hi. i am using 2 phones the nexus s and the gs2 .
and i noticed something on my gs2 and i need to ask you people about it.
the phone isnt like 3 weeks old. its brand new. however i noticed a temp screen burn in on the following places.
when i use the keyboard for txt msging. if i pull the keyboard down " by pressing back ", i can see the squares of the keyboard on the screen for like few seconds before they dissapear.
i also noticed the same thing in the status bar, battery meter. specially in the browser or an hd wallpaper app called " HD wallpaper "
when i downloaded that app. i turned the wireless and went through the app. now its trying to load . if i switch the screen to the side. the status bar will tilt as well. vertical horizintal depends on the way you move the screen. and i clearly can see the marks of the status bar for few seconds before it dissapear again on whatever verticial or horizintal/
what is the issue here ? i cant call it burn in because its not permenant.
i noticed the same thing with Miui on the nexus S. but only on the status bar. nothing on the keyboard.
any idea peeps
is it some sort of memory effect or bad refrish rate ?
Someone else had this. I think it was related to apps or widgets they installed. It's not normal. Do a search and see if you can find the other thread. Try searching on "ghosting."
i was searching through ghosting. is this normal with everyone here ? or some people dont have it ?
i think you should be carefull with your phone, if you leave it to much on the same background it will burn in easelly, oled burn in as easelly as plasmas when it comes to leaving them on the same image over and over again, try see if you can change yours, i certainly have no such issues with none of the 2 i had nor with this one.
PS: depends on what you mean with ghosting, if you mean the pixel response time beying visible when moving an image fast then yes thats normal, even though oled have 0.01 ms response time this one is deffinitly higher as i can notice it easelly.
i have a screen burn in on my Nexus One, annoying at times when i do notice it.
Yes, I have this. Had a thread, temporarly burn in. I can see it when I type a message.
Just when the keyboard is visible and I pull down the notification bar, I can see the contoures of the keyboard letter there... Probably happens with other things but aren't that noticable on other colours than grey I guess...
i can also see some weird banding or whatever on a pure gray image, not sure how normal this is but ive noticed it with all of my 3 phones.
ghost image disappears for me within 2 seconds (very hard to see unless if you look at the screen hard), definitely not a problem, and wont be killing myself for this or even consider it a hardware issue.
i also facing a same problem as u guys, now waiting for service centre to replace my lcd.
This ghosting issue seems to happen with all phones, very visible when your using the keyboard and you drop down the notification tray, then it goes away after a couple of seconds.
Two issues here. First off, search the forum for burn in, its already been posted.
Two issues, the temporary burn in is new to the galaxy s2 and seems to go away after a few seconds. But all Samsung amoled screens suffer permanent burn in of the status bar, click time, and anything else in a static place.
My nexus one has permanent burn in right now, both status bar and keyboard. Original galaxy s and others has this also.
The temporary burn in seems to be different and only on this new amoled plus display so far.

i did search the forum before i post. however. as far as i know . burn in screens are permenant. and the other threads talked about that. here i am talking about something that goes off after few seconds. something like either ghosting / or something about low memory / low resposne / low refresh rate of the screen. not a real butn in.
I've recently bought a Galaxy S2 from someone and didn't see the burn in until a few days ago.
Now I can't reach the guy to get my money back... the phone seems in perfect shape except for the burn in (status bar and some digital clock widget).
I've been trying every day now to run this app called Screen Burn-in Tools for an hour or so but nothing happens.
You can find the app on the Google Play.
Should I continue using this tool or this burn-in is permanent and there's nothing I can do about it?
I can't believe such a high end phone has such a poor life display... how can this be possible!?!? They should've stayed with the regular LCD or something.
It's too bad because I'm a fan of the OLED idea and technology, but unfortunately samsung owns too many patents for this technology to spread to other manufacturers as well. This is what happens when the damn corporations get their greedy hands on something great that can benefit the mankind!
I need help, my burn in is way too bad and I can't send my phone back since it's bought from a retailer, how do I fix this issue? I've tried some apps and they don't work at all, my burn in is located on status bar and in the middle of a screen from Facebook Messenger app. I have 50% brightness and don't even use my phone that much, could it be a defective unit?
Would you mind elaborating this sentence of yours? Buying it from a retailer actually entitles you to even more rights than buying a used device. Especially when said device turns out defective.

Try AMOLED Burn-in Fixer. Keep in mind that these apps don't really help when you have burn-in. These apps are actually meant to fix screen retention. A burn-in is permanent.
Hi guys I got my phone 3 days ago and I'm completely in love with it but I see many people complaining about ghost touch and burn in effect (ghost scream or dead pixels), mine is just perfect, I avoid using my scream light more than 50% or use while charging but I'd like to know if we can avoid those problems that seem to be a regular in Moto G4 plus because we need support here in brazil we are lost hah
So are there any suggestion on how to save my phone of having any of those problems in a near future? thank you
@lexie90
Actually this problems can not be cured, just reduced...
Check which type of Display panel does your phone have.. [ https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo...ntifying-lcd-panel-ghost-screen-burn-t3470472 ]
See result on 6th page..
Then after you see if you need to do anything or not..

Frankly saying, i never had any of both, i don't know how those apps work.. but i read from many one, screen burn can not be completely avoided, you can just reduce the effect.. most of them says to use "bluelight filter or similar app at ~15% value.. it will reduce the display performance, but as it's new phone and don't have any problems you can see at what lower % it looks fine...:good:

So I have a boe panel. Been experiencing Ghost Touches when connected to home theatre or Charger. should I change my display?
Note - since the MPJ24.139-63 update, Ghost touches have been reduced to 5 to 10 percent while charging.
Thank You.

No need to change OR you can, no one will guarantee that you will not face same in new one too.. Just lock the screen, it is only we can do to prevent functioning unwanted apps / actions...

Ok bro. I will just lock the screen next time. Thanks a lot. It's a great phone. Pity we have to face such a pathetic issue. Also do you think I should return my phone? The only problem I have are This ghost touches. They ain't severe, just happens sometimes when I connect the phone to a charger. Do you think they will get severe in future?
10 days down with this phone and no problems. I avoid using while charging and always use low light, as for now its working, hopefuly as mine is made on 12/16 motorola fixed this thing up

Well I am happy for you bro. BTW what Charger do you use?
Have you tried charging with a different Charger?
I face the same issue of ghost touch (since the beginning of when I bought the phone)... However the only workaround I could get is that now I use a power bank to charge.. I guess it's the AC supply that's causing some grounding issues to ghost touch... power banks have DC output so I don't face any ghost touches with this..
OK, so I am unfortunately also a prey to screen burning , leaving screen burns all over the display during heavy usage.
solution : install blue light filter (hardy-infinity) from play store
After installing, select black colour as the filter colour option and set transparency/opacity to 3% ,. Done !!!! No more screen burns ! Enjoy??

Hello,As always i have a new problem with my new HTC phone. at first i had light bleed on my top left corner of my phone.i persist my self not to attention to it.Now a new problem just appeared. When i use phone for a while,Some of the things and icons from the last app i opened,Left on the screen. It mostly showed itself when i go to a dark app or even scroll down my notification bar.It is like a transparency thing.i don't know what should i do,After that light bleed this problem really broke my heart.does anyone has this issue?
Thats screen persistence its a lcd screen just change the screen temperature too cool and it should fix it
Well i have not seen this on my u ultra yet but i have seen it on my old LG V10 which also used LCD. It usually happened when the phone is hot so most frequently in the summer or when under heavy load. Locking the phone and leaving it to cool for a few minutes always fixed the problem.

Just left the phone cool down for a while.
This defect name is Image Sticking.
I have same problem on U Ultra. It is a cheap phone with a cheap display.
All LCD panels has a certain degree of Image Sticking, but in this case is to strong and very easy to obtain.
This display from U Ultra is not good enough for a mobile phone.
I never saw this degree of image sticking on other phone, cheap or expensive.
I recently replaced the screen on my K20 Pro and I noticed that there are a few malfunctions. Screen brightness suddenly goes max for a few seconds when using opening the phone from lock screen and usually when using fingerprint to unlock (I have my Auto-Brightness set to off). Ghost touches when tapping but none when swiping. I was wondering if this is a common malfunction after replacing the screen (calibration or something) or did the installation of the screen went wrong or is it because the LCD used to replace the original one was defective. Thanks for the insights.
i just replaced my screen four days ago and so far i got no problems of some sort..
so, i think it's probably the installation or the unit's fault. idk tho
I'm just annoyed by the sudden screen brightness max. To be honest I think the ghost touch thing is because of a defect LCD, but I think the brightness problem is from the system. It's like the phone does not recognize or remember the previously set brightness. I hope there's a solution for this. Do factory resetting the phone solve any brightness problems?
hello! did you managed to solve this problem? I have the same problem
if you removed foil and it still touch in random parts of screen,. then send it back. i had the same symptoms with a few screens that I repaired. just Chinese quality

i did the replacement with not 100% compatible display...because it was way cheaper than the display I needed...(from an oppo phone) i know it sounds weird but the display was 200 dollars( the 100% compatible from oppo) and i payed like 70 for this display that flickers the bringtness..but they told me a factory reset can solve it?
what do you think?
try, but I doubt it. looks like fauly/not compatible to me.
try flashing latest miui to make sure you did everything to get it to work, if that doesn't make it better just don't waste your time. if you have more technical data on both anoled and lcd with connections described (every pin) then you could make research a d bypass if needed. otherwise send it back

managed to solve? I have the same problem, besides sometimes the screen seems to lose sensitivity, I saw in some groups people recommend buying parts from the dragon-tt store....I'm thinking of taking a chance....
