What are you trying to say ? You want to update the system apps when newer versions found on apkmirror? That doesn't work anymore if your security patch is newer then february. That's why i rooted my phone. I was on the january patch and updated with no problem.. got an OTA and march security patch and suddenly no more updating systemapp..

Not going to work.. you Will have you dissable the apps with an package dissabler.. so they don't appear in your app drawrer

You dont need root or a package disabler you can disable or uninstall any package you want without root all you need is the android debug bridge 1.0.32 and to know what commands to enter i can disable camera apps and even the user intwrface and lockscreen without root which might i add is a major security flaw as anyone's passcode facelock and finger prints can be removed and access gotten to the system with all the files in it i will not be sharing how to do this with you in any way shape of form i am just lucky i found it on my device and have now patched it,
Anyhow back to your problem ill give you a tip however go to the debug bridge and type "adb shell" then "pm list packages" it will display the package names take note of what ones you dont want now type "pm disable -k --user 0 <packagename>" if this last command does not work remove -k from command it will work congrats you have now disabled all the packages you needed,
Also i dunno bout you but before i flashed TWRP and made knoe 0x1 i rooted with CF-AUTO root with stock 6.0 recovery and the knox stayed 0x0 even in recovery ??? As i mentioned only when i flashed with TWRP it went 0x1, possibly just my logic board and a fluke but who knows
Hope this can help someone out if they read it

Inside supersu You have the option, but I prefer reinstall stock firmware. If you read more you can optimize your root phone.

I just installed SuperSU from the Play Store; it asked for an update, and I clicked on "normal" My device then rebooted and now it won't even start. I wiped the cash data and reset the device to factory settings and it won't start again. All I get is the "Galaxy Edge+" logo with 'custom binary was blocked by FAP' and 'kernel is not seanorid enforced' highlighted in yellow! I'm freaking out here! Did I just bricked my phone?

I've done that already, and my phone is running just fine now. Although I didn't download the firmware from sammobile, and I got it from android-updates.com, which is slightly different, and contains apps and games pre-installed in it. Thanks a lot for your suggestion, and I promise I'll keep that mind. After all, I'm just starting to use android, and this is my first "failed" attempt as aneeded android user. I got to admit that I didn't face such complicated problems with iOS ?

Secret mode in Samsung browser gone after root

I recently rooted with cf autoroot and now secret mode with fingerprint authentication from the Samsung browser is gone. If I press more I can open a secret tab, but without fingerprint. Is there anyway I can get this back?

Your private mode must be enabled already. That's why. To enable private mode, you need a pin / fingerprint.

Samsung decided with marshmallow to disable that feature if the Knox flag was triggered. You need the modded apk which removes this check.

I would recomend you to download a custom rom which has the modded apk, extract the apk from the rom, delete yours and reboot. Then put the modded apk in the exact place where the original was, put rw-r-r permissions and reboot

Maybe deleting all the update before flashing the zip will help.

I would still like to know if this is possible to implement. I'm currently using ther superman ROM which doesn't have the modded apk, I talked with the developer and he will look into it, but this is a very important feature for me and I really need it.

Even if you flash the original firmware, you will not be able to use the security features anymore (in some custom roms, some features do work). Once you root, the knox flag changes permanently!

I have J500FN and i have found following knox apks on Marshmallow, but it will be same on J5 2016.
The security notice you are getting is related to SecurityLogAgent apk i guess.
Anyway, remove following files/folders, then go in recovery and wipe cache & dalvik-cache. Then reboot your phone.
Code:
/system/tima_measurement_info;
/system/container;
/system/preloadedmdm;
[B][COLOR="Blue"]# /system/app[/COLOR][/B]
/system/app/BBCAgent;
/system/app/BCService;
/system/app/ELMAgent;
/system/app/KnoxAppsUpdateAgent;
/system/app/KnoxAttestationAgent;
/system/app/KnoxAttestationAgent;
/system/app/KnoxFolderContainer;
/system/app/KnoxSetupWizardClient;
/system/app/KnoxSwitcher;
/system/app/mcRegistry;
/system/app/MDMApp;
/system/app/MyKNOXSetupWizard;
/system/app/RCPComponents;
/system/app/SamsungDLPService;
/system/app/SecurityLogAgent;
/system/app/SilentLog;
/system/app/SysScope;
/system/app/UniversalMDMClient;
[B][COLOR="Blue"]# /system/priv-app[/COLOR][/B]
/system/priv-app/DiagMonAgent;
/system/priv-app/Fmm;
/system/priv-app/FotaAgent;
/system/priv-app/KLMSAgent;
/system/priv-app/SKMSAgent;
/system/priv-app/SOAgent;
/system/priv-app/SPDClient;
/system/priv-app/wssyncmlnps2;
NOTES:
1) SysScope, DiagMonAgent, Fmm, FotaAgent and wssyncmlnps2. But since you are rooted, you can delete them too.
2) Touchwiz will never be knox free even if you delete these apks. The ramdisk has knox crap too (which can be removed), but the whole Touchwiz (system apks) has knox and other crap related to it in apks, so you cant get rid of that.

I suggest you to add/modify following lines to build.prop too:

ro.config.knox=0

You can't.

You can try this script on your device. I suggest you backup with TWRP first.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/sa...script-knox-removal-script-galaxy-a3-t3451358
However as suggested its totally unnecessary to remove knox as it doesn't affect root. Simply freezing or removing the log agent is all that is required.

Non root s8 unable to update

Dear all
I have s8 non root. I am unable to software update. I suspect is because i adb greenify the aggressive doze.
Anyway to update? Thanks in advance.
I didn't know greenify works w/o root. Installed it again and don't like the way non-root works. I'd imagine, you just reverse what you did and try again then redo your modifications.
Are you using the original firmware for your phone? If all else fails try smart switch on the pc.

I'm not sure if the greenify settings stick after it's been uninstalled so you may want to reinstall it and revert all settings to stock to see if that'll help. Worst case, you can just use Samsung Switch program to update manually or use Odin to update. Alternatively, you can try to reset the phone to stock to see if that helps.
Go to download mode (Power down, bixby and power key) and see if Knox is tripped 0x1 instead of 0x0
