I'm using Lastpass for password management and when I come to a login for an app, Lastpass pops up with a list of matching saved passwords. After I select one, it populates the login, then a new prompt shows up with passwords, which don't match the app. I'm thinking it has something to do with the second screen. Anybody else seeing this?

I've been using Lastpass for months on my V20 with no problems.
LastPass tried printing me for the second screen at first too. You need to add an exception for it in the app's settings.

I tried adding Second Screen but that didn't work. I found that you have to add "LG System Server". That worked!

Hello,
When I use the facebook app come with HD2, I found that the app cannot remember my email and password even though I checked "Save Login" already. I need to enter them everytime when I run the apps.
Anyone faced similar problem? Any solution?
Thanks.
Edward
Close the app by hitting the X in the top right corner and never select log out/sign out.

Thanks a lot for your reply. However, actually I used X to close the program (although I use task manager to close the application instead of minimising it) instead of log out. I also noted that in the registry there is a key called "login" under facebook. However, everytime when I run the app, the program still asks me to enter username and password.
I am getting this problem also.
It all started after the phone cocked up opening an email from the sense viewer - I had to soft reset and after that the HD2 had lost all passwords, email acounts and Wi-Fi keys etc. Every thing is fine now I have re-entered the details apart from the facebook app?
I have tried re-installing facebook but that doesn't help.
I know most people recommend using the web version, but I quite like the app and this is a real pain in the ass to input password each time I use it
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks
Same problem over here. It happened to me yesterday while installing and de-installing some custom manilla cab's ( sorry, I can't recall which). I had to reinsert all my passwords but the facebook app is the only one keeping asking for the login info.
I appreciate if somebody come with any ideas. Really I don't want to hard reset my device.
Thanks
It doesn't happen to me at all. It didn't on my previous 3 wm phones. I don't know why you get this behavior.
Me too
I allso have this problem. My phone suddenly lost "all" settings, and now Facebook won't remember my credentials.
Me too!
Wont remember my login details?!
My phone has lost all settings today twice (wi-fi key, email settings etc), and still won't remember fb at all!
Would a hard reset be the best bet for resolving this?
No idea mate, but I hope not! Dont want to loose everything!
The same problem here. Any solutions ??
Same problem here, always requires username/pass everytime. Very frustrating
Unfortunatelly it is same here too
extremely annoying!
The solution for this has already been found. Install Omarket and search for the facebook app.

I was forced to change my password today due to 30 day timing on the email password.
So where in the Atrix do I change the gmail password? I tried, accounts, gmail but there is no password box/option in there.
Any ideas?
I'm not understanding: GMAIL doesn't force you to change passwords at thirty days.

Well I work for the largest company in the world that uses Gmail as it's email system. Therefore gmail has corporate requirements of password changes.
Not no matter that I need to change the password on my phone and I cannot find out where to do it. Any help?

Delete the account, and add it back up. Problem solved
"Therefore gmail has corporate requirements of password changes."
I understand now, but I think you mean "our corporate IP has requirements of password changes". GMAIL is incidental, their email policy probably applies to all email.
I poked around and saw no way to change passwords, that's odd. Before you try diablo's solution...Try changing the password, then accessing the account with the phone. It MIGHT be one of those invisible Google things, if the password is rejected I would expect the phone to ask you to confirm/re-enter the password. The same way that a lot of email clients do, when they get a "password rejected" messager from a mail server.
Or...ask the whiz kids in corporate IT.<G> I always figured if they're that concerned with security, they should ante up and buy RSA fobs for everyone. THAT's almost security. Passwords? Is it under your mouse pad, or your keyboard?<VBG>
if you use the actual gmail app on the phone, it should ask at some point when it tries to check.
Found this from some other forum:
I needed to change my gmail password for security reasons, but I knew this would mess with the G1 account too, since they use the same login info. I searched for a way to change/update the password on the phone and couldn't find it. So, on a whim I went to google.com/accounts on the browser, signed in, then clicked on "Change Password". After changing it successfully, I went back to the Home Screen on the phone, opened the GMail app, clicked on Menu, then Refresh. I got a sync error, but the notification gives an option to re-enter your password. I entered the new password, and voila, it worked.
Even the reasoning for this is pretty convincing:
i think they designed it like this so if you got your phone "stolen/lost" you HAVE a way to change your password via online rather than you phone cause obvious your phone is stolen/lost =D

I did this on my friends captivate and it worked. However there is no popup for a failed sync that allows you to update the password on the Atrix.
This is insane. Why would I be forced to delete an account and add bak to change a password.

Something is not right.
Look in ur 'status bar' or in the pull down notifications screen.
Are u sure sync ran? Try sending a test mail from a different account to this and see if it retrieves it properly. Reboot phone n see if the sync was using a cached connection.

This is insane. I tried synching in accounts and in gmail app as well. It fails but no option to reenter the password. Even google talk fails but only a retry option or a cancel option.
Since this is my master account I have to factory reset.
This just can't be right.

Wait. Try going to settings --> applications, and clear data for gmail, gmail storage, etc n see if that works.
I read horror stories about this but when I changed my password I was prompted. I forced a gmail sync which failed and it put an exclaimation mark in the notification bar which I dragged down and clicked. Prompted for a new password and then I was good to go. This was on a phone with Sense and 2.2
Only thing I would worry is if moto screwed it up but I doubt it.

Nope that didn't work either...
AT&T Can't figure it out
Motorola Andriod Level 1,2 & 3 can't figure it out
This is absolutely insane that you cannot change a gmail password. Can anyone else try it? You can always change yours back...I can't since I cannot reuse passwords for 180 days.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I really don't want to return the phone since I love it but I can't go through this every 30 days!

It worked fine for me. Got the little exclamation point notification, clicked, and entered my new password. Are you not getting that? Could it be some setting on your company's side? When you try and refresh your gmail app, does it just do nothing?

I have tried to sync in both the gmail app and sync in the accounts area in settings. Nothing really happens and definitely no notifications of failure in the app. When I try to sync in settings>accounts I get the following: Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly." That is next to a sync logo with the red exclamation point in it. That notification appears in the window at the bottom and not in the notification bar.
When I have cell access again I will change my personal gmail account and see if I get a notification.
Ok so a bit more movement on the topic. I do get the notification that asks for the new password on my personal gmail account. I do not get that notification for the corporate gmail account.
Any ideas now?
Well it is working now. Did a factory reset, setup account again. It was working, changed my corporate gmail password and this time on t he phone I got the notification.
Only difference was that I did not have it rooted at the time. Hopefully it doesn't happen again!
Just a question/warning. I'm on the latest ICS release with video and audio, just for reference. I randomly went into the People app today and right next to my Gmail address, it displayed my password. I was able to just edit the info and remove it, but it was still scary to see it out in the open for everyone to see.
Is this happening to anyone else? It could be an issue because anyone could just open the app and snag your password. What are all of you seeing?
Mine does NOT show my password.
Hi,
got my Z1 today, and I wanted to login in my google account. I use Two-Step-Authorization, but the device dont accept my app specific password. Is it impossible to use Two-Step-Authorization on CyanogenOS? What do I wrong? Thx for your help ...
Dave
of course not (can't use 2-step verification on Cyanogen OS)!
i have used it on the 1+1 and now the Z1
perhaps your verification code has expired?

sorry, I didnt understand exactly, is it possible or not to use an app specific password (two-step-verification) on cynogenOS? I tried it multiple times, the app specific passwords I tried can't be expired, i created it yet before. And what verification code do you mean?
I have some Nexus devices, and all of them I use with a app specific password for the main google account. But the Z1 didnt accept one. I did it by these steps:
- You generate it on the App passwords page (Sixteen letters (Example: ohgh uylv xkwd zgbz))
- You don’t have to remember it, because you can generate a new one anytime
- You’ll need it when you want to authorize a device, a mobile app (such as a Gmail app on your iPhone), or a desktop app (such as AdWords Editor) to connect to your Google Account
(support.google.com/accounts/answer/1070457?hl=en&ref_topic=1099588)
What do I wrong?
just download Google Authenticator from play store.

i used the app Share Where Pro to test for you just now.
(1) Installed Share Where Pro on my Z1
(2) on my Google security page https://security.google.com/settings/security/apppasswords i clicked on Select App, selected Other, entered 'Share Where', and hit Generate.
(3) then on my phone, i went into Share Where's settings where it required my Email address & Email password, and typed in my email AND the 16 character code Google gave me in step 2 above.
(4) i received an email from Google stating that app password created for 'Share Where', and on the same page in step 2 an additional entry for 'Share Where' can now be seen (with a Revoke button next to it)
so, like i said, no problem using 2-step verification on Z1.
sorry i don't know where you went wrong, perhaps someone could help you. cheers!
Hi xdakewie,
thank you for your efforts ... now I know, what you mean. Yes, I also think, that's working. But I want to authenticate the device, not an single app, with an app-specific password. During the first installation of the device or after an wipe you have to sign in in your google account, and there I want to use an app specific password. Without this sign in you can't do so much with the device, also you can't download any apps from play store. I use my Google Account on some other devices, but on all of them with another app-specific password, not with the main password of my google account. The "app specific password" should called as "app-or-device-specific-password". I hope, now I had better explain what I mean. And sorry for my bad english ...

with the login to your main google account on the device by an app-specific-password, not the main password? I don't speak about the verification keys from Google Authenticator or the login for single apps, but the login in your google account on first configuration of a device. This is working on your Z1 with an app-specific-password? Sure?

I have a question about the password auto-fill for apps and chrome browser websites. I have not spent enough time in oxygen os to know.
I usually used pixel-like roms and the passwords would just appear in the username and passwords areas and all i had to do was click next. An in some compatible apps it will just auto login bypassing the login screen i.e. Spotify.
On this rom though, when coming to a login page, the password and login fields are blank until i click on them. Then a prompt come up from the bottom the screen with an option to fill it in for me.
Is this just the way oxygen os handles passwords and if so is there a way to make it autofill like in pixels?
Or is something setup wrong in my phone? Thanks in advance.
Honestly, you're probably better off using a dedicated app to auto fill passwords instead of using the auto fill by Google or the rom. An app would be independent from the system and is generally a much safer alternative. Try something like KeepassDX, it has a dedicated keyboard to auto fill the password and supports fingerprint authentication. It's not exactly what you want but with the fingerprint and keyboard I feel like it could come close, but only a few extra steps. Then you wouldn't have to worry about the ROM bugging out while handling your passwords. Just an option if you can't get it working right.
Thank you for your input but i wasnt looking for a google replacement.
I was asking specifically about google's password autofill.
Im on the OnePlus 7 port ob9. It is the best 4om i have tried yet. But this password thing is having me do an extra 2 clicks every time i have to type .y password.

Open chrome browser, open menu upper right (the vertical dots) then Password section.
I guess apps using Chrome Webview or having a chromium based browser built in to display web pages will be able to handle passwords, if you use Android System Webview (default) and not another one.
passwords.google.com to see your recorded passwords and access to help pages. You can access this settings in system settings > accounts > 'your Google account' also
You're not on a Pixel phone, Google services integration in system is not the same. That's not an OOS matter but a 'non Pixel' matter.
So i found the solution. I just uninstalled all chrome updates so it reverted to the original chrome version the rom came with. Went to multiple login pages and the passwords and usernames autofilled just perfectly just like on all other roms. So i updated back to the latest chrome and the passwords still autofill properly.
Something must have messed up during chrome updates. Just haply to get my autofill working. Yah
