boot loop? restarting - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My phone restarts and goes to a boot loop when I remove it from charging. Phone cannot open properly when it's not charging/plug. Same goes to recovery mode it cannot go to recovery mode when it's not plug. When I unplug it when properly booted it restarts and goes to a boot loop again. What could be the possible reasons why?
I use a custom ROM cm13. And have not tampered with anything to it. The last time was flashing googleapps. It just started restarting. And eventually worsen to the situation today when it restart it fails to boot and stuck on boot loop unless plugg.

Have you swapped the battery so far?

Not yet. I have research and found threads having similar problems. Most seemed to fix this issue by replacing battery. I have yet to try without buying a new battery lol.

[Q] Is my phone bricked?

I have a Galaxy S4 (US Cellular R970) that I installed TWRP on and tried to install the nexus boot animation, cyangenmod, and gapps. I flashed them on the phone using twrp touch and it gave me no errors. I tried to boot my phone and it was stuck loading the cyangenmod boot screen so i turned it off and went to bed because i was tired. It was on the charger but it didn't go past the empty battery with the loading sign in the center but i figured nothing of it. When i woke up it hadn't charged at all and now it doesn't boot into recovery mode so i cant restore the system. Is there anything I can do, computer wise to reset my phone? I can enter Download mode. I cannot charge my battery and it is at 0%.
Hello, your device is soft-bricked, nothing dangerous
Follow this guide to restore stock firmware through Odin

You need to charge your battery or maybe you can go into download mode while plugged into the charger and flash a stock rom. Then you can charge your phone while it's off.

Battery is OK, kernel doesn't work so battery can't be charged in lpm mode. All that he should do is to reflash stock through Odin

I know. But he says his battery is at 0%. Thus at the moment it's impossible for him to flash a stock rom.

[Q] S5 wont boot (TW Lollipop) 900F

Hi there,
I just restarted my 900F S5 and it now it just won't boot up.
It actually goes like this: shows the boot logo - samsung galaxy s5 and powered by android down there... then it normally switches to a samsung logo with the animation and animation sound, then it normally vibrates and adjust the brihtness of display. And thats basically when it goes wrong, it stays like this for about a minute and then there goes a black screen, with all the services popping out that they forced closed. I tried removing battery, wiping cache. Don't wanna wipe data if anyone has any ideas.
Thanks.
Rooted and custom recovery/ROM?

(Help) S5 suddenly goes on a reboot rampage

Hi guys! So I am facing a situation with my S5,it started only a few weeks ago. The problem is my S5 sometimes goes on a reboot rampage, first it would get stuck on some app, then it would vibrate once and then restart again with two vibrations. After that it would get stuck on home screen and keeps rebooting it self in the same manner. And after some time of repeating this process, it would start working properly.
Now I believe it to be related to either a motherboard or a battery problem.
So can you guys tell some way to check my motherboard without opening my device?

Try to flash stock rom via odin.

Unresponsive touch screen

Perhaps my Nexus is showing its age. . Recently, the tablet crashed after rebooting and the screen went blank and would not respond.
I rebooted but the Nexus is stuck in a boot loop, showing only the Google logo.
When I boot into recovery, my TWRP recovery loads, but does not respond to the screen touches, at all.
Any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks in advance

Ok if you can boot into fastboot than this is good. What you need to do is re flash your twrp recovery if you have backups you will most likely lose them, at this point I have no other suggestions this happened to me and by reflashing twrp and a new compatible rom with gapps should be fine.

I had a similar problem, but in my case the flex cable that connects to the screen was partly loose. You'll have to open the tablet and check it out. I suggest that before any re-flashing.
