Its not a static wallpaper bro, its the "Infinity" live wallpaper in action, only found on the S8 atm

It doesn't seem like an ordinary LWP. Its integrated in the software between lockscreen, AOD and homescreen. But of course I hope it can be released as standalone for any device

Has the Z2 ditched the ''Blinds Effect'' Lockscreen from the Z/Z1 completely on the Z2? or is the option still there to use it? I thought it was one of the nicer lockscreen's about, shame if they have ditched it.
Ditched completely. There is a "glitter" effect now like in Playstation, and that's the only available option.

i only ask cuz on the Samsung Tab Pro 8.4 that i just got... I can't add widgets. I haven't been on a non stock/Nexus devices in years.

Are you sure? Have you went into settings>lock screen and ticked the "widgets" box or whatever it says. It could have been turned off
The wallpaper, no matter which one I apply gets dim, like there's a dark overlay on top of the wallpaper. At first I though it was an EMUI Launcher feature but no, the same thing happens in nova launcher as well. I googled it and just found one or two threads on it with no clear answer but it feels like it's something that's present in every Huawei phone working with EMUI.
So, does anyone here have the knowledge of how to get rid of it (other than rooting/flashing a custom rom) and if not then what's the process or system app of Huawei that's doing this? Also, doesn't it bother mass Huawei users?

Thanks for replying, are you sure about this? Look how the other people responded like they don't have any idea of this. Also recently I noticed that it happens to only some wallpaper, the system wallpapers that are pre-installed in emui don't get dim.
My wallpapers are bright and clear without any dark overlay.

Apply the theme "colorful" from built-in themes and post the screenshot, it's wallpaper gets dim for me, you can see it yourself

Does anyone know of any themes that would make a suitable replacement? I'm on a slightly older build of pure Nexus Android version is 7.1.1
I already have a navigation theme that I enjoy. The statusbar icons in mono are nice and simplistic.
Open to any and all recommendations though.
I'd prefer to stay away from paid themes, since this isn't the first time I've had a support issue.

MultiUI or Greyce are pretty good for me. I got sick of the "black" themes. My question, how is it that no one has made a grey matte theme?! Or even something similar to Suave back on CM9 AND CM10?! Man that theme was awesome!

Check out the theme called Compound by Daniel Schott. It's on my consideration list. It looks pretty good and has some nice grey. I really want a nice transparent one like liquid mono. I don't really like any solid color themes. I'm about to look at your recommendations now.

Loool!! Made a thread to find a theme, end up helping someone else find one they love! Works for me!
I just downloaded compound too. I'm digging it so far! Nearly everything seems themed. Still trying to figure out why a select few menus have white background though. Maybe it's just the style.

What rom are you on? I'm actually getting black font colour on grey UI. Was hoping there would be a distinction change to white font for those situations but he might not be done finding everything as yet.

I'm on a slightly older version of Pure Nexus. Most stuff seems consignee consistent. I had 80¢ from Google opinions, so I figured it was worth the small price. I'm happy with it, for the price I got it for.

Hi. I installed P beta, and in the display setting I saw the theme that can choose. There's light, dark and auto. Before locking back the bootloader the dark worked great. Now, after system was reset, dark mode doesn't seem to do anything. Quick settings is still white... Should I do something more?

It's still broken in the official release... what sort of idiot developers or QA people can't test and catch simple bugs like this?
It would take maybe an hour to test various android settings to make sure they were all functioning as expected.

Apparently some people have a hard time understanding wallpaper selection shouldn't effect anything unless you're on AUTO.
If you pick DARK or LIGHT it should default to that mode regardless of what your wallpaper is.

I've seen a lot of people having this same issues on Reddit.
It's working for me but my background is totally black.
Set the theme to dark and the restart the phone. That's how it started working on my phone.

This is an issue which has been present for months. Believe me my phone has been restarted multiple times since the first P Beta, up to and including there current release. Does nothing. Substratum themes also have zero effect. Magisk 16.74 here.
I found the fix! Flip the theme to dark theme in the settings and then install this all black wallpaper below. That will turn everything to the dark theme. Once everything is dark you can switch the wallpaper to any other wallpaper and it should stay in the dark theme. Hope this helps!

What I noticed about the dark theme is that it changes the pull down menu, app drawer, power button selection and volume. It does not change the settings menu, those all stay light. Very weird. It should be all or nothing. Come on Google, get it together!

Live wallpapers cannot be used if you want to trigger the dark theme. That's the reason why it's not working for many. Has to be a dark image.

Actually it's two steps back in display evolution (in hands with Apple). Maybe three.
I'm gonna skip this year's phones too and stay with the last good Samsung mobile that is the S7 (no edge)...

I took all six wallpapers and put them in a folder and am using Wallpaper Changer to rotate among them. (Why the workaround? I have an S7 (Snapdragon) - which has no Samsung One.) For some rather odd reason, I can't ad a folder to the default settings for my wallpaper rotation; Wallpaper Changer lets you do so.

The lockscreen wallpapers are kinda like LWPs. They tilt when you move the phone. I don't remember if static versions exist.
