I am going to mod my phone, I have ordered LCD from witrigs already during the same time I did order from vopmart the back cover including fingerprint scanner from here https://www.vopmart.com/pa1014017.html but then I got email saying they have rufunded cause it was not in stock it was in stock when I did order now..
So can some one tell me where I can order this with similar price ? and most importantly of all with free shipping since otherwise the shipping price will be more expensive then the product itself most likely.
I know unionrepair.com have it for 18 dollars that is fine but then the shipping is 20.. that is too expensive.. that will be 38 with shipping.. it is a lot more then I was willing to spend..
I hope I can find it to a better price otherwise this project will be a lot more expensive then I was willing to pay .. I also must pay for the company who will change the components too here in m town
the reason I wanted to change color is my LCD screen is damaged.. so I thought I would add just little bit extra to get mocha brown which I did want from the beginning.
if I cant find the back cover for a good price it was a reall bad idea probably.. it is not worth spending much money on this old device so I must keep the costs down..
I could just had changed the lcd from witrigs..

My mate's G1 has the flex cable broken, it looks relatively simple to fix and I can get the cable for £15. Everything else seems to work but the paint is coming off at the edges and the grey bit looks buckled, like someone tried to take the battery cover off from that side. I have no idea whether it would be worth the money to try to fix it, any advice please? Mazuma can buy it for £18 but he insisted £25 for some reason.
I bought mine off ebay for £70 (£75+ delivery ) i know thats totally irrelevant, but you could find many G1's for around £50 with the box & everything it comes with in good/excellent condition.
So why spend around £50 (£25 + 15 + probably a back cover) when you could chip in a few pounds & a good conditioned one
Also, if your looking to buy a new phone, whats your budget?
Wow that sounds like a good deal! Haha I'm not really looking for a phone I'm just thinking about fixing it for the fun of it (something to do in the holidays and maybe give it to my brother who's got a cookie ) but yeah it's probably not worth it then!
OR! You could buy it, fix it & then sell it on ebay, you'll make a minimum of £10 profit
ah haha xD that's also a good point. That should be quite interesting. Hmmmmm
So today i dropped my vibrant. Screen cracked so im a sad panda . I really dont feel like dishing out 200-300 bucks to asurion to fix this, so im going to buy the parts i need and fix it myself.
What i need to know is, is it possible to just buy the glass part of the screen by itself? The screen and Digitzer both still work 100%, so the only thing bothering me are the ugly cracks. Are the digitizer lcd and glass plate only sold as one part? because i really dont want to dish out 70 bucks to fix a piece of cracked glass...
If they are only sold as one part, can someone link me to the cheapest one available? like is there anything under 60 bucks?
The deductible for T-Mobile customers should be $135 at the most

It isn't going to be 'Cheap'
And where did you get $200-$300 from asurion? It only costs like $135 like the other guy said..
Deductible is $130.
Get a body glove for your next phone, as well (dropped mine ~10 feet off a short ladder and it was fine in that case - not even a scratch).
I will spare you the what you should have done...
But searching here will find you plenty of similar threads...
The digitizer/glass/AMOLED is all one piece. No way to NOT replace the whole piece. Samsung will charge you $170 direct to replace BTW if you send it to them.
You can find some on EBAY of course some may or may not be AMOLED as one of the awesomely friendly sellers let me know of his own product.
I ended up picking mine up from a stateside seller, and it was $77 with overnight shipping (used a coupon code and google checkout). Missionrepair.com was the place.

Was it AMOLED or LCD (website says LCD)? How hard was the replacement? It may be worth the extra $30 to have them replacement.
I just pulled "your" deductible through Asurion here at my store. It's $130 and that includes express shipping so you'll have it pretty much overnight.

I have the Nexus 7 32Gb (2012 version) I bought it from John Lewis as they offer a 2 year warranty. I went to unlock the screen this morning and I noticed the lockscreen jumping around, upon further inspection and managing to unlock the screen it does the same on the home screen.
I am shocked to discover there is a crack in the glass of the top layer of glass but not the LCD at all. I am told that this is called the digitizer? I was wondering, as the device has not been dropped or gone from cold to hot conditions or vice versa, and I have not mistreated the device, what should I do next?
I am worried that 1) if I take it to store they will say that I dropped it and its my fault even though this is not the case and 2) if they cant repair or replace it, it would be not cost effective repairing it.
Any advice would be helpful, I am not without a tablet at the moment as I also have the iPad mini but I love the N7 and all its jelly bean goodness.
1) Won't know until you ask.
2) Unless you DIY (about $60 worth of parts on eBay) probably not.
The price reductions on the 'old' one make it cheaper to replace than pay someone to repair it for you.
You might check for a local shop and get an estimate, but....
That's why I'm an advocate of the Drop & Spill warranty/insurance.
For the $50-$60 it costs for 2 years of coverage, all it takes is one mishap for it to pay for itself.

Thanks for the advice, I guess I should have purchased accidental damage cover then I would not have this worry, still I am sure it is a manufacturing defect or a defect in the glass itself as it has not ever been dropped or used is a way against the guide etc.
I am going back to the store tomorrow with the sales recipt and see what then say. It is mint condition and if they can repair it then great. Browsing their stock on their website they seem not to have anymore of the 2012 edition so if its a replacement they only have the 2013 32gb or the 2012 wifi + 3g version. so who knows.
Will update with news for information to interested partys.
EDIT: I also restored it to factory as someone suggested somewhere as its a warrenty claim and I should protect my infos is this type of wipe safe or is there a better way to ensure my play store details / google wallet is secure?

Well, I went to see them, after about 2 hours of this is what we want to do, what they actually did was replace it with the Nexus 7 (2013) 16Gb. So now I will be living here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2407
They were selling the 32Gb for £40 more but wanted to charge me the extra if I wanted to get the 32Gb version replacement and told me it was an upgrade seeing as they don't make the old version anymore.
Half the storage for the new model vs. 28 day warranty repair??? both costing them the same (verbatim from service guy) I felt as did the service guy I should take the 16Gb and be happy.
So, now the wait for KitKat on for me, new device and new screen protector and case to buy, shame old one does not fit but meh.
Thanks for your time grouper guys see ya around I hopes

Is anyone getting how the price seems to get lower every other day on Aliexpress? You can find it for 216.66$ right now, how is this possible for the resellers? On both indan and chinese official page the price is the same as release last I checked(about a week ago).
because they want to clear all their stock. maximum phone has faulty fingerprint sensor which either dont work out of the box or after few hours or few days or few months who knows. though in some phone fp scanner work ok. but in most of the phone say 8 out of 10 it have that problem and its random.
I would be wary about buying at the lowest cost on AliExpress. The buyer "protection" is a joke and sellers know this. So what do you think might happen when one of the less scrupulous sellers find a bad phone (say, one with a defective FP sensor)? Most likely it gets sold at a price less than all of the other sellers, the buyers raises a fuss, and maybe gets $10 refunded through buyer protection.
I could be wrong, but I have seen this on a few of my own "lowest price on AliExpress" purchases.
BTW, my FP sensor has worked fine with every ROM but one, where it quit once until a reboot. But I also picked a seller who sold a ton of these phones, and wasn't unreasonably less costly than other sellers.
I got mine from http://www.geekbuying.com/ they have a cleaned-up Rom and after a calibrate of the finger print reader I have no problems
I bought mine locally in Hong Kong for about $220 USD and the fingerprint sensor doesn't work at all. I'll be exchanging it or refunding totally.
Having said that. The build quality is otherwise impressive and I can't believe you can get a snapdragon 820 equipped phone for this cheap.

what do you mean by "after a calibrate of the finger print reader".? so anyone can do that?
Settings > finger print and password > right to the bottom > fingerprint calibration .

How much did you pay? It's soon under 210$ on Aliexpress and i could sacrifice the FP sensor for that price, it's the battery life that is holding me back. Will see how the launch in USA goes, maybe we can get a better rom from there.

Got mine from Willvast. Paid a little more for the Rose-gold version, than they are currently selling the newer gray colored ones for. It looks like the price drop is just them closing out the less popular rose-gold color, of which I am sure there are huge stockpiles. I suspect that color will be replaced by the gray ones, once the rose-gold are gone. Still, beware of deals on that site which seem too good to be true. My experience has shown that they probably are.
I think the ROM situation might be getting better soon, if the kernel source posted in the last day or so is legit :good:

I get phenomenal battery life. Sometimes pushes past 7 hours SOT.
I have a cracked screen on my s7 edge and need it replaced, the touch panel and lcd screen is fine just the glass needs replacing. Been calling alot of places and the prices range alot. A couple places have a real good price but said the screen is a fake not genuine but they have good reviews from the public. The genuine parts are soooooooo expensive but I cant trust them because they are local mobile shops not a samsung shop so do I take the gamble or not on them?
I cant take it to samsung because I bought my phone overseas and didnt know stupid samsung have a policy only repair from the country of original you bought it, so so dumb I was willing to pay them anyway to fix it whats the difference take the money so have to resort to local mom and pop shops in my city. So just wanted to know if anyone has replaced screens with fakes and if any issues, as long as the touch works just as well and they dont mess up my screen resolution or colours which i doubt they will I think I should be ok right?
Go with only glass replacement. Its just glass...
I've never seen not genuine lcd for s7 edge
New lcd cost about 400$, glass about 130$ in my country, so its simple math
awesome thanks, the glass samsung said on the phone was $220 but in person they wanted 340 but couldnt do it when they realised I have the international model so they turned me back. Everywhere else I ask cheapest glass I can find was 260 and most expensive was 500 which is crazy just for that. Guess youre right its just glass best bet to go with it than spend wasted money. The places with "genuine" parts want 360 and again iffy if they are real or not
