T580 wifi problem - Samsung Galaxy Tab A series Questions & Answers

A few days ago, the 5ghz wifi disappeared from my tablet, the 2.4 is still there and can connect. I flashed the stock firmware thru odin, and the stock firmware, didn't show the 5ghz wifi. I have other devices that are connected to the 5ghz, so not sure why it isn't on this tablet anymore

[Q] Cannot connect to 2.4GHz WiFi

Hi,
I purchased a used S4 recently, when I first unboxed the phone it connected to my home network just fine and WiFi was working great. After running the OTA update (I know it was dumb, but I my mind was numbed by the shiny new phone), I could no longer connect to my home network, and could only see a few of the nearly 20 networks I could see before the update.
After a lot of experimenting, I finally figured out that I simply could not see any 2.4 GHz networks on my phone! I can connect fine to 5 GHz networks and they work well, but I can't even see the 2.4 GHz networks. Any ideas on how I can fix this? I've tried searching the XDA forums and Googling the issue without much luck. Here's the closest thing I've found.
I'm a software engineer with some background in hardware, so I don't have any problems doing any kind of software or possibly even hardware mods to get it working. For completeness, I've detailed all the steps I've taken so far:
0. (First unboxed the phone, WiFi worked normally I was happily connected to my network)
1. Ran OTA update
2. WiFi quit working (displayed above symptoms)
3. Rooted phone (towelroot) and installed safestrap (3.7.2) following the last section of this post. - Issue persisted
4. Installed SHOstock ROM - Issue persisted
5. Followed entire Odin/stock re-flash using the same link above - When the phone first turned on after the NB1 install, it picked up my network. I thought this was an indication that it was going to work so I continued following the guide
6. Updated to NC1 - issue returned
7. Used Odin to restore phone to NB1 again - same issue
8. Realized only 5 GHz networks show up
9. Ran through complete re-install and am currently rooted with safestrap running LightRom v13 with the NC1 modules installed
10. Installed this WiFi band switcher. Whenever I switch to 5 GHz or auto I can see and connect to 5 GHz networks. When I switch to 2.4 GHz nothing shows up and when I hit scan it acts like it's not doing anything.

Oneplus 5 does not connect to wifi networks

Hello!
My Oneplus 5 does not connect to any wifi networks. It is able to see all wifi networks in the range, and is also able to save the network if the password entered is correct, however, it won't actually connect to any network that is saved. I have tried using advanced options while connecting to a network to change from DHCP to Static settings, but it still won't connect to any network. I have also tried changing the wifi band frequencies (2.4 and 5 Ghz individually) to connect to a network but that too does not help. Mobile Data and carrier signal on the other hand work flawlessly, and so does bluetooth connectivity, NFC and personal hotspot (which is why I am very confused). I should also mention that when it fails to connect to a saved wifi network, it occassionally displays "Disabled" under the network SSID (replacing "Saved").
I have changed 3 different ROMs (LOS, stock OOS and No Limits ROM, even replaced the stock kernel with blu_spark r69 when I tried using No Limits and stock OOS to try and see if that fixed the problem), but the phone just won't connect to any detected/saved network using any of those ROMs. I have reverted it fully back to stock now (OOS 4.5.14 and stock kernel and stock recovery) and am still having the same problem.
Sorry if this issue has been solved before and if I am reposting something, but I really need this fixed ASAP and am not able to find a working solution after searching the forums and googling the whole day. Please help me! Thanks!
Edit: finally fixed the problem thanks to Ivints and PeterGuru. Check out the post that Ivints linked below (especially the comments in page 2 of the same)

Thank you so much Ivints! I'm trying to fix it right now with the solutions I got from the post.
I'm having exactly the same problem that the guy who started that post had. I'll let you know when I fix it and everything goes well again! Thanks again, bud!
if you want to stay on Nougat look for the O2N revert flash file it's in the Oxygen 5 beta threads that will let you get back to a nougat based rom.
The Oreo update touched other partitions outside of /system so those wifi drivers don't work with Nougat anymore

I see... I'll look for that thread and get the flash file! thanks! I'm currently using xXx's No Limits 9.2 OB03 ROM with bluspark 3.2.1 recovery and bluspark r77 (Oneplus 5). The only reason that I feel like reverting back to Nougat is that I want to be able to use Xposed again. So i guess I have that option in hand not too! Thanks, bud!
Hello there my friends, i have a problem with my op5
its about wifi: it doesn t see my wifi anymore. idk why
it s been connected to this wifi 2 years ,even after switching roms kernels, firmwares
and now , it doesnt see the wifi no more, actually it sees it, in `Saved` section, but when i press on it to connect
it says ` not in the area` but my other op6 its connected no problem
and i even tried through qr code, it says ` check ur connection and try again`
Just one add-on cause I was just a few minutes away from formatting my data. My OP5 unlocked rooted, rest stock, wasnt connecting to my home wifis (2,4ghz and 5ghz). I flashed a full ota zip. I deleted wifi bluetooth via backups settings.
But I found out that connecting to an iphone hotspot worked. So I entered manually the network SSID + password although the same network name was already in my wifi list (with marking: "saved"). I then clicked on the second "new" same wifi and it directly connected to my home wifi. Same happened to the 5ghz network. I then deleted the old 2 ones.
I have no idea why this happened, I only tried to get VoLTE/Wifi Call running with the magisk module. This might changed sth but I dont get the connection here since there should be no interference...

5ghz wifi hotspot

Hi I only really use my S4 i9505 as a wifi hotspot. I am using lineage 16 and wanted to enable 5ghz wifi hotspot for a better connection for my Android TV box, it doesn't have strong wifi. I've tried stock rom and lineage 13,14,15 and 16 but none work. Does anyone know latest version of android that 5ghz wifi works? If you could share a link to a rom that it works that would be great. Thanks.
The fact you are having issues even on the stock ROM means this isn't something changing versions of Android can fix. This may well be a limitation of the WiFi radio hardware itself, or there is an issue with the hardware. You can try flashing modem files in Odin and see if things improve, but I doubt it will help.
Yes I might try flash modem files with Odin but I need someone to confirm that this device even supports 5ghz hotspot. There is no option in stock rom to choose 5ghz in hotspot settings. If someone can confirm it working with there Galaxy S4 I will try flashing modem with Odin.
The S4 supports 5GHz hotspots. When configuring the hotspot, accessing the advanced options (menu at upper right) in the hotspot config screen should reveal a setting for 2.4 or 5GHz. If you've set that to 5GHz and it still doesn't help, then you're encountering interference from another WiFi source. Flashing a modem likely will not help; you'd have to move away from the source of the interference.
If you don't have the setting at all then you're limited to 2.4GHz.

first thing to establish is does 5ghz wifi work?
are you able to connect from your S4 to a 5ghz access point?
If that works then you do not need to change modem files.
It connects to a 5ghz wifi hotspot I started with my Mipad 4. Mipad only has wifi that's why it says no internet connection. I don't think the S4 is capable of starting a 5ghz hotspot even know it can connect to them. I've tried few stock custom Roms but they don't have a setting for 5ghz hotspot only advanced settings is choose channel 1 to 11 channels. Tried lineage 12,13,14,15 and 16, reserection Remix Android 7.1. All have setting for 5ghz hotspot but starting hotspot returns error.
