Hi everyone!
I've got a problem : a friend's phone is stuck in bootloop. He so gave it to me to try something to get it back to life.
So, I do have access to recovery and download mode.
I first tried to factory reset it in recovery mode, but it didn't help...
I then went in download mode, and flashed the right firmware (for me) with Odin. All went well, Odin said ("PASS" ; "RES OK!!" " all threads completed. (succeed 1/failed 0)")
BUT, when I try to reboot, I'm still stuck in bootloop...
If someone could help me, I would really appreciate! Thanks!!
Have you flashed the right firmware for the device?

Hi, Thanks for the reply !
Yes, I'm sure about the FW, I live in France, and the right fw is the "XEF" one. I even tried other european multilanguages FW, but it doesn't work, still in bootloop...
I've got some errors about "corrupted data", if that can help. ("E:failed to mount /data (Invalid argument")
Thanks again...

The flash through Odin "seems" to go well, no error, the flashing process is ok..
BUT, after that, on the phone is written :
"Finding update package..

Formating /cache...
E: failed to mount /data
(Invalid argument)
E: copy_log_files_to_data

If that could help?! Thanks everybody!!

Try the method told in the first reply here. That is flash with pit and bootloader.

Thank you again for trying helping me!!
But, the download link of the thread you talked about is working, but when I try to download it, it says "404 not found"... That with a ton of pop-ups!
So, I'm still at the same stage..
The thing I don't understand, is that the flash goes well, says "PASS" or "RESET", but this only with Odin v3.07. And the phone is still in bootloop on the Samsung logo..
Any other Odin version I try, is stopping the flashing process at :
"<ID:0/004> Added!!
<OSM> Enter CS for MD5..
<OSM> Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..
<OSM> Please wait..
<OSM> Checking MD5 finished successfully..
<OSM> Leave CS..
<ID:0/004> Odin engine v(ID:3.1203)..
<ID:0/004> File analysis.. "
...and there it stops ... I can wait for hours, nothing happens.
Thanks for everybody help, would appreciate!

Hi, thanks for your help!!
So I did what you say, flashed .pit in Odin without issue, Odin saying "RESET".
Then I Reset odin, unplug cable, select firmware, plug cable again, and flash. Nothing better happened, Odin saying "PASS", but still stuck in bootloop...
As you said, I tried many many times, without result.
At the moment, Odin is even not recognising the phone in download mode!! (differents versions of Odin, on both Win7 and Wn10)...
PS I can acces recovery, and wiped all "hundreds" of times..
Always stuck in bootloop, even if odin said the flash was all right many times, even after flashing .pit, alone, or with firmware. And now, as I said, even Odin don't recognize the phone in download mode..... Strangly, it (Odin) DOES recognize the phone in recovery mode!! But flashing then is impossible.
Any other ideas guys?? Thank you very much!

So what I did too : I tried to install CWM (two different versions), but they didn't stuck when I try to reboot (even immediatly) into recovery...
I tried to install roms via CWM when just installed, without succes.
Then I finally got a working custom recovery that is TWRP 3.0.3-0, and this time it eventually stays! I was so happy... But...
I've tried many roms available, CM9.2-20161020-UNOFFICIAL-totoro.zip, it ended up with ERROR 7 written in red.
I tried too "[ROM]GT-S5360]SL V2.1]New Update.zip without error, but when I want to reboot, it saysd "NO OS Installed, bla bla"... The same happens with the rom VROMV1-NOTE7.zip etc etc...
Conclusion : I now have a working TWRP, but no rom is working.... Always stuck at "Samsung Galaxy Y Young GT-S5360"!
I begin to desesperate.... Thanks for your help anyway!!
With twrp working, go to advanced -> file manager and see what inside your / on your phone

To start I was coming from a HTC thunderbolt where I was flashing new roms every other day. To make a long story short a continuum fell in my lap so I sold my thunderbolt while I could still make some money on it.
So I decided to flash a rom on my continuum. I used one of the instructions here on xda, and in the middle of using odin my computer crashed. I tried reloading though odin but I get this error:
<ID:0/004> Added!!
<ID:0/004> Odin v.3 engine (ID:4)..
<ID:0/004> File analysis..
<ID:0/004> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/004> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
I have tried every .tar file out there, but get the same error message above.
So now my phone is stuck is a bootloop with the following upon booting:
lfs done open fail
--wiping data...
formatting fota...
FOTA WIPE FAILED
Formatting data...
FORMATTING DATA FAILED
Formatting Cache...
FORMATTING CACHE FAILED
Formatting DBDATA...
DB data wipe failed
It does this then reboots to the samsung logo and repeats.
I can get into the downloading menu by holding down the volume and power. But I can not get into recovery, it goes through the same boot loop process when I try.
Any help would be very appreciated as I am without a phone.

samsung devices are almost impossible to brick if u can get to download mode just get the stock dL17 and .pit files and flash them via odin once u do that youll be back to stock
This is actually a pretty easy fix, haha... I would try to flash just the original recovery with heimdall that is usually the solution for that problem

Rereading your post on android furums, it's looking like you never got into cwm to begin with. Get a fresh copy of the cwm_adrynalyne_test4.tar, make sure the update.zip is on the root of your sd card, as per the tutorial, and reflash the test4 with odin. Make sure that nothing is checked except pda and autoreboot.

If you can reboot in download mode, try to flash a stock rom with odin. it should work. that's how rom's must be flashed with odin, not in recovery mode.

do u have the drivers installed??? download a different stock firmware for your i9505.. and try two ,three firmwares if still failing,, you can get firmwares from http://www.samfirmware.com
and try to flash using Odin make sure your drivers are working also removing Kies if you have as it could interfere..
My device is currently stuck in a bootloop with:
"Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again"
I've loaded up Kies and it sees my phone is there and tries to connect but will sit there for a few minutes and then says that I need to reboot the device (this doesn't help either, same every time).
I'm unable to boot my phone in to recovery mode. However I am able to boot into download mode. So I've tried flashing root and/or CWM onto it but it fails each time. As does trying to flash stock firmware (or so I believe that's what "I9505XXUBMEA_I9505OXABMEA_I9505XXUBMEA_HOME.t ar" is).
I've searched and found some people suggesting that I try and flash a stock ROM through Odin, but unable to find one in a .tar or .tar.md5 format
I'm completely stuck now and unsure what to do. Can somebody please help me out.

Thanks mate. Trying a different copy of the stock FW now.
First: Yes i've tried Odin flashing stock rom, recovery and all the other things!
So from the beginning:
My phone unlocked itself in my pocket and some weird things happend (i don't know what).
When I took it out it said that my sd-card could be safely removed
Then it said it was coruppted (I checked it on my laptop and it wasn't)
Then it started to reboot, and suddenly got stuck in bootloop!
When I pulled out the battery and put that in again. it booted black screen with text in the left uppercorner with some things about not being able to boot because there's no XXXX partition and some other things I cant remember.
So I thought, let's try and flash stock rom on it, and did that. Flash failed with error (size) or something.
Then I thought, let's reboot into recovery (How dumb that I haven't thought of that before) When I tried it it just bootlooped trying to get into recovery everytime.
Flashed new recovery, Still the same problem.
Flashed stock rom of another country, It worked but after odin finished and rebooted my phone it tries to boot itself into recovery (bootloop)
So nothing worked...
Download mode says this:
Current binary: Samsung official
system status: custom
Reactivation lock(kk): off
knox warranty void 0x1 (4)
qualcomm secureboot: ENABLE (CSB)
rp swrev: s1, t1, r1, a1, p1
udc start
I really don't know what to do, can you guys please help me?
Thanks in advance.

Try to repartition your S5 with a pit file in Odin, maybe the filesystem is corrupt.

Download the pit fole for a G900F, load it as PIT in Odin, tick "Re-Partition", and start.

Must it be pit only? I tried pit file together with stock ROM but that didn't work
I would try it step by step, so pit only first.
Is there any error message in odin?
Flashed pit file, succesfull. No errors. Phone still stuck in bootloop
Try to flash pit file with your pda stock firmware, check repartition, and uncheck Auto reboot.
Start, wait until it says pass, unplug your phone, remove your battery, wait a minute or so, put it back in, and try to boot into recovery with vol up/home/power.
Important is, try to wipe your cache and do a factory reset then.

Have you tried the same with your recovery file?
If that fails again, the only idea i have at least is to check "nand erase all" checkbox in odin while flashing stock fw or recovery, try with and without pit and "re-partition", and without "autoreboot"
In some situations this fixed bootloops and steck bootloader issues.
At least you have nothing to loose...

when u say boots to recovery and bootloops, what do you mean exactly? like goes to recovery and immediately reboots?
can you screenshot exact error of odin when you use the pit and stock tar? also, i assume you have usb drivers and the right odin installed? try different usb ports/cables?

Nope v3.09 did not work, tried redownloaded stock rom, stock rom from another country, and all of them with pit file..
did u dl tar from sammobile or elsewhere?
I was L17(5.0) Dr Ketan's ROM. I had done all the flashing on TWRP.
Today when i tried to go to recovery, it landed on stock recovery and not TWRP.
And when rebooted the phone it constantly gave me error messages one by one that "Unfortunately, ... service has stopped"
My first question is TWRP won't work on android 5.0?
I tried flashing TWRP through odin but it failed and gave this error: Complete(Write) operation failed
Did i do something wrong?
All help will be appreciated.
Thanks
Edit: Now when i try to go to recovery/reboot it says firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Go to recovery in Kies
All i did was unsuccessfully tried to flash twrp/cwm.
I got the same error, when I was trying to flash TWRP2.8.3.0 via odin. I corrected issue by by trying to go back to download mode and flashing another recovery.. as I remember.
Please check whether you can go to download mode??

I can go to download mode but I'm unable to flash CWM also.. can you give the recovery which you flashed?
Good night guys, so there's my problem:
I was on DN 0.6.1 custom ROM, TWRP 3.0.2.0 and rooted. Today, i wanted to go back to stock ROM, so, I downloaded the stock firmware throught sammobile, and tried to install it throught ODIN 3.11, but it's stopped at system.img, and remained stuck in it for a long time. so i decided to restart the phone..
Then it's showed the follow message:
firmware upgrade encountered an issue note 4. Please select recovery mode on kies and try again.
So, i tried to re-flash throught ODIN, but stucked at system.img again, after it, I downloaded KIES and tried restore it, but it's stopped at 2%.
I wasn't abble to go to recovery mode, only download mode, so, i extracted the ROM file, and flashed only the boot.img through ODIN. Now it's boot to recovery...
I wiped data/cache, but the following error showed up:
E: Failed to mount system (invalid argument).
and now i can't find a solution for it.. tried to do amost anything that i could find on the internet, but none solved my problem...
I'm wanting to flash PIT + CSC + PDA file, using the repartition option on ODIN, but i'm afraid that may brick my phone for ever...
I'm following this tutorial by now: http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...te-4-pit-files-repartiton-f-g-c-t-w8-t3282641
And i need this CSC file, because my phone is the C version, could someone give me link to download it ? couldn't find in any place.
ANd there's someone who could help me ? i'm very concerned about it because i don't have money to buy another phone at the moment...
Thanks, and yes, already looked at XDA for a answer but couldn't fine any.
THANK YOU :good:
Anyone ?
