I can't stand the 4x5 layout on the EMUI launcher it's a really poor use of space imo. On EMUI 4 you were able to go in hw_oem and edit some preferences and it worked. Huawei changed the Huawei Launcher Preferences path now and I cannot find it at all. Can anyone help?

Why not just download apex launcher? The tabs don't have those points on them.
If I'm not mistaken, those tabs are there because you have something set where it has your system apps then downloaded apps and favourite apps separately. Try going to Nova settings and checking if there's an option like that somewhere and disabling it, that should hopefully get rid of the tabs. The alternative is to get a different launcher because Apex isn't really much different to Nova and as the person above said it doesn't have those.
There is no option to remove those tabs, Only difference in the pro version is there blue instead of grey.
Stick with Apex more customizable then Nova
Hi Everyone,
Just updated my device to Nougat and I'm wondering if there is a trick or app to hide the navigation bar with the hide button like in EMUI 4.x

Tried EMUI 4.x tutorial on EMUI 5, unfortunately it doesn't work.
Hope someone will find a solution for that.
Thank you very much for your help
I think only ROOT will be helpful.

My device is already rooted. Couldn't find this line "ro.config.hw_touchplus_enabled=false" in build.prop file in EMUI 5. but available in EMUI 4.x

try to add the whole line into build.prop and change =false with =true.....however the touchplus.apk is incompatible with nougat....tried to restore it...I've found on play store alternative solution Hide System Bar (Full screen) app.
Perfect working https://youtu.be/RRu4B96yN6w

My ROM KangVIP B580
News?
Just use kangvip rom.then you can disable or hide it.
The best solution ever....for me it's better then a little arrow... look at here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-navigator-hiding-navigation-bar-t3344883
basically, you have always full screen and when you need navbar just swipe up from the bottom... brilliant!!!
For some reason Honor does not have any good way to easily browse and download themes for EMUI. This app called EMUI Theme Store and has the best selection of themes for the Honor 9. There's also a wallpaper section with a ton of great wallpapers to choose from.
Applying themes is easy and fast. The only thing that you might find a tad annoying is some pretty intrusive ads that show up frequently.

Download the EMUI Theme Store
For me the built-in theme store just works great, very fast Download and application of themes. Thank you still.

Yes, I lost functionality after decrypting "data" and factory reset. I have re-flashed complete firmware, NOT decrypted and rooted. Now it works fine.

Oh. I'm glad you got it back.
I also still prefer the standard theme store that comes with my honor 9.
The linked app is not really good. Tons of themes are double inserted and you cant change the view type so you have to scroll and scroll and scroll....
I have been searching all over the way for a way to change that in MiUI launcher, but never found a solution anymore. :crying:
It's a feature that we had in older MiUI versions but it somehow disappeared in V9.
if you're looking for the same thing, you're at the right place!
1- If you have the Themes app, skip to step 2. if you don't, just change your region ( temporarily ) to India.
2- open themes and search for 5x ( or 8x) and chose the first result and install it
Tadaa! now you have 5 ( or 8 ) columns on your home screen. if you don't like the theme (because i didn't):
3- just click on the right button down there and chose "customize theme" and change whatever you want (for me i changed the Icons) to the original or Limitless theme.
This way you will have the old theme but with more icons on home screen.
Sorry for being to detailed but just to make sure nobody does it wrong.
Enjoy your new launcher!

I know. Most custon ROMs have this option.
But i meant people who don't want to root or unlock their Bootloader
Could you please post the name of the theme? I don't get a bit if I put in 5x in the search bar.
Thanks

Hello,
The original buttons mapping is really terrible on stock rom.
I was searching for a way to modify them to something like on custom roms.
For example : double tap home starts a certain app.
The only app on playstore is not compatible.
The renovate ice mod is really bloated and I don't want to allow root access without knowing what it is doing.
Is there a way to edit the softkeys?

I didn't see any app mentioned. My bad.
Yes. It will work for non-rooted devices, just follow the adb commands, and you should be good.
