[Q] Verizon version capable of root?

So I've started researching the Note 3 as of recently as a replacement to my S4. What's got me worried is all the talk about how Verizon has taken extra steps to lock down the Note 3. I know the talk isn't anything new since Verizon has consistently tried locking down our phones without success, however is there anything new to cause concern over this phone in particular? Are we confident that the Note on Verizon will receive root with s-off? Not having root would definitely be a deal breaker so I'd like to nail down the facts before I pull the trigger. Also another side question, what is the version number for the Verizon version? Thanks for any help provided!

Found the answer to my second question. The Verizon version model number will be model SM-N9005

That's the same lte model that they are already rooting overseas. The criteria being the bootloader is unlocked. I'll be around to supply cheer and encouragement

Ive been trying to keep up with the note 3 forums when they opened and they are rooted and do have custom roms but the bootloader has to be unlocked just to even get root through odin. Verizon will def be locking it down. Hopefully wont be too long before a dev cracks it because I need root!!!!!!!

Bootloader is unlocked.. The first day I get my hands on it.. I have a tool that I have been using for the last 4 devices.. That unlocks the bootloader..
all verizon stuff..
-s3
-note 2
-s4
-tab 2 7.0
And I am sure it will work on the note 3 .. I have reached out to some high tech devs out here to help out on the recovery/rom .. Just waiting on some replys..

I'm just taking a stab in the dark here, but.... I own a Verizon Galaxy s4, and... we definitely don't have an unlocked boot-loader...

Guys. Please dont start in here.. thanks. Just fyi I have alot of people behind me in this project. I sent out the memo to them last night. How I am going to get the bootloader unlocked.. We are just waiting on the device to land in are lap. I had order 2 of them. To play with. The second one is there if the first one fails. Which I hope it don't. So just hang in there suzook. Please.

Right! We keep getting these ridiculous posts about "when will the the n3 be released" and crazy lies about the bl being unlocked already. People need to wake up and realize there IS NO UNLOCKED BL! If there was the s4 would have it. And another thing...its being released OCTOBER 10TH!

This is what pisses me off Suzook, I agree we have all been trolled and we all was hoping the 29th was the ship date. One of my best friends is a Verizon Corp manager and told me that Verizon was going to ship the phone out early so they wouldn't lose business to other carriers but there was some legal concerns about charging people cards earlier then what's posted on Verizon website. So they didn't sale early....
As for the guy saying he is going to unlock the bootloader he might be full of it and he might be telling the truth!!! There's 7+ billion people in this world, I'm sure it's possible that someone is either smart enough to crack it or has inside connections. Think about the S3, that was unlocked because someone leak an unlocked bootloader... Note 2 never received that leak, it was unlocked because Adam and Relake (I misspelled his name).
It's okay to be pessimistic, but lets see how this thing plays out instead of making rude comments. The rude comments serve no point and does nothing for the xda community.

Im not a pessimist, but a realist. Everyone needs to accept there is NO BL unlock. Why start rumors? Thats all they are without PROOF. All it does it make pointless threads.

Verizon rep is full of it. All it takes is a simple email saying you are going to be charged a week early or whatever and if you wish to wait till 10/10 please call such and such and boom done. It was never early everybody speculated there was no proof of early release. Let me go back to bestbuy where I was yesterday talking to inventory guys and Samsung rep with road map and had 10/10 so anybody saying before is a straight up liar.

Afrer the lawsuit between samsung and apple. Samsung has become "iSAMPPLE"
I spoke with a Samsung sales friend. He said. After the lawsuit samsung feels they will loss about 200+k samsung galaxy user. That offset is part of the lawsuit settlement.

Mannn I want an S7 soo bad but once again Samsung f***ing us over. No root, and the Exynos version has better battery and better performance, so disappointing that the US got the short end of the stick.

Looks like I picked the wrong time to jump ship from HTC....

To me no root is a huge deal breaker. Im returing this phone today and waiting for the LG G5 or the next Nexus. I have the nexus 6 and I love it other than than the broken charging port but I can deal with a broken charging port for multirom and the best support. This phone with stock android and by google would be one of the best phones ever!

Samsung, what you have done to the user community is unconscionable. Don't blame Apple, the carriers, or your mother-in-law. You have made a marketing decision to shut the US user community out from the ability to have phones that are configured the way the users want them. You can't claim support - the same user community has been rooting their Galaxy phones for years without causing you much grief.
I suspect we now know the *real* reason you went with two processor architectures. It's only the US-based community you are hurting.
I switched several years ago to Samsung, and have bought many devices for my organization in the past. I waited a year for the S7 to correct your stupidity in removing the SD card slot from the S6. I'm not waiting another year - or even another three months. I'm looking NOW for alternatives. We all know they are out there. Once I leave Samsung, it will then take, not a really good S8, but my new vendor doing something equally stupid to cause me to consider switching back.

All you can do is use the device and its capabilities in a stock manor or stock it back on T-Mobile shelves.
Its a bummer but not my bummer anymore ....I returned mine for a 742$ cash refund.And plan to move far away from Samsung devices.
Nexus is the next hope.Maybe htc if they can get the camera quality together.
Id suggest for the Die hard users to rally up and ditch it !
Someone higher up will get a clue when they see 1000s of new phone's sent back as refurbs within the first 2 weeks.

The OP should take his angst to Samsung and T-Mobile, not bring it to XDA--it will do no good here. The issue itself is being addressed constructively by the devs elsewhere.

Note 7 to Iphone 7 with Tmobile

this is just a little info i want to pass along that i learned from tmobile today. it's not meant to be an iphone vs. samsung thread.
i talked to a couple different reps today and they all told me the same thing. if you have a note 7 you can exchange it for an iphone 7 next friday. you cant do the pre-order because they would need to get the note 7 from you first before doing the iphone exchange. so you just take your note 7 into a tmobile store next friday and they will reimburse you for everything you paid for with the note 7 and you will even get your jump back. at that time you use the reimbursement to pay for the iphone 7 and use the jump that you just got back.
just wanted to pass along some info in case anyone else was wondering.

I'm pretty sure most people know this but thanks anyway. You can exchange it for any phone you want, no reason they would exclude the new iPhone. This is exactly what I plan on doing, I will be at the store at 10am on release day! Figured this is the best time for me to try out a iPhone, the timing is just to coincidental lol.

And, why downgrade to IPhone 7! Smh

That's your choice to make but just a small tip. Go to the store at 7:30 am on the release day. The stores here in New Jersey open early but they do not advertise it.

I work midnight shift and get off at 7am so ill swing by but I doubt they will open that early in Ga. Plus their are 3 T-Mobile corporate stores on the same street where I am so I'm sure I'll be able to get one on release day.

Let's use a little common sense when posting about an Iphone in a android based community. Honestly not many people in here would even care about that and to top it off why go to a phone that does less than what you have now. I know I know it blows up but you do know your chances of getting hit by a car are greater than your phone blowing up right now. I bet you still go outside and drive a car or get on a plane, etc..... Thinking about going back to iPhone as well. I shouldn't have to compromise settings just for this phone to work.
As an Android/Samsung Fanboy it's a damb shame to have to go through all this.
The 6s Plus NEVER gave me any problems. Even with 2gb of RAM, it NEVER lagged. Hell, the battery was hard to kill with heavy usage (4hrs of youtube background play, fb, text, browsing XDA, etc).
I'm trying to give Sammy a chance but damn.. hopefully the results of these replacements can change my mind.

I think better comparison would be driving and texting or being distracted by phone in general: the same people panicking about faulty batteries think nothing of using the phone while driving and I'm guilty as well, just glanced at the map to check traffic ahead, same time as the guy in front stand on breaks, I barely stopped without hitting him and I drive a lot with years of experience. Probably more than 500 people die each yr. because of phone distractions. My phone charging station is on marble table in kitchen for years (convenience of multiple outlets at above waste level), accidently right next to smoke detector. Most likely it would be non event for me even if it burned to crisp. I put my life in much bigger danger when I'm cooking, but that's another story. As a side note advice, for those interested to buy iphone7, get iphone 6 instead put the tape on headphone jack and viola, you got iphone 7, you can thank me later.

Just placed an order for the jet black and was told it would be shipping in NOV lol, so i don't know what ever comes first new Note 7, V20 or iphone

Considering that the Note 7 is the most expensive phone T Mobile sells, it seems obvious that you would be able to exchange it for ANY other phone they sell.

Doesn't matter. At least 99% of iPhone users put cases on them. I'm not even sure why apple offers different colors...

Thanks for the info, I've been trying to the same, got no help at the store, went through 4 phone reps who refused to do it, and finally one gave in and pre ordered them for us. Wish they would've told us that we can just go get them at the store on Friday. They're saying that the phone is already sold out and that be shipments would come out in October or November

yea your best bet is to go into the store and get one. my local tmobile is opening at 8am and handing out tickets in case there is a line. they dont know how many they will have in stock.
i enjoy the people the bringing nothing to topic but come in to post to complain about others talking about the iphone. you act like someone talked bad about your mom. in the OP i stated this isnt an iphone vs android topic. yet some peoples blind loyalism cant understand that there are people that like both. there probably isnt many people that would care but there are some and this info was for them. there are already some in this very thread that said thanks for the info. i could care less about the chances. it's a recall, as simple as that. and this is definitely the place for the info. this is a tmobile note 7 thread. i'm talking about the tmobile note 7 in an exchange. doesnt get any more relevant than that.

Note 7 to iPhone 7 in a Android based forum OK real relevant in a forum with 100 of thousands of users your 2 people that think it's useful makes your thread useful. here's a question for you. if it's not useful to you then why did you comment in the first place? doesnt matter if it was 2 people or 100, it was still useful. did my original post some how say something bad about you? did it affect your life in some negative way? i just dont see the reason for your post. you brought nothing to this thread except to complain about me making a post and then say your not bashing. might as well said i'm bashing but not bashing. who cares if it's about the iphone. it's just a phone man. it's not that serious in the grand scheme of life.

yes i made a post because i was passing on some harmless information that might be useful to anyone interested. lol. like i said it's not that serious. i'm not upset, but this community has been getting worse and worse with members attacking or down talking each other over petty stuff. it didnt used to be like that.

Develop ROOT for Zte ZMAX PRO Z981 T-mobile

So I have had this device for a few days and have tried every PC and apk one click method and to no success have I rooted this device. The hardware specs are fantastic for a device this affordable and I've never seen one like it for this price. If root could be developed, this would be a great device for developers to test root applications and test their Roms. The audio quality for wired headsets isnt very likeable and doesn't have very much increase. I would like to see a bootloader unlock. Custom kernel and a CyanogenMod 13 rom for this device and am willing to pay any developers who think they can crack the device 200$ over PayPal to get this device going! Pm me and drop some comments to tell me weather you think you can do it or not.

I'm sure theres a back door to unlock it. It's a T.mobile device normally there good about unlocked bootloaders but it appears it's ZTE not T.mobile so. If the note 4 gets the BL unlocked i'm sure it'll happen for the ZTE.

I'm looking forward to a bootloader unlock. I bought the phone off a buddy and can't wait to do some bootloader fooling around with it.
I made the mistake of updating to the latest ZTE update for the MetroPCS one but of course instantly disabled all the MetroPCS apps preloaded.

I think all hope is lost on this phone. The only solution now is to abamdon it altogether and not ever buy anything else from ZTE.

I just bought a zmax pro Mon.day for $30, by adding a line=$50/mo for 2 lines.
I can drop the 2nd service in a month and port my number to the ZTE later.
I also refused/discarded the OTA to B20, it's on B14 right now. Been playing with and liking this phone but time will tell how well it continues to behave.
Wait, you want to trade a $30 ZTE and get a $500 Samsung in return? That's funny

I mean, we have root. It's just a matter of getting secure boot out of our way. I would be more than happy to send you an invite to our server jcase if you want to know more... We could use someone with actual experience.

Lol this is an old thread but i just found a zmax pro on the side of the rode riding my fixie. Only zte phone i liked was the original zmax back in 2016 i think had that thing running lollipop custom rom. I see zte still makes it hard to root phones and modify what you want tho. Guess i could care less about profiting or even keeping this thing as a backup. Currently trying to get in touch with the owners wife and daughter in his contacts.

i change this garbage phone zte max pro 981 to galaxy s9 plus
and same problem the phone dont have any root really phone company in usa are garbage other country dont do any of that its just in usa
