Idk , tho u can try at ur own risk .. I think it'll work
Download the T715 Nougat. Extract everything..
Transfer boot.IMG , system.IMG , hidden.IMG , cache.IMG only to ur tab ..
You must have twrp installed in ur Tab 715Y .. Wipe ur device and
Now just click install then install IMG then choose the files u have saved in ur tab.. You must flash respective files with the respective partition .. when u finish just boot up and you'll get nougat ..

@majorkid - which ODIN ROM version did you use to install Nougat? i followed your steps using T715XXU2CQCL_T715O2U2CQE1_O2U and the size of the hidden image is larger than target device". all the other images flashed without issue.

guess the hidden image partion didn't matter on my device... my 715Y booted and is up and running with nougat.

Great to hear that you've successfully flashed T715 rom nougat to T715Y. I'm hoping I could do the same with your help. I got a stock tabs2, which is currently on MM6.01 with security June2016 I have not odin flashed this for quite sometime now.
Could you be kind enough to write down step by step what you did to get your device to nougat? I have downloaded the latest nougat rom from sammobile.
Thanks in advance!

Here are the steps I used and they worked for me. They're similar to the steps posted above. Obviously, follow/execute at your own risk… ?
Downloaded a Nougat/7.0 SM-T715 ROM from sammobile.com
Used 7-Zip to extract the system.img, cache.img, boot.img and hidden.img
Copied the 4 img files to my microSD card
Booted to TWRP, created a TWRP backup
Navigated to Wipe and chose “Swipe to Factory Reset”
While in TWRP, choose INSTALL-->Install Image-->navigated to the location where i saved img files in #3 above and installed each one
Rebooted to System and once booted, reinstalled apps
hope this helps.

Thanks. I was hoping I could keep my stock recovery and flash this using Odin tool. Could anyone point me to the tutorial on how to repackage the stock rom (single file) into the 4 files (AP, BL, CP,& CSC) to flash in Odin. Failing this I will definitely give the twrp route a try.
Cheers!:good:

If I may ask, what twrp release you use? I cannot install it using latest twrp for sm-t715y. I mean, when I go to install img, there are no img file shown while I already extracted all 4 files mentioned.
Thanks for kind help.

i'm using the latest version for the SM-T715Y. also, you completed Step 6, right? This is where you change the file type you're installing from a "zip" to an "img" file before navigating to the location where you saved the img files.

How's the LTE signal with this ROM? I get great signal at the moment (on official 6.0.1) and don't want to lose any of that installing this Nougat ROM. If signal is unaffected then it's a goer.

Upgrade to 5.1 beta?

Hello Everyone, I have ALE-L21 and my current firmware is C185B130 (apparently C185 is UAE region but i live in pakistan). Device is bootloader unlocked, rooted with TWRP installed.
I have a TWRP backup of current rom. I wanna try the 5.1 beta released for Europe but it says here ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/general/beta-firmware-p8-lite-ale-l21-c432b008-t3243228 ) that i need C432B132 to upgrade to this. So I downloaded this firmware(C432B132) from Huawei website. There were two folders in it, dload and CUSTOM(not sure what that for). I extracted system.img, recovery.img, CUST.img, boot.img from UPDATE.APP given in the dload folder. So here is what i'm thinking.
1) Flashing the extracted system.img, recovery.img, CUST.img, boot.img would get me to C432B132?
2) After i install B132 can I upgrade to 5.1 using EMUI local update?
3) If something goes wrong, can I just flash TWRP and restore the backup?
-
Or this whole idea is foolish and i would screw up my phone after flashing system, cust and boot of some other firmware designed for some other region???

No this is wrong
1. You need to downgrade to B052
2. Install B136a
3. Install B008(Android 5.1.1)
After each install is recommended to make wipe
Thanks

I dont think that you need to go all the way to B052 and then flash the required version
This is what i did:
1) Flashed 132 cust, recovery, boot, system. My build number changed to something like balong ( I dont remember exactly :silly: ).
2) I flashed the UPDATE.APP file that was in the CUSTOM folder (that came with B132 rar file) via EMUI and it restored my build to B132.
3) Tried updating to 5.1 via EMUI but failed.
4) To give it a last try, I downloaded and flashed my phone with CUST, recovery, system, boot.img of B136a and then the update worked. My phone is now 5.1.1 B006
Thanks for the reply mate :good:

yeah its working fine. I think the battery life has improved a little bit or maybe it is just because i haven't installed much apps after flashing this rom compared to when I was using the B130. The only thing i miss from B130 is that small 2g, 3g written on the signal bars. This one only shows the 2g or 3g network type when the mobile data is turned on. Huawei cloud is also not present in it so you may wanna backup your contacts and stuff

Give It a try. If i doesn't work then you can just flash 132->136 and then apply update. But there maybe some problem with the version number changing to "BALONG". I faced this problem when I flashed 132 over my 130 but then I applied UPDATE.APP file(the small file in the custom folder) via EMUI Updater and it fixed the version number. But the 136a rom did not had any UPDATE.APP in custom folder so I dont know what to do if you get a version number problem. You can try flashing the 5.1 update via EMUI and maybe it will fix the version number problem (if it happened in the first place) or you can always goto 132->136 and apply 5.1

yes you need to unlock the boot loader. What exactly do you mean by double tap issue? are you talking about the double tap to wake feature not working sometimes? Yes the DoubletapToWake dont works sometime which can be very annoying so I just disabled that feature and using the power button ever since. As for the typing issue, No I'm not facing any typing issues, never did on the B130 and not on this 5.1 version. Try using someother keyboard app?

** DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT A DEVELOPER. I DO THIS AS A HOBBY AND SHARE MY FINDINGS IN CASE SOMEONE ELSE FINDS THEM USEFUL. **
** THIS WORKED ON MY DEVICE BUT IT MAY NOT WORK ON YOURS. APPLY AT YOUR OWN RISK **** The following are instruction for installing Android N Preview 2 image released by Google on 4/13/2016. After the installation you will have TWRP recovery 3.0.2-0 with the data partition erased and unencrypted if you use method 2, which means you will have ~ 3GB more space and ~ 10 seconds faster boot speed **Always backup your data before flashing something a total stranger gives you!
Method 1: Flash update through TWRP recovery (keeps your data and current recovery)
1- You need to have TWRP installed on your phone.
2- Download this flashable zip..
3- Copy to the phone internal storage and flash via recovery.
4- Reboot. Your data should still be intact and your OS is upgraded to N Preview 2. If your internal storage is unencrypted before flashing it remains unencrypted.
For some people this didn't work. It seems to be the case when you have been encrypted by your previous Android N installation, in which case TWRP seems to have difficulty reading the file, and that seemingly Preview 2 doesn't play nice with TWRP. It works best when you are unencrypted and your recovery is 3.0.2-0. Thanks to @gammaxgoblin, @blitzerking1, @Michael in ATL, @HueyT, and @PhillyFlyer for debugging and hints.
Method 2: Flash update using a computer (wipes everything, unencrypts data, and upgrades TWRP)
1- ALL of your data including the internal storage will be lost so make a backup. (If you know what you are doing and you are coming from unencrypted Marshmallow you can modify the instructions to not lose data but I won't help you with that).
2- Download this file. Note that it is NOT a flashable zip.
3- Unzip into a folder of your choice on your PC.
4- Open a command window (cmd) and cd to this directory. then run the following:
Code:
flash-all
5- Wait until prompted, then press key to reboot the phone.
6- Your data is wiped and your OS is upgraded to N with unencrypted internal storage. Your TWRP is also upgraded to 3.0.2-0.
Technical details: this is a repacking of the Google image with a modified Kernel and removed userdata and recovery images. Everything else is stock.
Problem downloading from Mega on a mobile browser? Change the page setting to "Request desktop site".
About root and other issues
To obtain root after installing this update you should flash SuperSU 2.71 (or higher) in recovery. Get it from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/2014-09-02-supersu-v2-05-t2868133. Despite the fact that SuperSU 2.71 is supposedly re-written for Android N, there are still some apps that seem to have a problem obtaining root. The commonest complaint on this thread so far has been about Adaway. If you want to block Ads just manually do what Adaway does. Download a hosts file from any ad block list server such as http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm, copy the files on your sdcard, boot the phone into recovery, and using the TWRP file manager replace the file /system/etc/hosts with this file and set its permissions to 644 (rw-r--r--).

Same error for me as well. I can extract the zip and view the file it is talking about. I also tried on TWRP 3.0.1-0 and TWRP 3.0.2-0
Everything is working perfect for me with the new zip. I have a unencrypted phone and used 3.0.2 TWRP.

Just to help with the installation of method 2, holding shift and right clicking a blank space in your unzipped folder, you can click open command window here. That will save you having to CD all the way to it.

I did method 1. It upgraded fine. All my data remained. It killed root (expected this) and my TWRP. I was unencrypted before attempting.
I went and downloaded the latest TWRP and flashed via fastboot. Then downloaded latest SuperSU from http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/2014-09-02-supersu-v2-05-t2868133 and flashed it via my newly installed TWRP. Root confirmed and all is well.

You may have to flash a previous stable release of marshmallow or lollipop from Google first and then try this because something seems to be corrupted in your system.

Cant flash stock rom

Hi guys. M currently usimg Nephilim Rom V2. I was trying to flash b594 stock rom. Whenever i tried to install it with stock recovery it just says no update.app is found. Even though i extracted the update.zip file and put it in internal storage in dload folder. I cant even flash it through fastboot because it gives error even though i extracted the img files through Huawei extractor. Can anyone help!!!!
What kind of error fastboot method gives you? I always have went back to stock rom by flashing a rom in fastboot and never had problems with it
While flashing system.img i got error cant load system.img. even though it's in the same folder as adb is. There was also an error whule flashing recovery extracted from update.zip. i was flashing the recovery.img only and it says errot:too many links.

So you want your original firmware correct ? If so , go here: http://consumer.huawei.com/nl-en/support/downloads/detail/index.htm?id=82749
Change region (if needed) find your phone and download that.
Once you downloaded it:
1. put it on your sd card
1.1 Since when you download the file, its gonna be in .zip or .rar format, you are gonna need to extract that and what you get out of that file (its gonna be a folder called dload) put that whole thing "dload" on to your sdcard. ( put in in a main folder of your sd card its called root folder, its where your main folders are like pictures, DCIM etc.)
2. turn off your phone leave it for a sec
3. then hold all 3 buttons ( power ,volume up , volume down) and it should start installing the thing.
Hope this helps.
Check this

It's on honor 4x forum but it says it works on p8lite android 5.0 or higher.
Are you able to install stock recovery through adb? If you are, you can easily use Huawei's recovery to flash the stock firmware

[GUIDE]Restoring Honor 7x (L22) back to stock for OTA (required partitions only)

This will restore your Indian variant Honor 7x back to stock, in case you have rooted or flashed TWRP before. After this you can get OTA updates and they will flash fine. If you want to manually flash OTA updates, you can continue to next video after watching this
I suggest you to watch it carefully and do same as I did to prevent any damages.

Thanks for the helpfull information.
I have the files for BND-L24 uploaded and want to share same method of restore , for US version. As the method is the same.
Would it be ok to link to your thread from a new thread with L24 files attached , or add the backup here and just change the title?

All the post I see about manually flashing Oreo say you CAN NOT return to emui 5. So I would believe no
**EDIT**
I see now on firmware finder there are roll-back to emui 5.1 full-ota packages.
right now only for
BND-AL00
BND-AL10
BND-TL10
but perhaps after flashing that full ota to get partition table back , then follow this method from here to get correct regional specific parts back.
All still untested at this point
Suppose if I install Other rom first like AOSP or RR?

I have no first hand information. Just that for RR you need to first update to Oreo, so same as before, the information at this point is, NO , roll-back is not able.
need help please

Your other post show you are on Oreo. This method, files linked are Android nougat.
You need to replace twrp with stock recovery, then wipe cache from there. This should fix your bootloop ,caused by wipeimg cache in twrp. Unless there is more to the story than you tell.

Well it twrp is not staying on, then fastboot will have to be the method to recover
Hope this will work
fastboot format cache
fastboot format userdata
If those not work, or not allowed try
fastboot -w

the downgrade is tricky , if not done with full downgrade files. It is pretty much a half full update, then restore a backup. There are many things that could cause trouble with this.
Did you try to factory reset after failed OTA?

You updated to Oreo, correct. Of course you did.
The update.zip has inside (extract it) update.app. use heawei update extractor to extract that file. You will get the system.img there. That one will be the correct one for your model and build number.
If yo I updated from regular ota, you may not have this zip file
If this the case you. Will need to download it. From pro-teammt.ru
Link if you need it.

you "should " only need the one main "update.zip" file to extract system.img
but can use all three to make full restore

Downgrading to Nougat is not recommended, because EMUI 8 is Treble supported.
That means it has dozens of new partitions and partition lengths. Many people have screwed their phone trying to downgrade.
Unless you have foolproof method of downgrading and correct 'downgrade firmware' (yes, it's different, cause it will re-write all the partitions again), Don't do it.

I have a similar problem and I cannot get back to stock from the RR oero
I used the method to upgrade from 5.1 to oero 8.0 here https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-7x/how-to/guide-honor-7x-flash-oreo-update-t3781649/
Then used the Openkirin RR install method using stock recovery. - all goin good but RR has to many crashes.
I have tried to roll back to Stock using the same HWOTA method putting the update files int HWOTA 8 folder, all looks good in twrp and I wipe Cache and Dalvik but it still reboots into RR
I've noticed in Twrp in red letters it says cannot find partition /system
Rebooting into recovery after using to install TWRP it first boots into stock recovery then when i press factory reset it will boot into TWRP.
