Looking to root, install custom recovery, and Deb debloated ROM. - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions & Answers

I saw a couple guides for rooting Android 6.x on my Vzw Ss7, but I want to update to Nougat and root, install a custom recovery, and install a debloated ROM. I'm used to the Nexus and Pixel devices, which don't seem to have near as much caution tape surrounding the process. Anyone know a good guide?

Well, there will be no custom recovery. You can check the root guide for nougat in this section. The only roms are 2 for MM and 1 hybrid for N in the vzw. Each of them have guides in their threads to get you through as well. Xposed and root are possible, but i would suggest tree nougat hybrid without root for the best experience and battery on nougat.

Very doubtful someone will guide you step by step, the general idea is to root your phone, install a custom recovery, then install a ROM, there are many guides on how to do this which are tried and tested.
Have a search, it's hard to miss them.

Ok which custom roms would you recommend. One that won't send my apps crashing and much more stable than the touchwiz

Downgrade your device if you're on a new firmware, use a firmware for your model, flash it via odin (there are plenty of tutorials) root using towel root and you have a rooted phone, the way I did it will void your warranty and knox will be set to 0x1, this happens when you flash something you shouldn't via odin, I flashed a custom recovery, bootloader and modem via odin so my counter is no longer 0x0, there is a way you can root, install a custom recovery and flash a rom, find the Neat Rom thread in android development, get everything you need from there and fire away.
Research and read everything, until you understand it, but the general idea is, root, recovery then rom, forget about original android development for now, concentrate on actually finding a rom that will work on your device, the most common is mine which is the 900f, you're on h so you need to find one that is compatible, don't leap in without guiding yourself first, check and double check.
Good luck.

As most custom roms are pre-rooted flashing a recovery with Odin will do and there is no need to root the device first , then make a nandroid backup of your current rom in recovery and flash the rom (and Gapps for CM) of your choice. Flashing a custom recovery/kernel may void warranty though as KNOX will be tripped to 0x1. As you have the G900H CM is not option atm. You could root the phone and freeze all not needed apps and widgets with Titanium Backup.

Basic root info for MHC19I

Hey everyone, just got a Nexus 6P today and it came with the latest image. Before I scour the forums, is there a link to a specific root for this firmware. Or do earlier methods still work?
Thanks
Well their are 2 ways now.
1. Traditional root which is what you know
2. Systemless root, the 'new' way
I've used both. The systemless root basically decompiles whatever kernel you have, patches it with root, then recompiles all in twrp. I think. Their both good.
When I was on stock ROM I used systemless root.
But I recently flashes resurrection remix and that uses traditional root.

That's def want I wanted to hear. Much thanks. I'm familiar with the systemless root since I'm pretty sure it's done like that with the Nexus 6 as well, which I had not too long ago. Probably will go with the stock and systemless.
Thanks again

CM based ROMs, such as crDroid, are already rooted. But root has to be activated from the developer options.
Alternatively, you can flash a SuperSU zip.

Any idea?
Thanks!

has anyone rooted the s7e running 7.0

Has any one root the T-Mobile s7e with it already on 7.0?
I have been looking but not sure . I tried to root with the method on here but I get stuck in a bootloop when it restarts after flashing the AP boot file in Odin I have tried several ways. I want to know also. I'm running 7.0 and g935t .
Yes been out for a few days, haven't tried myself yet.

Using ambasadii rom for few days and it works nice
Link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/development/android-nougat-7-0-beta-1-rom-test-t3498664
But you need custom recovery, and rom is debloated + rooted
Just get a custom recovery, disable encryption and flash latest SuperSU 2.79 or Magisk. All good
Am I missing something.....why are the people above me saying to put a custom revovery on tmobile variant.... afaik that's not possible.

I think that every exons proccesor (Europe) can be rooted.
But im not sure. I got my S7 from germany and its unlocked. No TMobile or other carrier.
Everything works good ?
T mobile is snapdragon. There is 7.0 root, it uses another engineering Bootloader
Right but there's no custom recovery, no custom kernel, no custom Rom, which is what the user was suggesting. Doesn't make sense. At least not for US variants.

OP, i thought was asking for root. Flashfire is basically our only recovery atm for usa hence locked bootloader.. no custom kernels but we can tweak kernel via kernel author. We have custom roms but it's TouchWiz based.(stang 5.0 rom is awesome) Still better then having nothing imo.. xposed+root apps+romcontrol+system write, makes sense and worthwhile for me.

Any AOSP ROM for the Exynos S8?

I really want to root and install a stock ROM on this and I was also wondering if there were one click root tools like there are for Nexus devices.

In answer to the name of the post, yes there is lineage os for the exynos variant but it is in alpha stage right now, calls aren't working and it might be a while till you get a daily driver.
As for one click root, I've never heard or come across any. Current methods of root include, using Odin to flash chainfires cf-autoroot, or flash twrp and install supersu or magisk.

Can you help direct me to some instructions? I've come from Nexus devices mostly and I remember them being very easy to root so I just don't wanna mess this up.
