Hi everyone,
Got stuck with a silly problem and have no idea how to solve it.
So I have factory reset the phone through the fastboot => recovery and after the long boot up process, I was greeted with the Welcome screen and asked to choose the language.
All as normal.
However, when I tap on next, I see the next screen asking to choose the wifi network to connect to and activate the device however it seems like the wifi is off. The 'Add Network' line appears for a second and disappears right after (tapping on it does nothing), there is no networks on the screen, absolutely nothing. And of course the 'Next' button is grayed out.
Is there any chance I could skip the activation or enable the wifi?
I tried tapping the corners (no luck) so I'm kind of lost.
Factory rom, bootloader is locked and usb-debugging/factory oem lock are disabled.
Any ideas? Thanks.
p.s. phone is mine.

I had the same issue. If I remember right you need to flash the modem separate after you flash the ROM.

hey mate,
Thanks for the hint.
I'd love to unblock the bootloader but I haven't disabled the eom lock hence can't unblock it, can't flash anything either. USB debugging is disabled as well.
p.s. Ok, sometimes it's really worth going down from the clouds and looking under your feet. I was able to get through the wifi screen simply by putting the sim with the data enabled on it. Went through the reactivation right away, sorted.
However, the wifi is still off and can't be turned on. Could you please tell me a bit more about the modem flash? The usb debugging is on and oem lock is off, at last, so can do whatever I want, finally!

If you have no wifi then all you need to do is flash the correct modem (nonhols.bin) but if you haven't ever unlocked your bootloader then you should report this problem and get your phone to motorola service centre. In case you want to unlock and fix it by your own just find the correct firmware and reflaah the whole firmware.. keep searching for thread you'll find the whole methods step-by-step...
If it doesn't work.. bad luck
Just see when you are flashing you'll get an error after flashing modem. Just reflash the modem. It will definitely solve your problem.

Hey Guys
I have an S4 I9505 , Official ROM Lollipop 5.0.1 , Band Base I9505XXUHOE2
Version Number : DONGCHAO.A730
I have been looking for a solution of my problem since a week now, but nothing.
My Wi-Fi keep turning ON by itself sometimes, I tried to look for Connection Optimizer but it does not exist in Mobile Networks.
I also tried to uncheck all Wi-Fi Advanced Settings but nothing, Wi-Fi still keep turning ON by itself sometimes.
I tried a factory reset and removed all the apps but the same thing.
What should I do ? Is there a FIX flash for this problem ?
Thanks for your time.

Another method here but copied from another sites that I found recently.
1. Go to your phone dialer
2. Dial *#0011#
3. When you see the "ServiceMode" screen, press the left menu button
4. Select "WiFi"
5. See that "Wifi Power Save Mode" button that is "ON" - well turn it "OFF"
6. Exit this menu, turn off your Wifi and turn it back on. If you already entered all your wifi credentials, forget your network info (remove it) and re-enter it again.

I tried rooting my tmobile LG V20 and cant seem to get into TWRP. Every time i boot up it goes to screen that says
"your device software cannot be checked for corruption. Lock the bootloader"
then it boots to a white screen that says Encryption Unsuccessful with a reset button at the bottom. I am unable to get into twrp with the power and volume down button.

There is another thread around here that answers your problem. I had the same issue. Something along the lines of plug in phone and open command prompt with command : and reboot bootloader and reboot phone. When you see twrp booting and installing files hit enter and you should boot into twrp again.
I tried it about 35-40 times and failed. It finally worked after many tries. Look for the thread around here somewhere though.

Thank you for this tips, i Lock the bootloader and then Unlock it again as your command, and viola my phone back to life haha
The reason locking / unlocking your bootloader worked is because that formats data. If you would have formatted data in TWRP (NOT wipe -- FORMAT), then your problem would have been solved.
You got lucky, and OEM Unlock was still enabled in developer options. If it hadn't been, then you would have locked your bootloader and wouldn't have been able to unlock it.

Okay - I have this too now. I have a h910 that I just followed runningnak3d's dirty santa guide on. Been flashing all around the last 2 weeks - learning a lot along the way. But today I flashed back to stock 10r. I fomatted data in TWRP - typed yes etc and it just reboots to that. I went to TWRP and installed Alpha Omega Oreo - same error. Restored one of my backups of Lineage I get the same error. So what is the right way out of this problem?
KDZ back and follow your dirty santa guide to re/unlock the bootloader? (I sure hope Brian is still around reading these) Not to screw up the terminology - but if TWRP still boots as my recovery - doesn't that mean my bootloader is unlocked.?
Well - not sure what I was doing yesterday... But wiped all, format data and factory reset in TWRP this morning and flashed h910 10r and then Magisk v20.4 and it worked. Could it be as simple as forgetting to flash Magisk? Maybe that is all that was wrong?
Thanks for reading.
Well if you find yourself in this same sticky spot - check out this here
I flashed 2018-04-15 level and my restore worked without issue.
YMMV
Good Luck
I formatted data in twrp. No change
The correct answer is to downgrade twrp, at least only that fixed it for me.
Good morning everyone
I come here for I'm desperate.
I was using my Nexus 6P and it restarted and then went into bootloop in "Google" already tried to restore several times with the "Nexus Root Toolkit" but without success.
I do not know what to do I'm already terrified even though I do not have a warranty because I bought out of my country
Could someone please help me?
Sorry for the bad english if someone can help me I'm very grateful, because I do not know what to do and I do not understand much about it
Honestly if the phone went into a boot loop completely on its own and you weren't flashing anything it's probably the boot loop of death and there's nothing you can do. If you can get to the bootloader using the volume and power keys you can try flashing a full factory image--but that's only if you enabled OEM Unlocking and USB Debugging in the developers menu before the phone bootlooped. There are threads in XDA dedicated to the boot loop of death plus lots of posts like yours. It's a known problem that there is no solution to.

I think your phone is now an expensive paperweight. I've read lots of ideas people have come up with for getting out of the type of boot loop you are now in but I don't remember ever reading one that actually worked. Maybe someone can help you and I'm wrong but I seriously doubt it. Good luck.

As @jhs39 already told you, your phone is likely dead. If you have access to recovery, try sideloading the latest OTA from Google site. But if you only have bootloader access and flashing stock firmware doesn't fix your issue, it's dead...

I am on the same boat with my Nexus 6P bootlooping. The Nexus 6P went into bootloop during 7.1.2 update. The phone was bought from a Canadian carrier and was out of warranty by a few weeks. Both Huawei and Google refused to help and while courteous gave a lot of run around. Disappointed and helpless that a otherwise perfectly working and excellent device was turned into a expensive paper-weight and the vendors would not take responsibility
I was able to solve the problem on my device
1- I access bootloader on my device
2 - In the Nexus Toolkit I went to Advanced Utilities, fastboot format and fastboot erase.
3 - Back to start page I left it marked "Soft-Blicked / BOOTLOOP" and I used NUF26N http://prntscr.com/euczlb
4 - After completing the process the Nexus was in bootloop for 5 minutes and started normally.
I do not know if it was a divine miracle or if it was something that I did,

Hopefully someone can help me out here. I went through this process several times with the same issue, and unfortunately I got frustrated and started messing around. Not thinking I went into developer options and uncheck "allow OEM unlock," and forgot about it and rebooted. Now I can't get the phone to boot, but I can't flash unlock either. It will not boot into TWRP for some unknown reason as well, so at this point I don't see how I am going to fix this.

Do not try to lock the BL if you are not completely stock.
If you have TWRP or anything like Magisk installed do not lock the BL.
If something goes wrong, you have a brick.
only lock the BL if you are completely stock.

If your PC can recognize adb fastboot then just get the stock zip file from "back to stock" section here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3701681
I messed up too and back to stock was my only way.
Make sure under bootloader, if you type fastboot devices and is waiting for device, use
fastboot devices -i 0x2e17
If the PC recognize your device then, you can save from your bootloop

try reinstalling TWRP and flash LOS again, I think once you flash a different software the OEM UNLOCKING switch are not highlighted anymore(what I mean is you can't turn it off), if you can do fastboot, try doing fastboot -w and wait till it reboots.

Check any forum of a phone with an unlockable bootloader. You never ever relock the bootloader unless you are 100% completely stock. Once relocked with modified software there is nothing you can do to get it to boot.
Your only hope might be a deep flash cable and qpst if you can figure out how to use it.

Yeah it just continues to boot as normal, and then of course goes into the boot loop.
I cannot reflash twrp or any other room. Attempting to flash anything fails with the error cannot flash while locked. Same with using -w
Did you try the fastboot unlock command?

Just saw your post. Wonderful. Might be a good sticky on xda, I didn't see this on Reddit. Anyone want to buy a really expensive shiny brick?!
Hello,
After removing some "bloatware" with SD maid I rebooted my device but it doesn't show anything in display. It went a bit bright so I know that it's on but I can't see anything. Boot logo shows fine. If I want to turn off my device, I can see the turn off message clearly but nothing else. Lockscreen seems to be broken. My recovery isn't working because I worked on it a bit and forgot to restore the original one.
Adb ist not working because I have to authorize it but I can't access the screen.
I have an idea but I need some help from you guys.
Do you have any idea what I could try?
If there's only the Lockscreen which is broken, I could try to unlock it but I need distance from the side and top of the device to key '1' and '2' to enter my pin.
Thanks for reading!

So if I get this right, you can't access the recovery, and when you boot, it shows the Fire logo and then goes to the black screen. Is the volume panel working? And, adb devices returns unauthorized?
I may have a quick suggestion though,
Turn off the device.
Hold Power+Vol. Up
It should boot to Fastboot.
Then, do "fastboot reboot emergency"
When the tablet reboots, open a new command prompt, and repeatedly enter "adb shell", and post what happens?
Good luck!:good:

Fastboot doesn't seems to work. It's booting with Amazon logo then screen went black and it's again rebooting to normal os

But, I fixed one of my old devices in a similar issue. I didn't authorize it either, but nevertheless adb reboot commands worked?

Actually that sounds like worse than a hard brick. The tablet has everything and potential to work perfectly, but you are stuck because a couple of limitations. :crying:

No I have to authorize before I can reboot... Is there any way of restoring the recovery without adb?

If you're sure this is a lockscreen issue and you have a numeric PIN, try this:
-- Connect a USB keyboard via OTG
-- On the keyboard, do the following in sequence: Down-Arrow, Enter, type your PIN.
