I can not download any file from web browser or dropbox anymore.
But I can download and install Apps from Play store without problem.
And files in file manager like been hold by some program, can not delete any file.
The SD partition look like been protect and only Google play can use it.
Tried to flash other roms, still can't fix.
Please help.
Thanks

Upgrade?!?

I just recently bought a mojo and I am trying to update the new firmware MO0205-TS but everytime I click link it opens up ES file explorer and the window pops up to download but always fails and never actually downloads the update. Anyone know how to fix this?
Is ES explorer your default download manager by any chance?
Try to uninstall ES file explorer and reinstall it after the upgrade. The steps to upgrade are here: http://mojo.madcatz.com/faq.html
Nah that didn't work. When I click the link now it says it can display webpage. It at least had a pop up window showing it was trying to download when I had the Es file explorer installed.
I see. Well the easiest way would be to download the zip file from your PC. If you have a SD card handy that makes things easier. You can then transfer it to your MOJO. (direct link here)

.apks "Program was not installed"

Hey guys,

It everytime fails by saying "Program was not installed" - installations via Playstore do work, tho.
Of course i have activated the setting to install 3rd party apps.
i'm using a rooted, but stock rom s7 Edge.
What apps are you trying to install.

Adaway for example
Does the error only occur when you dl from a browser, then click on the notification when finished?
I open the .apk by selecting it in My Files, should be listed under 'Recent Files.'

The Error also occurs also when i try to install it via Total Commander (a root Browser), MyFiles and via Browser
Tried it with another .apk, still the same "App was not installed" error
Try going into the app manager, hitting more and selecting show system apps, then clear the data of Package Installer
