Hi
I instaled the lastest firmware VNS-L31C432B161, but now need to revert back due to issues. Is this possible with the stock bootloader?
My Area code is now C900
thanks in advance
Download the rom you like and onstall it with the dload method
If you flash firmware VNS-L31C432B161 you can not return to any previous firmware that works ok...
You must have hope that Huawei launch another update that works ok again...

So it means once we flash B161 we can't downgrade (even with wipes ?) ?
Yes, it's corect. I realy want to hear from someone that can flash any firmware (less than B161)
after update to B161 (VNS-L21 or 31)...

That is not entirely true, you can install B160, which has the same problem ahah
But yeah, just hope for another firmware update from huawei..
Ok, starting from that 160 is less then 161, you have right...
But when i make update from B130 to B150 device updated ok, at version number is write right, B150 - this is ok.
But when i make update from B130 to B131 or from B150 to B151, version number is not changed at device properties...
Update procedure work ok, device restart, but version not changed...
I am curios in case of B160/B161 if firmware version is change...
What kind of bug do u have?

Install firmware finder and adjust setting to view last firmware
If it can't find nougat update , you can unlock bootloader and update via twrp method

I found the b563 fw but when i tried to update it it stopped at 1 % and the phone rebooted. What can cause the problem ?
Keep checking! Older firmwares have some small optimization to be done. So these guys r releasing slowly

On the firmware finder app, disable OTA, and you'll see that the ones that say FULL/OTA will disappear,
and the only FULL that shows up are the older (EMUI 4x) ones. At least that's what happens on
mine. L29C185B321
I just manage to update to b563 by first flash b211 using the dload method, and then i could update to b563 with firmware finder . Thanks for the help everybody !
Hi, recently I tried to upgrade my P9 lite to Nougat using Firmware Finder app. I downloaded and installed the B361 version but it was all buggy so I decided to do a rollback to MM. After doing the rollback I got a C900B160 version.
Is this C900 version a problem? Should I change it to C423?
Also, why was the B361 Nougat so buggy? Did I do something wrong?

if you flashed rollback package its ok to get that. just put marshmallow CxxxB161 ( Cxxx- means your number C432 C02 etc.. ) then with 3 buttons method flash marshmallow and you are good to go.

You need to flash oeminfo and custom.bin from fastboot .( Your bootloade needs to be unlocked. ) You can check huawei tool thread . There you will find what you need)
Greetings!
My phone had to be repaired last week, and the Huawei repair service changed everything in the phone except for the backplate.
However, I am now stuck with emui 4.1.2 in firmware VNS-L31 C432 B226, and i can't find a replacement firmware for the system.
The phone shows no update available in stock.
I have TWRP and magisk installed atm, just so i could try and get a different firmware with emui 5.1 or 5.0 at least, which I did to no avail.
Is there any way to find the correct firmware compatible with this phone?
Googling this firmware gives me no clues as to the correct path to updating this phone.
Should i use an adb/fastboot command prompt to update it, or use the dload method, or even the extract the SYSTEM.img from UPDATE.app method?
I just don't want to revert to an "earlier" version of the firmware with the dload method just to have my phone bricked.
These are the firmware i tried already:
[TO BE UPDATED]
TL/DR:
I have a Huawei P9 Lite repaired to a stock:
Firmware: VNS-L31 C432 B226
EMUI: 4.1.2
in Portugal.
I want to know a compatible firmware or series of firmware patches so i can get
Firmware: VNS-L31 C432 Bxxx
EMUI: 5.xx
Thank you for your time.
Hello,
it's strange that with an unbranded european firmware your phone didn't upgraded to android 7....
Anyhow i never done a forced upgrade but if i were you i wil try with HWOTA update, like explained in this thread.
So first make all your necessary backups, then unroot and finally follow the guide to upgrade.
P.S.: If your phone is dual sim try install B370, if single sim try with B371.
All the best

I tried a bunch of firmwares for emui 5.1 that didn't work, or which had NFC and bluetooth not working. I ended up downgrading to B160, and am now reupgrading to B370 after checking that both of the previously mentioned are working properly. I will update on this issue asap.
Also, it seems like the firmware I originally had was updated in march 2018, so it was really an updated official firmware with emui 4.1. What a weird setup. Could it be to make sure the NFC and bluetooth would be working? I just don't know...

I did it and it worked, however i flashed the recovery partition of version VNS-L31C432B380 with TWRP and now can't do a OTA update to B388.
Should I extract the recovery img from a b380 FULLOTA update and flash it to my recovery partition with fastboot?

Hey,
surely without stock recovery OTA updates won't work,
so yes try flash it with fastboot, then update to the latest/wanted firmware and finally unlock bootloader,
flash custom recovery and root (even if wanted).
Best regards
Hello. I have a WAS-LX2 4GB ram dual sim version and region code is C185.
I'm on the emui 5.1 b186 firmware after rolling back with hisuite a few months ago. I want to update it to oreo which is b360 but huawei software update on the phone and hisuite says latest version is already installed and on firmware finder for Huawei it says the firmware was likely removed from the server.
Is there any way to get the WAS-LX2 8.0.0.360(C185) firmware? It was 2.49GB if I remember correctly. Thanks.
