Little tutorial to help everyone out
download: https://dl-ssl.google.com//android/repository/latest_usb_driver_windows.zip
Some pictures, step by sptep to help!
PUT YOUR PHONE ON FASTBOOT MODE AND PLUG IT TO YOUR PC! (truned off, press vol+ and power button)
READ THIS:
- at step 5 you have to browse your files and select the "usb_drivers" folder that you just downloaded then choose "Let me pick...".
- at step 6 it appear "asus android device" in my case but DONT care about that. Select "all devices". The next step is the important part.
- at step 7 click on have disk and browse to your usb_drivers folder and select "android_winusb.inf"
After this you can use commands to root, flash new recoveries, and go back to completly stock using bootloader mode on your device.

dont be hater, i just wanted to make a thread more specific to this problem cuz sometimes its hard to find the awnser on those large thread
or you could just boot your device into download mode and plug it in....no downloading from any SHADY file hosts that force you to use their downloader, and no confusing instructions....boot to download mode, plug your phone in, then wait.
Thats a good ideia too, but anyways... u can wathever drivers u want from who u want. This tutorial was mainly fpcused on new people arriving to our world!

thanks pals for that, i need that tutoreial so much!
I don't know if this is because it was already installed or what (I've had to work with several other Android phones for a project I'm involved with) but I couldn't get the zip to install either (are they Win8 drivers C4SCA? Didn't work on Win7 64bit). What I did do was select the device driver manually. Once in the driver list select Android Phone and then Android Bootloader Interface. In my case it listed Acer and Google so be sure to select Google if you have any options. Worked fine after that.

I was browsing a help thread I have over at the dev.b2g google group this morning when I came across a post by Vance Chen. Look at the bottom of the thread and you will find a link to root the ZTE Open C!
You will need to have Windows Vista/7/8 to run the upgrade tool and flash the developer build.
First, you will need to download the ZTE Upgrade Tool, then you can either choose between a US build (for those of us who live in the Americas,) or an EU build (for those who live in Europe.)
Don't forget to remove your sim card before flashing!
Once you have the firmware downloaded, navigate to the directory you downloaded it to, then extract the .zip file. Now, open up the upgrade tool and click the browse button. You will need to navigate to the root directory of the extracted files. Once that's done, make sure your phone is detected and click update.

No support at all lol for this phone, lol no matter I support myself, I have rooted device setup dual boot and built a recovery for this phone, now I like the phone.
Yes I know pics suck, I took them with a HTC EVO 4G, phone., back ups come out with 1970 date, I googled, just a date bug, doesn't bother anything. recovery boots to black screen, to overcome this , run scripts via adb in recovery then phone correctly displays cwm screen.

problem with ZTE Upgrade Tool
Hi, I want to root my ZTE Open C and install FFXOS 2.1: so first of all I borrowed a computer with Windows and tried to use the official upgrade tool but it does not find the device: any help about this? do you need extra drivers? to be clear: I plugged in the powered-on phone via usb, is this the way you are supposed to connect it or not? thanks
With many thanks to @TaylorofCanada for acquiring and sharing this ROM, I would like to share with you a method to downgrade a Samsung ATIV SE to Windows Phone 8.0 GDR3. This method can be used to completely remove the Preview for Developers configuration from your device. This method wipes all of your data, and you cannot restore 8.1 backups on 8.0; if you are not experiencing significant issues with the current preview release, it may be ideal to wait patiently until another PFD update is pushed to this device. Another reason to flash 8.0 would be to take the OTA updates to 8.1 when they are released, in the event that the updates (or at least the firmware update) are not initially available to users with PFD installed (and you grow impatient). I have compiled a .zip file which contains everything that is necessary for downgrading your device. The .zip contains a README.txt file which contains detailed instructions on following the correct process; read it carefully and completely before attempting to follow.
If this method has brought you enough relief to feel like making a donation, I would suggest you donate to @TaylorofCanada. Without his release, this would not be possible, especially with such ease:
Code:
[URL="http://forum.xda-developers.com/windows-phone-8/development/taylors-super-rom-tool-dump-sgh-t899m-t3037789"]Taylor's Super ROM and Tool Dump![/URL]
I have created a thread for discussion of development with this device, so if you have an ATIV SE and you're into this kind of stuff, take a gander over yonder:
Code:
[URL="http://forum.xda-developers.com/windows-phone-8/development/research-reference-samsung-ativ-se-sm-t3044123"]Samsung ATIV SE (SM-W750V) - Research and Development Hub[/URL]
Please understand that following this tutorial may permanently brick your device or make it unusable in another way, even if you follow it correctly. It probably voids your warranty, as well. If this concerns you and/or you do not have a second device to use in the event of a mishap, I would suggest closing this page now. Following this process is of your own accord, and I will not be held responsible for any form of damage, losses, or anything else you may experience from proceeding. This phone has limited availability due to its Verizon-exclusive release, and as a result, there is minimal public research and development for it. I cannot guarantee that there will ever be a consumer-friendly way to de-brick your device in the future other than this, which can only do so much, so please proceed with caution:
Code:

Also, download mode on this phone is Vol Up + Home.
Yes the unsigned drivers are installed ok. i have two laptops one win 10 64 bit and the other i put a fresh copy of win 7 32 bit on just to compare. both act like they see the phone but do nothing when it gets plugged in.
On Both systems the phone shows up as Samsung Windows 8 Phone , under universal serial bus controllers

I don't think MBN Creator works with this phone, but let me know if you get it working. Here are some helpful guides:
MMS/Internet sharing (haven't tested, I'm on VZW): http://forums.windowscentral.com/samsung-ativ-se/339425-6.htm#post3309723
Upgrade to Windows 10 (this is partially incorrect; once at Windows 10 you can and should do a Hard Reset): http://forums.windowscentral.com/sa...rading-samsung-ativ-se-windows-10-mobile.html
Mbm creator works i have changed tge csc code to match what my older ativ s had.

Any chance of being able to flush the ativ se with the ativ s ROM? I am in UK, want to buy the ativ se from USA but if its not working correctly or something it would be nice to know that I could use the ativ s rom UK and be done with it.
I already own the ativ s its been 3 years now, but its time to let it rest, plus I cracked the screen.
Thanks in advance people and thanks for the hard work on setting ROMs and everything.
Also a quick one. Is Samsung backing away from the ativ phones? I love windows phones but Microsoft etc are not quite the same as my trustworthy ativ s. Screen is not gorilla so it feels cheap etc.

No, it won't run a rom for a different device. Why do you need it to run an Ativ S rom? If the problem is setting it up for a different carrier, you can adjust that through the registry, as long as the phone's hardware supports your carrier.

Is not only the carrier i am worried. So since my Ativ S works perfectly fine (to what i need it to do) i thought if something goes wrong with the SE i could use the S ROM and be fine.
Oh well. i guess we will see???
I am using Ativ SE in India (got it from US) and it works flawlessly.. I am sure it would work on any GSM without any issues.. Worst case you may have some challenges in setting up APN but for that you don't need to port Ativ S ROM.. There are multiple tweaks which will take care of such issues

Got a Nokia Lumia stuck at cogs, black background Nokia logo, Red background Nokia logo, or lightening bolt and gear or no/blank screen?
This guide will tell you how to fix all of these. Once a step has fixed your problem do not continue!
Abbreviations
NCS = Nokia Care Suite
PST = Product Support Tool
Step 1) CHARGE THE PHONE to 100% battery. This can fix many issues without a need to go further.
Step 2) Press and hold volume down and power until vibration occurs.
Step 3) Still stuck? If you now have a black background Nokia logo OR a blank/no screen WAIT for 10 minutes before trying again.
Step 4) Remove the SD card (if you have one) and try Step 2 again
Warning in the proceeding steps we will be flashing firmware to the phone. This is for experts only! If you have a stuck phone and are not an expert take your phone to a NokiaCareCenter (Europe) or a Microsoft Store (Everywhere else)
Step 5) Download and install Nokia Care Suite (during install deselect “Multi Software Updater” we don’t use it)
Step 6) Download and install Data Package Manager
Step 7) Download UserGroupsConfiguration.cfg
Step 8i) If on a 64-bit machine,
Copy UserGroupsConfiguration.cfg to:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Nokia\Nokia Care Suite\Data Package Manager\bin"
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Nokia\Nokia Care Suite\Product Support Tool For Store 5.0"
Step 8ii) If on a 32-bit machine,
Copy UserGroupsConfiguration.cfg to:
"C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia Care Suite\Data Package Manager\bin"
"C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia Care Suite\Product Support Tool For Store 5.0"
Step 9) Find your product type and product code if you don’t know them look them up.
Step 10) Run Nokia Care Suite and double-click on Data Package Manager. A window will pop up called "Login to NOL", click on “Work offline”. A second window will pop up called "Work offline", click on “OK”.
Step 11) Click on File->Work offline, a window will pop up called "Login to NOL" make sure Login group is “Nokia Care servers” Click “OK”
Step 12) Fill in your product type and product code click on “Search” then “Download Select”
Step 13) Close Data Package Manager and double-click on Product Support Tool in NCS
Step 14) A window will pop up called "Login to NOL", click on “Work offline”.
Step 15) Click on File->Preferences and make PST stay offline.
Step 16) Click on File->Open Product
Step 17) Type in your product type (digits behind RM)
Step 18) Programing->Recovery->Start
STEPS 19-21 are very important!! They must be followed to the letter!
Step 19) Turn off the power of your phone. (If you can’t just hold power volume down until vibration occurs)
Step 20) Now plug your phone into your computer and immediately
Step 21) Hold power and volume down until vibration and click “retry” when you see the Nokia logo with black background. The timing is finicky so try a few times before proceeding to the next step. If you get “Rebooting…” you have passed this step.
Step 22) You only need to do this once. Open device manager and verify the driver for your phone is “Nokia Emergency Connectivity” if not use update driver to make it the driver for NOKIA FLASH
Step 23) If you got an error like “Message send failed” Try clicking on “start” if you get the “retry” popup go back to Step 21, however if you get an error after it says “Rebooting…” again, try “start” a few more times before proceeding to the next step.
Step 24) Ok this is a bit tricky: Turn on hidden devices in device manager. Now watch in device manager. To change this driver you must not be getting the “retry” popup anymore. Now right click the USB Phone device that is connected and change the driver to “2014 Nokia USB Connectivity”
Goto Step 23) Everything worked for me from there.
Good Luck! Happy Flashing!

Sorry I had not read your tutorial. I got the info off a French site MONWindowsPhone
The difference is that with your tutorial someone could spend over 12 hours trying to get the timing right with the retry, as well as the fact that in my guide I explain that you need to change the drivers. Just keep in mind I am writing about my personal experience not trying to copy your tutorial. I will put a like to your tutorial but I want to make it clear that your tutorial would not fix the problems I mentions at the start of my OP.
@wcomhelp
The tutorial that is posted on MonWindowsPhone is done by myself. Moreover, on MWP, I changed the tutorial method and is now used Windows Phone Image Designer. As I am French, I started posting it there and then translate it into English here.
But the question is not, as to whether or not you have copied. It does not matter to me.
I just wanted you to understand that the process of your tutorial is the same as mine, except one/two steps. That therefore there is no need to create yet one tutorial. However, with my tutorial, there is no need to change drivers, it works perfectly, except for black screen (JTAG request). So that's a duplicate, and if everyone does like you, it shod duplicates of duplicates of duplicates, etc.
Thanks
Follwed this how-to yesterday, and succeeded in bringing my 930 back to life. Many thanks to the authors.

Sent from Board Express on my Nokia Lumia 1020. Best phone ever!!
Note to noobs: DON'T PM ME WITH QUESTIONS. POST IN THE FORUMS. THAT'S WHAT THEY ARE HERE FOR!
This post is rather old. If your looking for windows 10 mobile on your device you can download the windows insider app here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/apps/windows-insider/9wzdncrfjbhk
Build 10240 was a leaked build with project Astoria. If you want the build you can download it but its pretty old.
When you first get to the home screen immediately turn on airplane mode. After that go into settings and check for an update. It should say no updates found. Now you can turn airplane mode off and download app updates. The reason you must do this is because the phone will try downloading a system update but never actually starts downloading. The pending update causes all the app updates to wait until the system update is done. But it wont ever be done.

Windows Phone Image Designer for flashing ROM https://mega.nz/#!k5I0zZLB!cIt5bD_qYMVuhGcfcUA9694BacLd2k1t_skydyvmnvM
Before flashing make sure you have a backup ffu. Flashing this ffu will change your product type so to revert back to normal you need to have a retail ffu file for your phone. If youve used the recovery tool before you should have a retail ffu file in C:>ProgramData>Microsoft>Packages.
DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE DONE TO YOUR PHONE.
WARNING: SOME PEOPLE HAVE BEEN GETTING A SECOND SIM ICON ON THEIR PHONES AFTER FLASHING THESE ROMS EVEN AFTER REVERTING BACK TO WINDOWS PHONE 8.1 USING THE WPRT OR A BACKUP FFU. THE ICON WILL NOT GO AWAY AND CURRENTLY THERE IS NOT A SOLUTION TO FIX IT. IT ONLY OCCURS ON SOME PHONES NOT ALL. YOU DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK
1. Download the ROM for your phone from the link above.
2.Download windows phone image designer from the link above.
3.Put your phone into UEFI mode by turning it off and then booting it while holding the VOLUME UP BUTTON. You should see a lightning bolt on your screen.
4.Plug your phone into your pc through Usb and open windows phone image designer. Select the x86 folder or the x64 folder depending on your version of windows.
5.Click on the Start.bat file and windows phone image designer will launch.
6.Once booted select "Flash a Windows Phone image onto your phone" and click next.
7. Your device should show up under flashable devices. Click on change and select the ROM you downloaded.
8. Hit "Flash" and wait for the program to finish flashing.
9. Once done your phone will reboot and you will have installed build 10240 on your device!
can you be more specific as in what way the "major improvements" are?
1. is store still slow and weird?
2. does slide down notification still weird, hit n miss kind a thing?
3. what about battery usage? improvement over 10166?
4. general stability, does it occasionally still restart? rarely but it happens i guess. and general responsiveness?
thanx for giving info

1. The store is a lot more fluid and loads pages faster. Downloads now seem to be smooth and free from errors.
2.slide down notification seems fine. No having to swipe down twice.
3.Battery usage overall seems the same as my lumia 640 when it had wp8.1 on it.
4.The general stability is great! Touch is very responsive and there are barely any "loading" screens when an app is launched.

I used a Lumia 640 LTE from T-Mobile. Its not a dual sim version but the rom is for a dual sim 640. It still works because both use the same software. The download above is not for the 640XL. Get the download link for the 640 XL above
I used windows phone image designer to flash the rom. Put the phone in ffu mode and your all set.

Any other links for the Lumia 640 Rom? I can not download from that site. Thanks.
anyone have a mirror for 640xl?
After i flashed my lumia 640 lte single sim I noticed the second sim icon. (makes sense cause I flashed the dual sim image)
But after flashing back to 8.1 with the original image the icon is still there.
any ideas why?
That's odd. Even after flashingg the dual sim ROM I never see the icon. When you plug your phone into WPRT does it still detect your phone as a dual sim variant?

No the phone is detected as single sim lte in the wprt.
I also tried installing the firmware again with wprt but the second icon is still there.

Could you upload a screenshot of your phones start screen? I'm not quite sure what icon you are referring too. There doesn't seem to be an icon on my phone.

NP Baked, the other files will be up soon...I had to use my internet for work during the day today.
Sooo, any idea what this 'blocking bug' is that Gabe Aul mentioned? Have you noticed any bugs at all?

No bugs I've noticed at all. Unless they were talking about a bug that blocks further build updates. I guess I'll find out when I try and update this build when the next insider build is released.
