Need a battery charging time proof - Honor 8 Guides, News, & Discussion

Can anyone with FRD-L02 (Honor 8- India) post a proof of battery charging time for Honor 8 with stock 5v2A charger?
You can get charging details by using Accubattery app. It's a really good app to keep a record of your charging time and speed.
My phone takes 2 hours 35 mins to charge from 0-100. I just want to know if this is normal time taken for charging.
Accubattery app link:

Thank you.

Alok Bajaj,
Something it's not right.
With both stock HUAWEI H8 and NEXUS 10 charger (5V/2A) from 10% to 100% 1h30/40 MAX.

Yeah I know something is not right. But if someone can send me a proof of their phone charged from 0-100 or 10-100% with that Accubattery app, I would be really grateful. And so, I can show Honor guys proof of that.
Here's my charging session Btw..

Oh okay Thanks

From my experience it is corresponding with this extensive battery review while I am at B380 firmware. It's 2 hours 18 minutes so you are not really off the scale. Try to power it up while it's off to eliminate any software issues. Good luck.

I charged the phone after full reset and in airplane mode. I didn't even add my Google account to it. Software is as good as new.

Qualcomm confirmed it officially. Says it charges to 50% in 40 minutes btw.
i have the phone and yes it does.
I heard it supports it but for some reason they do not include the quick charger in the box.

I got mine through AT&T (so it's branded) and I'm pretty sure (I used it once to add juice before going out) that it charged extra quick. I'll test it today and see what's up. Will report back.

TronSmart QC2.0 Cert Charger
Guys,
I have the above charger and when my phone had 12% battery left, I connected charger and when in standby, the bar showed 1 and 40 min to fully charged. By the way, when tested with Ampere app it shows 2120 mA while charging. Does this sound correct when using QC2.0 Certified Charger?

The charger that came in the box quick charges. I got mine from my carrier, used the accessories from the box, and I get 1% to 100% in 1 hour and 30ish minutes.
I use a Samsung adapted fast charger from my Samsung s6 edge and it charges very quickly
does anyone know if there are any multiple usb - at least one QC 2.0 and maybe 2-4 "regular" usb ports chargers out there that are either UL Lister or CSA compliant?
thanks

This charger works fine. I use it every day.
To answer your question though: http://www.amazon.ca/Qualcomm-Certi...170571&sr=1-4&keywords=aukey+quick+charge+2.0
and
http://www.amazon.ca/Qualcomm-Certi...170571&sr=1-6&keywords=aukey+quick+charge+2.0
It suppose to support quick charge.
It has the slowest quick charge out of any QC 2.0 devices I've owned.
1.5 hours to reach 100 from 20%? that's not even close to something like LG G4 which uses the same chip and the battery is only 400mah larger on the priv.
It does support quick charge but it doesn't work right. For one, the quick charge time is slow compared to even older phones like the nexus 6. The other issue is that quick charging causes overheating which I suspect is why the phone charges so slow.

I hope it's a software issue and can be fixed with an update.

Once reboot your phone and give it in charge. If still it does not charges quickly then factory reset(if you are willing to do so) your phone and check it.
If still the problem remains just replace the product.
Yesterday I changed my phone from 14-100% in 1hr40mins.

No absolutely not. We are paying for that feature(fast charging). The reason is that if you use fast charger the device tends to heat(every device). To control excessive heat (45-50°C) the device stops fast charging and charges normally.
And due to surrounding temp the charge rate might differ by 10-15 mins. But in case of Moto G5+ the device temp remains around 40°C so device must charge quickly. I think their might be some software issue. I have check my device more and confirm it.

It's normal that full charge (0 to 100) takes like 1 hour and 40+ minutes with QC 3.0?
QC 3.0 didn't promise 50% in half an hour?
Something is not right here I guess..haha
From what I've heard I'm pretty sure it's QC2 actually.
It'd be interesting to see some comparisons by someone who already have a QC3-charger. See how much you'd gain by switching chargers.

I'm pretty sure it is QC3. I had mine plugged in for about 20 minutes this morning and went from 42% to 71%. That's pretty damn quick. I think it could do 50% in 30 minutes if you're starting from near 0%.
Its not a linear charge time from 0 to 100% though because it will slow down as you get closer to 100%.
This is a larger battery so I would imagine it would take longer to charge.

Buy a charger that doesn't support QC I suppose. Why though?
I'm a battery miser, lol. I'm inclined to think that reverting to normal charging earns me more cycles. This is mostly speculative though, so feel free to set me straight.

Nope, you're right, Quick Charge ruins battery on long terms, that's why with both my G5 and G6 i've always used my G2 charger 5V/1.8A, i use QC only if needed
Quick charge ruins batteries? Interesting. Where is the evidence to support this? I would rather charge slow of this is the case.

This is the most scientifically accurate article about it
http://www.desy.de/news/news_search/index_eng.html?openDirectAnchor=763
It's not that in 1 one month of quick charge you'll notice something, but if you plan to keep the device for years it may be a good idea to use it only when needed, it just accelerate the normal battery degradation.

Hmm I thought people already knew this, it's been established for a while https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2015/04/150414094117.htm
I never use QC unless I definitely need it, more for peace of mind than anything.
All the articles I've read say there is some degradation using fast charging but the effect is negligible for the most part. Still interesting enough and I mostly use wireless charging so I'm glad that will actually extended battery life. As happy as I am with this phone it'll probably be a keeper for the next few years unless the V30 is something extraordinary.

Skip the overpriced turbo charger which will not yield better performance on this device. Fastest uptake is around 1600mAh which is well within reach of any reasonable 10W charger. A few higher end devices support Quick/Turbo charging (including the G4/G4 Plus) which allows the battery to briefly accept a higher charge rate for a quick 15 min boost (say from 60-80%). Otherwise they perform the same as standard chargers. Score one for the marketing department if you buy in for G4 Play which technically has the hardware to handle turbo charging; however, by all accounts (and my observations) it is not enabled by Motorola...likely due to the run-of-the-mill battery in this device.

The battery once fully charged lasted the same amount of time for me with both the stock and the turbo charger, so no problems there.
