New update available - Google Pixel XL Guides, News, & Discussion

I don't have much info, it's downloading and installing as I type this, but it is probably just a security patch. I was kind if surprised to see it. I just checked under system updates in settings and bang it said a 62.5 mb file was ready to install. Stock Google Play Pixel XL running a Verizon SIM.

Per that link, if you re-flash the April bootloader and re-recovery/re-root it'll work.
Anyone test this?

And it begins.......

Please don't ask ETA. Have to get it squared away, updated and tested before I feel comfortable releasing it to the public. Since we have no verifiable way of restoring yet.

Root methods are out of my realm. So I can't help there. I don't even know if root is achieved if boot loader can be unlocked on that firmware
USB OTG works. But for some reason /sdcard doesn't.

9/21/16 OTA Update

Just received a notification for an update. It weighs in at about 404MB.
Does anyone know if this update limits the battery to 60%? I won't Be able to swap out my Note 7 until this weekend so I'm hesitant to install it.

I updated and it didn't limit the battery for my device. All it did was give me a notification everytime I plug it in to charge saying that I should turn the device off and should be exchange as soon as possible.
The update as well changes the UI a bit in the notification pull down area
too bad the store I went to didn't have the replacements yet. LOL
Please search prior to make a new thread. This is already discussed in the thread below:

Sprint update.

Just received an update, still downloading. It does mention color optimization. So possibly the red tint fix.

Naive Magisk Update question.

Hello XDA,
A simple and naive question.
Magisk just updated on my OnePlus 8 Pro (IN2025). I updated the manager to the latest version -> d0896984(316).
I suppose I should also update the Magisk to the latest (pic1)
When I click update, which option should I select ? - See pic 2
I just want the Magisk to be updated without having to reconfigure / reinstall apps / reset the phone etc.
