Same!
When y'all are asking for a "[MOD]", does that mean you're looking for something you can flash with a recovery mod?
If yes, I know CyanogenMod adds this feature to the stock dialer. However, I don't know if that's something you can just extract the phone .apk and upload. However, if you're able to flash would you consider flashing a new ROM anyway? Most nightlies of the big roms (CM10.1, AOKP) are usually really stable on Nexus devices because they have all of the proper drivers & source for everything. Nightlies aren't as stable on other phones because they're missing device-specific drivers and such.
If no, then nevermind. I don't know of an option to add this ability to the stock dialer. Sorry.

Been using this since I got the phone. Skinable, no ads, and quick

A couple of the custom ROMs have this feature (Paranoid Android being one of them). You can either flash one of the ROMs that include it, or try to extract the dialer apk from it and try installing it.
I would prefer a new modded apk over a new rom. Anyone have the apk from cm10?

I need a ROM that is close to stock TouchWiz; default Samsung Kernel (need HDMI output support), Note 3 Camera, full S-Pen support, stock modem and such. Just need something fast, reliable and clean.
Ah...How nice it would be to have an AOSP ROM with stock camera, S-Pen support, multiwindow etc
Same here.. been looking for one too..

Well... flash the stock ROM with Odin, then root it. In case you don't want that...
Here, lads: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2649176 I used to flash different ROMs every 2-3 days, until one day I knew I wanted a stable ROM. And as f***ing ugly TouchWiz is, it's the real deal and Samsung took care it's stable. I tried first stock rooted, but it kept missing something, something I couldn't mod myself, because I am no dev. Then I found this ROM. Stable, and still with a tweak here and there. I'm using it with Lean kernel (3.9.3 works), and so far - no problems.
As for wishing that Samsung would release the source of the S-Pen and their camera... that's too much.
I for one use MultiX v2.0 it's based on 4.4.2 ROM with very little modifications regarding the interface.
I've got a better battery life with this ROM than with the original Rom + Root + XPosed (and Greenify), so there are some optimisations regarding that too.
It has all the standard features of TouchWiz/Note 3 and you can even select what apps to install (for example the samsung apps if you need/use them).
I haven't tested the HDMI output since i don't have a cable, but in theory it should work, the others stuff work as expected (S-Pen, GPS, Camera, ...)

With any custom ROM it's best to do a factory reset before installing the ROM, or you might end up with all kind of weird stuff. MultiX's Aroma installer also has options to do the wipes (factory reset) before it installs anything.
Make sure you follow the steps listed on the ROM's thread (this goes for all ROMs, not just MultiX), it will save you from a lot of trouble.
Oh, it's also not a bad idea to make backups of all the apps/data you have. If you have a custom recovery then it's also a good idea to make a complete backup from the recovery (make sure you have enough space on your phone or SD card, depending where you make the backup).
P.S. also make a backup of the EFS partition (multiX's aroma installer can do that too), just in case, you know the saying : "better safe than sorry"
(i've made EFS backups on all my phones, and i never had to use those backups in about 6 years of Android usage, but i still do them cause once i might just need it)
+1 for MultiX ROM. it looks better than stock TW (it had custom skins), it's as stable as stock but without the Samsung bloat and you can set a custom DPI while maintaining correctly sized stock apps.
By far, the best TW ROM!

TW Rom
CivZ FlexKat is very Cool and battery friendly without tons of modding's.
This rom is based on the Samsung 4.4.2 and won't contain heavy mods or themes, install what you want.
Super Fast and Famous Rom with lean kernel will be the best in my opinion.Your phone will fly..
I was told that there were 'a stack of custom roms' for the 4G!
So I came here (as it's the only place for anything Android) and find almost nothing!!
Are there not as many as I've been lead to believe, or have , somehow, I missed them?
Be good to know before I order one...
Thanks
Is there only one....
Is there only one custom ROM for Redmi Note LTE, the AOSP rom of Mokee. It's stable and smooth, with some malware apps, but freezable (not deleteable).
Try it, so good as possible.
Thanks.
I haven't ordered yet, I was going to today.
I'd planned to get the 4G due to the Snapdragon cpu, which I thought would give it the edge over the MTK version.
Am I right? or should just get the MTK version?

N910c user here with the latest 5.1.1 Firmware from SamMobile (N910CXXS2CPK1_N910COLB2COJ5_N910CXXU1COJ5).
Is it good/bad to flash an older ROM? A Custom ROM that based on an older firmware?
The device is currently on stock and rooted.
Mods: Please do delete/move this thread if there is a similar thread or wrong thread section.
Thanks!
Anyone?
Your questions are not easy to answer. It's all personal preference.
Some like ROMS that are as close to stock as possible, some like ROMs that are slim as possible, and don't have all the stock apps and want to install something else. Like a different messenger or launcher or email app.
Some like to have the latest and greatest on the phones or a Custom ROM that is based on another firmware. The problem there is most don't understand that the firmware was never built for their model of phone, so it won't always work right.

Oh... I see your point
Thanks for the answer!
By all means, I just want to debloat my stock n910c using a custom rom like SimplROM but it seems that I am out of the current release.

oh yes I just did that. I just don't have a concrete list of freezable apps for Note 4 so I am leaning on pre-made ROM if possible. I think I'll just do it on my own. Thanks, by the way

SimplROM Lite is about as slim as you can get. SimplROM is pretty good. There's a lot more dependencies then there used to be.
Take is slow and keep doing backups. If something breaks you can go back and bypass what you removed and move on.

If you have a good look on here somebody has posted a list of all bloatware removed from stock rom just be very careful when freezing or removing any apps highlighted in red as they are all the system apps
Great replies! Thanks!
I'll be listing my Titanium Back-up freezed apps here on weekend
Then I'll iterate it for updates as I freeze apps and go on my usual usage
I was wondering if this was a good phone to move to that would have a good way to install custom ROMs, or make it barebones on google apps. With mostly the playstore and whatever might be needed to run the phone. Install the ones i want and not any of the others.

You can do that with any phone that has development support and run a custom aosp rom and flash the most barebones gapps. Or you can even debloat the stock rom as long you know what you're doing. This phone has a variety of development so yes I would consider it a nice choice, but there are others you just really have to do your research on that.
If you want to get away from Google, you may try Hydrogen OS. It doesn't have Google components pre installed. But you can enable Google play easily. It does come with few Chinese apps preinstalled. You can uninstall 90% of them without root.
