Completely disable Recent apps - Sony Cross-Device General

I would like to complete disable Recent apps functionality.
How to do it on rooted and nonrooted phone.
What i need is once i close an app it shouldn't reside in recent apps.

There's a 'Don't keep activities' tile in the Developer Settings. It works the same way.

[Q] Hide Multiwindow Arrow but keep functionality

Hi, I am wondering if there is a way to keep the Multiwindow function on but hide the little tab that overlays on every screen. I know I can enable/disable miltiwindow in the notification toggles, but I would rather have it hidden and turned on. I have the Note 10.1 2014 and I much prefer the way they did that multiwindow where a swipe from the right opens it up and there is no tab overlay. Any apps/mods that will do this?
Also, is there a way to easily add all of my apps to the multiwindow list? I have MW apps manager but I still have to manually add each app to the list that is available, and I can not sort the apps by name which makes it a huge pain to find the app I want quickly. Thanks.

Hold down the back button to hide it, again to show it.
Search play store for multi window manager.

Disable Startup apps with no root

Any way to control apps at startup without root?
package disabler pro from the play store is your best bet.
I have it but this disable the whole app
I want to keep the app and stop it from running at startup
As far as I understood what you want to accomplish, your best bet is greenify. You will keep your apps, but you may choose the ones taht will get stopped. You won´t avoid them of starting with your phone, but you will be able to stop them with a swipe.
In my case, I had nova launcher configured so the swipe up is the shortcut to greenify sleep the apps and lock the screen.

How do we adjust Screen Overlay

I have a=found a few apps that throw up a window saying "Screen Overlay detected" and ask that the permission be changed in settings > apps. When I go there, I find a slider, but can't move it.
Does anyone know how to make this change?
Settings - apps - settings cog (configure apps) - Draw over other apps - down arrow - Apps with permission
Now disable/enable the permission for each app listed. Between disabling and enabling run the app you were having trouble with. If that didn't work disable for all apps that aren't Verizon, Google, or Moto. If that didn't work disable for all apps.

I removed Default Clock app...

So I have Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge (G935F) and I really dislike all the bloatware Samsung puts on their devices.
So I installed Custom ROM to get rid of it. More specifically I installed Efficient ROM which let me choose which apps i want to have on my phone.
Being sick of preinstalled apps I selected all of them to not be installed. Along with default Clock App.
Which at first didn't bother me at all since I could install Google Clock app from the Play Store.
But my problem started when I wanted to use alarm feature. Though app is very well adopted by the system (the alarm icon even appears on the AOD which I did not expect), when I clean all open apps
it also shuts down my clock app. Which is really bothering me since Alarm does not work when app is not running.
I could just leave clock app opened in the apps menu, but it's annoying since I usually close the apps I don't currently use.
So my question is: What can I do to keep Google Clock running in the Background when i close it from recent apps? I have in mind feature that, for example, Facebook app has; that keeps you updated on notification even when you close it.
And that I don't forget to mention... There isn't any option to set Google clock as a default app on the default apps menu in settings.
I really don't want to flash ROM again just because of the stupid clock so if there is any solution I will be very grateful to share it with me.
I would guess use a Root Explorer and change it from a user app to a system app. I'm a Samsung noob, though, so I could be wrong.

OK i figured out that if I disable xposed, app stays opened. Anyone else experienced that issue with having xposed installed? I also find out that it's preventing Hangouts and several other apps to run in background as well, so I can't get any notifications.
You could install xposed (if not already done) and download an app called App Settings. There you can set the app to be permanently running and/or hide it from the recent apps list.
Also, I don't think making it a system app will change anything as system apps, with a few exceptions, can also be closed from the recent apps just like user apps.
Edit: Just read you have xposed already installed. So just do as I said first, this way you can continue using xposed aswell as the clock app.

Questions for pixel experience

Hi,
i installed Exvolution X rom since last week. And it's a beautiful work.
I've two questions :
- it's possible to blur an app in recent view app ? (like MIUI) I like this feature
- my screen when is sleep (i think) so the lockscreen is black with time, weather, battery but not display google ambient mode while it is actived
- and auto kill after some delay apps in recent view app (but not the app that's lock)
Thanks in advance
For the third question:
You can't "kill" an app from recents. It's basically just a shortcut to the recently used apps. The system will manage the apps getting killed or not. Make sure that the battery optimizations are active(or inactive if you want to keep it) for the particular app.
