I know that deodexed rom can easyly be themed; But is that the only benefit of them? Is there any difference in performance betwen odex and dexodexed Rom?

Yes.

Yes. Odexed is faster. I've always had two SGS at my disposal. One with stock odexed ROM and stock kernel, and one which I have modified with all the latest "speed improvements". At one time, though, the deodexed "improved" one was almost as fast as the stock one.
Thank for your reply. I will go back to stock odexed rom with a costum kernel
There are also custom odexed now.. Simplicity, Milky's Mod ...
nice and faster than stock, Simplicity is using TW4, Milky's on modded TW3 if i'm not mistaken

You can look at my mods/explanations about ODEXED JVR ROM!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1196391
The .odex files are precompiled .dex files which must not be compiled by the dalvik-machine so they are faster. But if you want to modify anything its easier to to it on deodexed files!
But as you can see you can make also mods for ODEXED ROMs so if this MODs are enough for you, you run faster with odexed rom
yup some guys are just to lazy to make odex versions =)

Or they have got better at it and have moved to the next level. Either way, it's more choice for us.

I saw under SGS2 threads that there is an utility that can ODEX your DeODEXed ROM (you need a rooted terminal of course).
Is something like this that can be done for SGS1 as well?
Or in other words: is there a straight-foward (easy) way of odexing a rom.
I'm thinking that I can take my whole /system folder (or only /system/app and /system/framework) and odex them and create a CWM package to replace the existing deodexed files. The only issue is that I did not studied enough the odexing system. I have no idea what utilities will such action require.
Any help from the experienced users around here?
To convert back from deodexed to odexed is not so easy to do.
Some have done it with scripts, some do it in ADB or use programs to do it.
Android has a basic tool called dexopt-wrapper that can create a odex file from a apk or jar file. You still need the classes.dex to be deleted from the apk or jar file when returning to odex.
My experience with it is that it sometimes converts perfectly, but sometimes it does not. Especially converting themed framework files is very hard to convert back.
never had such problems =)

The stock rom is odexed .To use custom roms apps in stock you need to deodex it.Themes only work on deodex.

I know you use art, you have already post in another thread
replace the apk, rename the odex to .odex_bak(for save) and reboot
(or replace with the spiderio odex)
I think you can install xdabbeb camera mod first,
spiderio apk it's a xdabbeb apk mod to 380 (spiderio changelog)
don't forget to thanks spiderio for this apk
and if you have a quickwindows case, you can try my mod for 380dpi
---------------
Sorry for my Frenchy English
Cloudy ROMs are not 100% compatible with spiderio's even if you flash the patch from spiderio that adjust everything at 380dpi! you'll still either have a bootloop or a systemUI FC's! so if you do love 380dpi stuff just go for spiderio's ROM if not then just stick with the 480dpi!
cheers

I'm not the creator of these apps. All credit goes to Cyanogen Inc.
I've made an flashable zip that contains some essential apps which I miss on our OxygenOS.
This package contains the following apps from CyanogenMod ROM:
AudioFX (equalizer app)
GalleryNext (gallery app)
Eleven (music player app)
Instructions:
Boot into TWRP and flash cm-apps.R*.zip
Enjoy!
Download:
Android File Host
Also I'm opened to your suggestions so if you want other apps too, just tell me!
Sources:
AudioFX and GalleryNext apks were extracted from the official c-apps package and the Eleven apk was extracted from the Nexus 5's CyanogenMod ROM image (cm-12.1-20151118-NIGHTLY-hammerhead.zip)
Reserved.
Does it work?
I didn't mean to blame anyone , but i might no want to be stuck on a bootloop!?

So yes, as other users confirmed, it's safe to flash.
I also will upload soon only the apks for the users which doesn't want them as system apps.

This is my new thread for Miui 12 Bootanimation based in official images, clean and simple.
How to install:
1-- If you are root :
a) Manually:
With some root app like Root explorer, copy this zip into main memory and copy & paste to system/media, and replace the original one.
Apply permissions like attached image .
Reboot.
b) Install as a magisk module from Magisk app adding it.
Download it from here:
Simple : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Ro0cj_DpyW668y39eUdYVD-8GDAoFGaK/view
(Thanks @ogutolopes)
Coloured official with logo:https://drive.google.com/file/d/1QIBPWWw-_V2-brebXrYjUYre0dzp4zP_/view?usp=sharing[/URL]
That's all.
2. If you are NOT root ( and for root users too), you can install like a theme in the Themes app, importing the file
"MIUI 12 bootanimation.mtz" attached.
Hope you like it.

Great method for read-only devices!
Fun fact: You can modify this module with a custom bootanimation,
Simply extract the files, replace the "Bootanimetion" folders zip with your desired bootanimation,
Compress to ".zip" and flash it with magisk!
Works great, thanks!
