Question about RAW support for YOTAPHONE 2 - YotaPhone

I have question od someone have profile at 4pda to add latest API for camera. I wanna use raw supported apps like Manualna Camera.
Thanks for aby help.

I don't get how RAW format support is connected to having a 4pda profile. By the way, I tried using this guide and then checking with Camera Zoom FX, but haven't noticed anything. There are also some apps on Play Store that check if you have API2, you can try.

Tester this guide not helped persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1 should have ' at have or not? Manual camera not showing support

what is the best camera app this phone should have?

Standard Android camera, A better Camera, Camera360, Camera2, Horizon, UCamera etc.

Ok, thank you!
I enabled camera 2 api and I am experiencing a crazy battery drain with mokee ROM. Is it normal? The battery drops 10 % in a matter of 10min and the phone gets really hot
How many of the manual settings stated in the manual camera compatibility app are supported after enabling camera2 api?

But RAW pictures are buggy on our phone, atleast on my phone
Edit: I had 3 reboots within a short time while opening camera apps since I've edited the build.prop. I'm on official RR, but the camera2 features are working fine (except raw), thanks for sharing!

Camera fv-5, snap cam (from play store), open camera and a lot others, they have to support camera2 api. On some camera apps you have to enable it manually in the settings. Then you can control shutter speed and some other things. I've attached also a picture, on the left side the shutter speed is short and on the right side the shutter speed is a lot longer. So for "normal" pictures you won't need manual controls, but in some cases it can be useful.

Thanks for the guide.....this has solve the problem of reboot while using third party camera apps......google camera is also working without any problem
At least. MANY DIGITAL COOKIES TO THE OP. This was a thing that I was asking before even buying the phone. Many thanks to the OP.
Hmm I am using Snap Camera with camera2 API. Best thing) But it's need to activate camera2 in the Snap Camera settings (menu--"other"tab--go down and check Camera2 API string). Nice manual focus and manual settings in the HDR mode) Snap camera may a RAW format. There opens in built-in viewer and (who installed) can be pen into Snapseed editor.
Example of the photo in HDR mode with manual settings) Sorry for my curved hands and academical English)))
My curved hands cannot make good man ual photos yet)) Who knows Russian - you can check 4pda.ru forum--Redmi Note 3 Pro Camera branch. http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=750102&st=860 Many people tested this hint and VEEEEERY pleasured)))

Google Camera2 API

Hello every one! Hope you're having a great day
I'm here because I need your help To make a long story short, until I can save enough to buy a new proper camera, I'm stuck with my P9 Lite, which cannot save pictures as RAW/DNG files. This feature is provided by Google's Camera2 API, which my phone doesn't have/support. Four questions:
1. Is it possible to install Camera2 API on my phone, through a custom ROM?
2. Is it possible to install a custom ROM without losing on the initial image quality provided by my phone's camera?
3. In theory, could this API be enabled by a future software update? Or does it only have to do with how the phone was originally conceived?
4. Even if I managed to get the API on my phone, would it be possible to make it fully supported, and would I be able to save RAW/DNG files even if my phone originally doesn't offer this option?
Thank you very much!
P.S: I've never thought of "flashing" a custom ROM on my phone, this issue is the only reason why I'm considering it. As you may have noticed by my way of explaining things, I'm a five year old when it comes to informatics, and I'd probably be the first in line to buy Smartphone Software For Dummies. As much as I admire how technical and specialised you can get about a science that goes way beyond my understanding abilities, if you can keep things slow and simple, as if you were talking to an actual five year old, I'd be very grateful

Can't you just install https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.sourceforge.opencamera on stock ROM? I think the camera2 api should be available.
Thank you for replying! The application supports Camera2 API, but if the API is not available on my phone in the first place, I don't think the application will work...According to my researches, the API is like, let's say, a camera: if your phone doesn't have a camera, you could install as many camera apps as you want, your phone still won't take any pictures...What I need is a way to add a camera to my phone - in our case, the API - so that I can start taking pictures - in our case, saving RAW/DNG files. Also, I might be wrong.

So the app doesn't work? I can't test it cause I am not on stock.
Just tried open cam on stock rom and I can capture RAW dng files, so it seems like camera2 is supported try it out!
UPDATE: Enable "Use alternative flash method" in photo settings if it won't take pictures when camera2 is enabled.
Open camera is pretty buggy on this phone when shooting RAW. Try "Footej camera", seems to work better
yaa but for footej need to pay to have fully featured. I payed for this but for m there is no diference to open camera.
I didn't say that Footej is better than open camera. Just that open camera often bugs for me when using camera2 - eg nothing happens when pressing camera button.
Sry for reviving the thread, is there any way to increase max shutter speed in camera2 api? I'm really interested in shooting some raw stuff but apps like Opencamera or Adobe Lightroom won't allow me to set over 1 second shutter speed (apart from the built-in camera app that allows up to 8 secs, but without raw support...) so it's a pain in the butt if I want to take raw pictures at night.
Using the stock Marshmallow Emui
The Lightroom app has a built in camera which can shoot RAW, I tried it and it works flawlessly.
Camera API2 *IS* present on p9 lite and *DOES* work.

Yup it does, but shutter speed cannot be set over 1 second (see the screenshot), that means night photos end up being very noisy since I need to drastically increase iso. The default camera app allows much longer shutter time, that's why I'm wondering what's wrong
If it was possible to set it to like 10 secs in the Lightroom app, the camera would be damn great

Also I heard that official Nougat brings raw support to the built-in camera, can anyone verify that? I might wanna update in that case

I Know This Is Quite Old But In Case Someone Is Still Wondering;
I'm Using Stock Nougat Firmware On My P9 Lite And It Does Support Raw Format, But You Have To Root The Phone And Enable Raw/DNG Format In Some System Files

best camera app? [nougat]

Which camera apps are people using? Curious to also know what the latest version of Google Camera is that you found can work (fully) with our phone?
I managed to get 3.2 working (only 720p recording though).
Any recommendations are highly appreciated.

I have been testing out Camera zoom FX, it seems to have all the features that the N4 can use, but i don't like the way it handles HDR.
The thing is that Google Camera (at least the 3.2 version i have) is the quickest to open (<3 sec), which is something I care about.
Open Camera is also ok, while "perfectly clear" is complete **** (which i was very surprised about).
camera mx
sorry, maybe you try camera mx, I think is so good.

Does Nexus 4 support Camera 2 API to use HDR+? I doubt it but I ask just to be sure.

I never found a complete answer for this, but what i understood is that N4 does not go beyond LEGACY level for Camera 2 API. (other options being LIMITED and FULL).
This may be due to firmware issues, sensor limitation, or DSP/ISP.
So, max I think devs can do is make an app install on the N4 but none of the "extra" features will work (like manual controls, RAW images).
I did want to mention that there are apps out there that seem to "reproduce" some of the features of more modern cameras.
For example burst mode, or some exposure settings, even ISO. (e.g., Camera FV-5).
This is mainly why I asked this question here, to find out if there is a full feature packed app out there that N4 users prefer. Since most of these camera apps might have more features than the stock google cam one but the end results are crap...
Google Camera 4.1.006 seems to work fine if you have a ROM running 6.0+ (I think). I have encountered a few bugs though.

Stock camera app from LineageOS 15.1, works for me.
Latest Google Camera working on LineageOS 15.1 Android Pie
The Nexus 4 is a ARM device (arm-v7a). I tested Google Camera APKs from APKMirror on Nexus 4 running LineageOS 15.1 Android Pie. I had to manually uninstall the app between versions, otherwise the other versions refused to install.
Google Camera 4.2.035 doesn't work. Force closes on start up.
Google Camera 4.2.022 doesn't work. Force closes on start up.
Google Camera 4.1.006 works. Video @ 1080 causes app to crash. To work around this, go to settings and change video resolution to 720p.
Google Camera 3.2.045 works. To get past the tutorial, change to selfie camera. Video @ 1080 causes app to crash. To work around this, go to settings and change video resolution to 720p.
Overall v4.1.006 is the latest version that works on the Nexus 4.

camera2 api

p10 plus doesn't seem to have full camera2 api at least till B177. Can anyone who's updated to Oreo confirm if there's any change in that case? Or any other updates considering camera app perhaps?
On stock Oreo (see blackball's thread in this forum) and the manual camera compatibility checker app from the play store shows this:
(Note 3rd party camera apps only use the 12mp colour sensor so the quality is not so good)

Thanks! Manual camera compatibility checker shows the same for me (stock Android 7.0/EMUI 5.1) yet, I haven't managed to get manual shutter working on any 3rd party app when using video recording. I didn't check the camera2 api myself, someone had wrote about it mentioning that Huawei flagships (p9, p10 etc.) doesn't have full camera2 api or it's restricted for system app. Can someone confirm this?
I'm trying to solve this for video recording only, so it doesn't matter if 3rd party apps can't handle the monochrome sensor. I've purchased both Cinema FV-5 and ProShot and neither seem to work with manual video controls.
By the way, Huawei Developer center is updating their support for 3rd party development and on their web page seem to have dual camera abilities "coming soon". Does anyone have any idea what that could mean?

Fix Camera2 API to show all cameras in all camera apps?

Hi, i was trying to use the ultra-wide camera in hedgecam2/OpenCamera, but besides gcam and the stock camera, no other apps show option to use the zoom or ultra-wide.
then i found out those apps like opencamera CAN and DO use all cameras the phones have, but the API of the phone only show 2 cameras available (like on opencamera log, "No. of cameras: 2").
on the forums, most newer LG and samsung phones show the correct amount of cameras, and allow all apps to use them (even on whatsapp, etc..)
so, my question: is this fixable? can the camera api be modified to show all cameras? or perhaps change the main camera to be the ultra-wide one?
