[PETITION][SIGN IT] Petition to Release Kernel Sources of RN4 SD

Hey fellas,
Xiaomi has not yet released the Kernel sources for RN4 , this is now beginning to hinder further development of this device.
Hence, I filled a petition here

I really hope they release the sources soon. If they do and custom ROM developement picks up, this device will surpass the redmi note 3 pro

It's from the MIUI official forum and they have the Beta Team tag. And they said they got mail from it.

Self explanatory, when is Miui 9 coming on our devices? I searched in this forum and haven't seen anyone create such topic which surprised me.. is there anything wrong - as to why the development of Miui 9 for the Redmi 4 Prime (HM4Pro) hasn't started yet? More so, I see Redmi 4X receiving the Miui 9 update. Whats keeping the Hm4 pro miui 9 update?

The china dev should be released in late September or later. The important thing would be to have it based on nougat or it wouldn't be so useful.
MIUI 9 Developer ROM Public Release Timeline
1) August 11th, 2017
MIUI 9 China / Global Developer ROM for Mi 6, Mi 5X, and Redmi Note 4X Qualcomm will be released to the public!
2) August 25th, 2017
MIUI 9 China Developer ROM for Mi MIX, Mi Note 2, Mi 5, Mi 5s, Mi 5s Plus, Mi 5c, Mi Max 2, Mi Max 32G, Mi Max 64G/128G, Mi 4S, Mi 4c, Mi Note Pro, and Redmi 4X will be released to the public!
3) From late September, 2017
MIUI 9 China ROM for all the other Xiaomi / Redmi devices (except Mi 1/1S and Mi 2A) will be successively released to the public!

EDIT: Weird.. It stopped its download speed when I got to the middle, from 2.5 mb/s to 3.5kb/s wth? Where did you get this and how would I know this is miui 9? :/

Where can I see the update thread for this? It still has bugs and flaws ofc hehe I just wanna be able to update to latest always.
Attached is an example of the bug, look at the bottom. And like 2mm of the screen at the bottom became black and 1mm on sides and top
If you could link me where these beta tests are, Id greatly appreciate it!

It doesn't have most tentative functions of miui9 yet. So, I'd recommend you to stay on RR for a while. And yes, I'm running miui9 7.8.28 now.

What the hell is wrong with Xiaomi... They have released kernel source for Mi note 3 which released 3 months ago but they didn't even hesitate to release those sources for Mi Max 2..Are they freaking retarded?

No one can answer that. What we do know for sure is we have 2 active developers right now (at least) for this phone who will for sure like these news. So I'm guessing RR and Lineage OS ROMs that are out right now will only get better.

except that hydrogen kernel source was published in october already, so thats 4 months until first LOS beta...

3 - 6 months...

Kernel source is the way to go but roms can be build with prebuild MIUI kernel too.
The main thing needed is developers...

To complement the answers there was an article a few months ago saying that xiaomi aims to shorten the time it takes to release the source code.
Not many seem very optimistic by these news. But I hope for the best.
