fingerprint support on custom rom - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone, i have recently grown tired of the issues i was having with Stock ROM on my 6p. Battery was terrible and cut off at 25-30% all the time
So i decided to try Lineage OS but didn't like it and then installed PureNexus which is a dream
My only issue is there are no options to set up and use the fingerprint scanner, any ideas?

Flashed the correct Vendor.img and radio.img and that fixed my issue

I had various issues every time I tried Pure Nexus but the fingerprint scanner not working was never one of them. You did a full wipe and clean install when you went from Lineage to Pure Nexus? Are you using a custom kernel or the one that comes with the Rom?

Dont forget to try Dirty Unicorns. you wont find them here. they are out of 'Dev-base' site. i left PN for DU,, weekly updates, smooth as silk, great battery.

Hello,
If you.flashed an april.2017 build, it's most likely based on N4F26U.
Find this vendor.img and flash it with fastboot or install it with TWRP.
Good luck...

[HELP] Problem with Custom ROMs

Good night guys,
first I want to apologize for my english, is not good at all,I'm posting here because I looked for help in some brazilian forums and nothing, so let me tell you me sad history.
Recently i bought a nice Moto X Style XT1572, so far nothing to complain, but i love rooting my device and installing custom roms, so i unlocked the bootloader and rooted my device, after this i tried
to install a nice custom rom (RR 5.70) and it installed fine, but when it start the SIM is not recognized and the Wi-Fi doesn't connect
I tried to install another modem, tried another roms and nothing, so I reinstalled the stock, which I'm using now.
There is something that I can do? Or someone to help?
If you guys need some more info about the device just ask.
So thank you anyway and again sorry about my english, promise I will finish my english course
bye guys.

Tried the AICP rom and the same problem :X
RR should work on dual sim xt1572 without issues. I guess its something to do with supersu (if u flashed supersu zip).
AICP also works well on xt1572. You can also try DU.
I have been saying from first and will say again , by far the best rom for Clark is BrokenOS.
Download latest from HERE.
They are only on G+ HERE.
WARNING : if you trying broken,do not post anything on xda, also do not post anything stupid in the community (and strictly follow rules there).
End of discussion on brokenOs too, cause xda does not allow that (anything related to brokenos )
Never heard of brokenos what is it?

I will try this BrokenOS. I tried DU, CM, RR, AICP, Mokee OS, the only ROM that worked on my device was the TruPure but it was showing the same SIM info for the two SIMs (I just use one SIM on my device), I think is something in the modem, don't know, I will keep trying until it work or someone knows some better solution, but thanks anyway ^^

Maybe they forgot to flash CM13 before when coming from cos12.1 or they have hardware issue in general or something the fp reader will have from time to time which can be solved by deleting some files or credentials. There's a fingerprint tread in zuk forum where you can read about those common issues, they ALL have nothing to do with rom.

Discussions on Dirty Unicorns Android 7.0 Builds

Hi,
I would like to share my thoughts on DU Android 7.0 test builds with you. I have been running DU 7.0 Test Builds on my Shamu for the last 3 days. Everything's working fine. Doze feature works well too. Best ROM for our Shamu. Good SOT.
Multi Window feature works seamlessly. They say it is a test build but for me this seems a stable and solid build. I suggest you try DU on your Shamu and share your thoughts here.
Thanks.
Update: If anyone having "SystemUI stopped" issue, please try DU 7.0 19/11/2016 build. It works well.

I am using OpenGapps 7.0 micro. It works well.
@Dhamukanna Dirty Unicorns is no longer to be discussed or posted about in XDA any longer, as far as I know.
The best ROM there is. I do flash the raven tech desolated kernel and its a great kernel. The one that comes with this ROM in impressive too. I would just like to see a theme engine on it for a little more customization
Installed it after reading your post, seems promising. DPI thing is impressive.
Just wondering why this was posted dev section?

I never had random reboot issues on DU.
Make sure you have latest bootloader and radio installed on your Shamu.
What Gapps did you use? I use Open Gapps 7.0 micro. No issues. Wipe everything except Internal storage. Install DU, Gapps and then reboot.
If the issue persists, please use previous dated open Gapps and let me know.

They are working on the Theme Engine stuff. Check DU's Google+ page.
I used the open nano gapps. 42R radio and bootloader should be the latest. it was driving me crazy so i had to wipe. will try again once some more features are added
The magpie substratum and biohazard are working well. Also vivid. Just FYI I also seen posts not to share test builds so I'm sorry if reporting working themes is a also a no go.

Most stable Custom ROM to date?

So I just upgraded from Moto X Play to Moto X Style and I was wondering, Other than the stock ROM, what is the most stable ROM right now? I'm thinking of jumping from stock ROM to custom ROM, can any of you give me an advice of which ROM should I flash?
Thanks in advance

Well if u say my suggestion then try rr nougat or give a shot to cm 14.1
I use aicp because cm14.1 has stopped the development and maintainer of that thread is currently merging through Lineageos which usually takes time (even lineageos is not out till now officially)
Cm 14.1 has multi window which aicp doesn't have but aicp is ahead of cm14.1 for weeklies
U try by ur own...
Du
AICP is very fast and very stable with most everything working well. My only issue is camera performance but I may be in the minority with that issue.

How bug free is it? How about the battery life? Do you get around 3-4 SOT with normal usage? This got me curious as i am also finding a great ROM to suit my needs.

I never had any problems at all, battery life is better than most 3rd part roms but not quite stock (Moto knows how to optimize a rom), about 3 hours or so over a full day.
Again, I'll say the same thing as others, try them out, it's easy to do.

BrokenOS devs don't allow links to be shared here...
How could you not find it with Google, just type BrokenOS and that's it and the first two results are the official Google+ group and their website called Dysfunctional ROMs... Easy from there.

If you're looking for a 7.1 ROM, try out dirty unicorns. They are not on XDA, but they have a Google+ page and a website with downloads for Clark. It is one of the most stable ROMS right know for this device. If you wanna stay on marshmallow I'm pretty sure Tru pure is still a great ROM, and you probably wouldn't wanna change.
I've gone back to stock with this device as every custom rom that I have tried has had some issue or another, making them unstable. The Brazilian stock nougat TWRP backup that is available on this forum is working surprisingly well on my device, an XT1572 being used in the UK.

None of the ROM'S do gestures as well as the stock gestures work, such as waving hand to wake the phone..etc..but they still work fairly well. Dirty unicorns also has the other moto gestures such as flip the phone to silence among others.
+1 for dirty unicorns. I'm running on their latest official release and its pretty good.
The latest build of stock 6.0.1 + Root + Xposed.
Stock... pure, untouched stock is the best for stability and speed, no doubt about it.
If you mean what CUSTOM rom is best, BrokenOS for MM or Dirty Unicorns for Nougat... Both are good, but neither one is as stable as stock.
