Hi,
After successfully updating to the official Gingerbread for the U8800 I removed some bundled apps including the News & weather app.
I actually liked this app and other News aggrigators just aren't the same. I thought I had backed up properly but it looks like I didn't.
If someone can kindly either share their app or show me where I can download it from I would appreciate it.
I've tried looking for it on the Market even trying a few they had on offer (Pulse & News-Australia). Pulse sucks up too much power and the others I have tried just aren't as good.
Thanks
So i recently purchased the P8 lite as a substitute for my Z3 which is currently at Sony repair for a new display and I was very surprised about what I got for such a low price (169€ @mediamarkt). I always used Nova Launcher on my Z3 cuz I just really liked the UI of it and since Huawei UI isn't my cup of tea I decided to install Nova Launcher again. After manualy updating to Marshmallow (which is available as a beta) I wasn't able to set Nova as my default launcher. Since you're NEVER the only one with a problem on an android device, here is my contribution to our wonderful community!
It's actually quite easy...
1. Settings>Apps>Advanced>Default app settings>Launcher
2. Select your launcher!
If you use Google Now Launcher you need to have the Google App installed.
I faced this problem because my phone language was German and the translations aren't really appropriate.
For German people you can find the Setting here:
Einstellungen>Apps>Erweitert>Standard-App Einstellungen>Übersicht
I hope that this helps some people with the same device
A Thank you would be nice
Does anyone have a list or can we compile a list of apps and services we can uninstall or freeze with out negative consequences? I know people use different apps/methods to accomplish this, I.e. I use TiB, so any input would be fantastic!!!
I use TiBu as well....
Here's what I've froze with no issues:
ZTE SMS messenger
ZTE Email
ZTE Calendar
ZTE Music
I flashed the Pixel phone and froze the ZTE phone - not currently doing though, didn't really use the "Google" features of the Pixel dialer, plus I had issues with the contacts crashing when adding a name.
I read someone is freezing the ZTE Locker, which is the ZTE lockscreen, this gets replaced with the stock Androind lockscreen.

Hi, I froze anything but the dialer without any issues. I installed Swipe Dialer Pro, which looks and feels like the Resurrection Remix Dialer, and works pretty well. But I had to keep the MiFavor dialer, because it manages the contacts.
Any of the google apps, toolkit, and all its apps, touchpal keyboard and all its supporting files. All frozen for week, then removed after no problems.
So far:
Android live wallpaper, Ant Hal,ZTE Calculator, cloud print, zte email, play movies, hangouts, keep, live wallpaper picker, zte sms, sheets, slides, toolkit, zte locker all frozen with no issues
I'm fighting to fully remove ZTE Locker. reV17 pointed me to something else that has to be removed called huahualock. I found one file that was named like that, but it seemed to be some type of backup file.
Is there any app I can use to freeze apps if I am not rooted? Sort of like package disabler for Samsung phones?
You can freeze apps from miassistant.
Go into apps manager and freeze apps

Hello everyone. I was browsing apkmirror and downloaded the pixel launcher as well as the icons. I understand it is not supposed to work with this device (Verizon version). It appears to be working and I kind of like it. My problem is that it does not display all the icons for my apps. The only way it will do this is if I uninstall the app, then reinstall it. So my question is, is there anything I can do to fix this or no? Any help is great. Thank you. Also if there is a thread that already deals with this a link would be appreciated. Thanks!
Use Samsung themes pixel icons it should work fine with your launcher
You can use Nova launcher as well. You can customize it to you liking with more icon packs.

You have to disable secure folder. It was the same with the Note 7

It is because of secure folder and samsung knox. I have this issue on my S6 edge when I had knox installed.
Hi there,
I'm a happy owner of Mi 9T global variant and there's something bothering me since the MIUI 10. It's AOD, since the beginning of using it I struggle with getting notifications on it, only calls and messages seem to be working fine on it. Other notifications such as ones from snapchat, instagram and so on aren't working and being displayed on my screen. I just updated today to MIUI stable: 11.0.20 based on android 9. I got all those new fancy ways of displaying notifications but why do I need them when only couple of apps seem to be working properly with it ? Is there any way to fix that, are u also experiencing similar problems ? Kindest regards Con
