Gentleman, I need the experts help. My device stopped seeing the 5ghz lower band networks, it only shows and connects to those in the 149 channel neighborhood. Any idea how to fix this? I´ve been searching and it might be a problem with the wifi country code or the radio I installed with some ROM. Any ideas? Thanks!!!
What did you set your region to when you set up your phone? US or Mainland China?

Thanks for you input. Strong enough I just got back from a trip tu Australia, I set the phone to Mainland China and voila... No issues with 5ghz (all channels are there). I then returned home, to the Middle East, and all my 5Ghz issues are back!
Conclusion, It has something to do with the location and simcard inserted. Does anyone know how to maybe solve or trick this??
Thanks!

Is there any ROM or Hotfix or Fix or hack that will fix the lack of 3G support in the USA?
If so, can you point me in the right direction?
Please help.
Thank you.
i dunno whats the problem with 3g in usa... just my guess isnt it cell phone from europe which antenas use other frequency for 3g so it cant be fixed via software?
HTC claims that it can be fixed with a hotfix or something of that nature.
I have searched and searched the forums, I don't see anything of the sort.
Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place?

well then i have no idea didnt see this kind of fix yet... but im new to hd2 so maybe someone will get you right answer
depends what phone you have and what network you are on.
phones for different regions have different radio hardware (not to be confused with the radio rom) and add to that different networks in the states use different frequencies.
flashing different radio roms WILL NOT change the hardware frequencies.
where is the phone from, and what network are you on?(not that I know anything about what frequencies go where, but someone will!)
Thank you samsamuel!
I purchased the phone from overseas (overseas being Europe).
I just sent it in for repair, but hope to have it back soon.
And hopefully with a fix to the 3G.
The problem is that the frequencies are different here in the USA than in Europe.
I know what the problem is, I'm just wondering if there is a tweak or hack to make it work in the USA.

I agree, but best of luck!
Anyone know what the problem is? I am not very knowledgeable when coming to phone and how they function. I am thinking, could it be the radio setting? I am in the USA, using tmobile network. I get signal and I can call text. If my phone are on standby for not being use, I get the X signal for no network connection and after switching the phone back on.
I am located in Socal in the Orange County, any one with the fix for this please let me know. I didn't have this many drop network with other build, but I love how fast this Super Ram build is. Please help if you can. Thank you!

I'm assuming you're using Darkstone's build, check his post; there is a complete work-up and description and fixes for problems. Remember, it's still a work in progress and there will be problems. His forum is just for that. The Devs have put a warning on his thread to basically keep it clean and search before posting repeat questions.

- Notification LED's only blink once
- SetCPU unable to change CPU speed (not that I think that theres much need to do this anyway)
- Possible PPP data issues for some people"

Since you and I are on the same network and area, check your build.prop settings for DNS, check your APN and I have mine set to HSP...Check my thread for links and instructions.
Thank, slightly confuse thought. I don't use data service so I don't know if my network or cell phone reception have anything to do with PPP. If it does I will give it a shot and try to fix it. Everywhere I go have Wifi and it work wonders, just my cell reception for tmobile are going up and down at time, and every couple min it would lose everything. Sometime going to network and trying to reconnect it would give me some bar and sometime it doesn't. Very annoying but please verified if PPP will fix it. Seem more like data (3g) issue more than reception issue. I don't know if both are the same thing or not. I will give it a shot if it will fix my reception for signal because I don't want to mess anything up.
Thanks for the lead and heads up.
Before I say anything, I would like to thank the devs to make it possible for us to have android on our phones

as you might know, you too might have a network issue with your phone. Such as your network bar keeps dropping etc.
This is what I want from you guys:
I was wondering if anyone can confirm network drop on your phone
If they experienced network drop what have you done to fix/sustain it.
If you are having a different problem related to network please tell us
Thank You
(please no rude or pointless comments, as this could help other users ... and please stay on topic)
every network issue is always tie to the exact ROM/Kernel so I don't see the point to discuss is somewhere else than in threads for related ROMs
Helo all..
I just brought that phone s4 9505 lte version for 1week ago. And at that time I did not find any issues on my phone. As u know I only checked using wifi and play games. It seems to work well everything. But today I am realized that something wrong in my galaxy s4 particularly when I use data network. The main problem is in the H symbol that always appear in the top of the screen with 2 sides arrow. When I do nothing with my phone or idle for a short while, the data connection suddenly stop working which means u can not browsing at all even making a call and texting. So the only way is to refresh the network or change the mode or restart your phone.
I dont know why it always happen in my phone many times. I have tried to refresh network and change the mode then give back to the wcdma mode. It occurs same issues again after a couple hours. But I did not notice where I use gsm mode.
About my signal is good. No drop signal at all. But I always encounter that problem. Maybe anyone who has the same issue .. plz inform then we can try searching out the solution. Thx
Addition information.. I buy this phone from singapore comes with official local warranty.
Actually. I have not tried to change another provider and I hope this cell is not fault factory.
I will try with different area and provider first then decide possibility

Are you on vodafone? There is quite some discussion going on in german forums where the lte - 3g change seems to be problematic when on vodafone network with the i9505. If so you might want to check forums like android-hilfe.de or so. Btw. Im in switzerland on provider swisscom and have the same problems. Data connections drops completely every few minutes. Very annoing.

Yes I notice in other sub thread there are quite a lots number signal problematic. Yet in my case is different from that case..
I just tested set into wcdma mode along night and until now it still work perfectly. This problem can not be predicted when it will occur. Sometimes I browse internet for 2 hours..afterwards my phone can not be used completely even testing and calling. I hope this is a provider caused.
Hi all, this is my first post or thread, i came here cause i heard from ppl this is best site for asking questions about cell phones, i started reading allot this forum and wow did i enter the other world i really like and wanna participate in.
Srry for little intro and lets get back to topic. So i got my first "normal" android and got trouble with it. I am using Samsung galaxy s5 g900F (european) factory unlocked and T-mobile as carrier with 4.4.2 kitkat. I have a big problem with a data connection that keeps going off every 30sec to 5 min if i use option to search and auttoconnect on LTE/WCDMA/GSM option. I read forum but no1 is mentioning this model as problematic 1 so now i post thread about.
Does any1 know what could be problem and how to solve it. Sometimes my data connection comes back and sometimes it doesnt and i have to switch type of network to get back again online. All other options that don't include LTE auttoconnect work just fine, i tried to get another SIM from carrier but same problem, i tried to get another Phone since i work in hardware firm and still same problem on another device, both were same models.
I still didn't put any ROMs but i really consider doing it maybe l8r on, it is stock version.
Pls be genttle since this is first time i post, maybe i did it on wrong place but i did read rules and everything and i think i did it on right place.
Ty in advance.
I did have a slightly similar problem years ago - when in roaming my phone could not connect to anything. What helped was a change of simcard for a new model - after that all was good.
Since you did try your SIM on a different phone (same 900F?) I would advise you to try: first on a completely different brand and phone model - if you can.
If this does not solve your problem do shake your service provider a bit - they could have supplied you with two faulty SIM cards in a row - that can happen. Otherwise - maybe there is a stupid limitation in your service plan which is causing this. There is no - to my knowledge - ready answer to the problem you have described.
Best of luck and if you do solve it come back and post - it will be very useful to lots of people for sure
Cheers!
Too many variables. You haven't observed enough of a pattern yet or tried enough things to narrow it down a bit. It could just as easily be carrier side issues as a bug in the firmware not negotiating a new connection if the LTE signal is lost.
A number of people were having data disconnect issues and that was addressed in the 4.4.3 /4.4.4 update. So that is one option to consider. And you could open a support ticket with your carrier. That is hit and miss as to results, but sometimes tickets actually resolve issues.
There are also a number of apps that may mitigate or possibly even solve your issue. Have a look at 4G LTE Switch and LTE Discovery.
.
Will try it today. Thanks for the help. Really appreciate it.
