WifiOffDelayIfNotUsed wakelock always on (H918) - LG V20 Questions & Answers

Hey everyone, I'm getting a wakelock called WifiOffDelayIfNotUsed on my v20 running the stock 10i ROM on my H918. It stays on the entire time the device is on.
I tried disabling WiFi calling, that didn't work. I set WiFi to stay on during sleep, that also didn't work.
I tried this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54220240&postcount=17
but I was unable to deodex the wifi-service.jar/wifi-service.odex on the device.
Has anyone had this issue or know of a fix?
Thanks!

[Q] Error when turning on portable Wi-Fi hotspot

Why does there always keep being an error when I try to turn the portable hotspot on? It just says Error when I turn it on and stays off. It works again when I restart the phone. It's really annoying when I keep having to restart the phone every time I want to turn the portable WiFi hotspot on. What's causing this error and is it possible to fix without having to restart the phone?

Is this a carrier branded phone? I have the I9505G on AT&T and I can turn on and off the WiFi Hotspot without a problem (Even though I'm not paying for the plan, it must be skipping the entitlement check.)
My phone is a SIM free UK phone on 3's The One Plan that allows tethering. It just immediately disables the hotspot when I enable it and says Error when I go into the hotspot settings. Video: https://i.site647.com/SCR_20131005_161447.mp4
Did you managed to fix this?

Can you turn on WiFi only ? My Hotspot behaved exactly the same/
I could not do so either on a modified TW, but it turned out to be I flashed wrong kernel version. Flashed correct KT kernel and WiFi and hotspot came back.

No. I don't know whether or not it's an app I have or what that causes it to stop working until I restart the phone.

I don't have any problems with normal WiFi. It's just the hotspot that I have problems with. I am using rooted stock ROM and kernel. Android 4.2.2 and firmware build number JDQ39.I9505XXUBMGA

Maybe try wiping \system and reflashing the ROM. Only take a few minutes and may clear it up.
Very easy. You just have to turn on your mobile data before turning on the HotSpot, idk why does that happen, but I was really annoyed by that consequence before. I found a way and I hope it works for everyone too.
The solution that worked for me was
1. Turn on HotSPot
2. And then turn on Mobile Data
If mobile data is already on and then you try to turn on hotspot is when the error occurs.
I also have this problem on ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 non-root and non-modified. I have logcat reader installed on so I have so many logcat on this hotspot error (and hundred thousand of lines). I boot my phone on safe mode and the problem does not suffice so I made a conclusion that third party is the culprit and while also that may be the case, pie update might also the cause of it since I found bunch of system error on recovery mode.
Edit: The cause was on ASUS, they broke their root integrity with Pie update.

Meizu MX2 kernel wakelock

Hi,
pain-in-ass is "s5p-ehci" - it's active during whole night and my phone does not sleep at all!
Does anyone have idea how to get rid of this? How something related to USB can be involved in wakelock of unplugged phone??
There is no alternative kernel, otherwise I'd flash it already...
And neither I found any relevant info as to this wakelock issue.
p.s. Firmware is 3.4.5 HK. Please, do not suggest to re-flash again, it's silly, I wanna find the root of the problem.
UPD: I re-flashed with wipe. I uninstalled all user apps, turned off sync and location. I freezed google play and google framework. After several hours of doing fine the phone is getting possessed by s5p-ehci and does not sleep anymore...
DAMN!

Help needed! Phone stuck on WiFi turning on and wifi doesn't turn on

Hi everyone need some help with my sprint G2 LS980 model.
I was using cloudy G3 ROM 1.2 with Dorimanx kernel. I never used the wifi toggle in the status bar drop down menu, it was always ON since I installed the ROM, one fine day my brother used my phone for a day and thinking that keeping WiFi ON would drain more battery, he used the toggle. since then i started facing issues related to WiFi. when he tried turning it on later in the day, the toggle got unresponsive and then in settings, the WiFi button just said "turning on" forever. re-flashing the kernel helped once. WiFi turned on and it connected to already saved home network. but the next morning when I got up, rebooted the phone once and it was stuck at turning on.
For 2 days, I lived without any WiFi then during the weekend decided to try a few things to solve it. Initially using the wifi toggle was known to create issues in cloudy G3 1.2 so I flashed omni rom and also the 4.2.2(ZVA firmware) radio, everything worked except for wifi, there too it was stuck at turning ON. Later I flashed the ZVC tot file using the LG flash tool so phone was completely on stock 4.4.2 LG firmware but in that too WiFi is stuck at turning ON. Also factory reset after flashing tot didnt help. Also took the latest ZVD OTA and rooted again using ioroot but didn't help
any help will be appreciated guys!!
regards,
Vrishi
help anyone? can it be due to a loose connector for the wifi module/antenna on the motherboard?
help
bump guys!! any help???
Hi, did you find a solution for that issue???
im having the same one !

VS980 WiFi toggle turns on and off

The issue:
Wifi automatically turns off when it says "searching for networks", then turns on again and repeats the same thing over and over.
When it happened:
One day I was using Cloudy G2 3.3 when the wifi turned off. After that it didn't turn on properly and this problem kept occurring.
Attempted solutions:
Flashing a Marshmallow ROM, Flashing CloudyG2 3.3 5 times, and flashing xdabbeb's 39a stock rom. Every rom I tried ended up with the same issue.
Please, any suggestions would be helpful. I suspect a hardware issue but I'm not sure. How do I test the Wifi radio or whatever has the antenna? Any suggestions to fix the issue? Thanks in advance!
I have the same problem, my wifi does not turn on and I can not even move the toggle. It is stuck on turning on. I have not found a solution yet.

I wonder if we can somehow test the wifi radio to see if it's working.. I don't know

Wi-Fi not working and consuming large ammounts of battery

My asus zenfone 5 had Lolipop installed and had a bootloop problem. Every time it went to sleep it rebooted. Checking the logs I found out that it was a problem in the kernel while using the wifi state machine.
I flashed Kitkat 4.4.2 on it, no more bootloop but still no wifi. It is no problem to use mobile data for me as I have a plan that suits my needs. The problem now is that the phone consumes a ludicrous amount of battery. I'm guessing that in the background, the device tries and tries to turn on the wifi and what not but fails to do so.
I've searched for a way to permanently disable the wi-fi but every guide or tutorial to do so did not help me. The libs they suggested I deleted were not on the phone and the Build.prop another guide said to edit did not exist and the build.prop (notice the difference in casing in the name) did not have the wifi props.
How can I permanently disable the wifi?
