Daydream View - LG G6 Questions and Answers

I understand the LG G6 is not Daydream compatible. I have a Daydream view though and like to use it from time to time. I'm just wondering if I could use it as a cardboard viewer. I'm on the fence about getting a G6. I was surprised to see it's not Daydream compatible

Where is it that it's not daydream compatible? I think it's just called screen saver. Has the same options as far as I know.

Daydream is what VR is being called these days..

Ah, well then never mind. My guess would be the aspect ratio making it incompatible.

You could try this. http://www.vrheads.com/how-manually-enable-daydream-phones-google-has-not-approved
I believe it is because to be certified daydream it has to have an amoled screen vs our ips lcd (which I personally prefer as far as how good the g6 screen looks)

My bad. Hope that is coming soon.

I tried it on an htc bolt and daydream worked fine so when root comes we will be able to enjoy it.

I tryed to download apk of the last update of daydream, I install it, and after the initial setup, it says that the phone is incompatible and if I click ok it close the VR view. But I try it again and after click ok it starts. Actually I don't have a daydream viewer, if someone with it can try if it full functionally it would be great.

The Weather Flip clock widget

In the resources files from Manup456 eclair 2.0.1 v1.5 has a resources pack, in this resources pack is a weather flip clock widget, I was able to get this installed however it did not display quite right, might install again and take a screen shot, I was wondering, because it installed and displayed all the correct information, just the display was just all compressed and out of place. could someone code this for the nexus one since it is already installable, just does not display right, Will donate for this, I know there are other methods, i think, but I like this one.

Nice Ace, I was thinking about starting a thread where we could post our pics we take with our Nexus Ones. The Screen Resolution thing is what I was thinking too. I am just not at a coding level yet. It's all installed and I been studying, but I don't really have people to give me the proper training, guess I better get back in class.
Anyway, thx for the response and enjoy falling in love with your N1.
This is the first pic I took, with FXcamera on my nexus.

The one in the resource pack is an old version of the donate weather flip clock for sale in the market. The newest version in the market supports 2.0 ROMs, which means it will auto adjust for the resolution and look right. The one Manup provided is the last free version of it before it started to be a donation only version, IIRC, and is only comaptiable with the G1.

Nesux 7 and OnLive not working.

Anyone manage to get onlive working on their stock nexus 7, mine seems to hang at the screen provided. Doesn't seem to ever move past this screen... works great on my Galaxy Nexus

Just now tried it, and was playing dark siders on it. Have you tried un installing and reinstalling? I'm sure you did, but just figured I'd ask just in case...

Bump, would love to get this working....
Works fine for me too - must be an issue with your device.

Onlive may not be around much longer. At least not in its current form.

They were bought out and put in a protective bankruptcy status that is similar to receivership. Their investors and the receiver/protector have huge vested interest in keeping onlive around. But settop boxes might go the way of the dodo.
Works for me

ok thanks guys, i will have to restart everything and try again, will post results when i get around to it:
OK
So after locking and unlocking the boot loader again, and restarting from scratch onlive is working great

Screen Surface Area Comparisons

Alas the S8 and S8+ have messed up our understanding of phone sizes....
Apparently 6.2 inches may not mean as screen real estate as one might have thought given the aspect ratios.
Is it possible to work out the screen surface area of various phones so that true comparisons can be made?

See if this helps or further confuses the issue.

Iris scanner is SO fast!

I originally thought the Iris scanner was just a gimmick. I decided to try it with secure folder and its amazingly fast. You don't even have to look at it straight on like the demo tells you to. It pretty much just instantly unlocks

It said that for me until I got the perfect angle for the initial scan. Now it's SUPER fast as well. Those reviewers knocking it now seem like they rushed their review and didn't actually spend quality time trying it out.
Same here.... was slow, then did a good initial scan, now it's super fast.

Like the fingerprint sensor you want to record your prints/iris' the same way you plan to use them.
I.E. don't open your eyes like a clown because if you do you will need to do that everytime you unlock your phone!

weird, I just tried it again and was super fast.
Mine is amazingly fast and works at odd angles. It even works when I am wearing my Serengeti sunglasses.

Night Sight

I noticed Night Sight looks incredible on my phone. But if I pull it on my monitor, it looks horrible. Am is doing something wrong, or is this just how it is? Pic looks great on Pixel, but looks like this on my CPU.

Pixel 2 XL screen massively crush black so you can't see those fine details in Black.
Your PC probably don't crush it.

And that right there is why sir. The resolution of your monitor is much less than the pixel. Especially when the image is 12.2mp.

You're welcome. Just keep that in mind with monitors. A lot of times there lower resolution than phone screens. Images won't be as nice looking because of this.
