Which EMUI build has the best camera app for p8lite 2015? - P8lite Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I had B130 (5.0) when I bought this phone, now I have sokkobans B584 and the camera compared to Lollipop is just utter ****. Especially the video. The mic filters out way too many things and while zooming the camera tries to sharpen the pictures out making it even worse quality.
Whats your experience?

Newest one have the best camera, B894/5 next update will have improvements on camera, this is what I read...

KitKat Camera better than Lollipop?

I know this is an old topic, but i just re-flashed KitKat .ftf file today (C6903_14.6.A.0.368_TW.ftf, because i lost root along the custom ROM-flashing madness ), and i noticed that the Camera on the KitKat firmware is so much smoother and faster than on stock Lollipop, and so much much better the custom 6.0 ROMs for that matter (albeit they suffer from a known Camera problem). Now that i'm flashing back to stock 5.1.1, does anyone know how to optimize the camera app? It just seems a little unfair that the camera on 4.4.4 gives you such a better experience than the one on 5.1.1.
P.S: I have unlocked the bootloader, but the Kitkat Camera app is unaffected.
Lollipop is better
yeah, it would seem LP camera works better in lowlight. i'm trying the Camera app on Kryptonian ROM, which is ported from Xperia X, btw.
I will try to make this quick and clear: Since the battery change for my Z1 the rear glass didnt get well glued, so the flash light interfere with the camera, the pictures taken with flash were very ugly, so every picture i take, i make it without flash, and i dont know how neither why but the camera takes light from nowhere and it gives to me very clear pictures, like if you have a lightbulb in front, i have very clear pictures, i must say that i am using a custom rom (mx rom 8.5)

I had this problem too and I removed the back glass, I washed the camera and the glass and then I glued it with glass glue. Now it is perfect
Kitkat camera viewfinder is much smoother than Lollipop. I didn't notice any other difference but that was the most obvious one. Thankfully there's a nice mod here that makes the viewfinder crazy fast again in Lollipop so there. Anyway, I cleaned up my lens with a small amount of toothpaste, and everything went better, shots were more clear, no more blurs, etc.
MX ROM camera vs Snapchat camera. There are a huge difference

In my case, only when i am in a very low light condition, but when the light is good, the pictures taken are not the best but they are good

Mate 8 camera performance on nougat?

Hello everyone, I'm a hairs breadth from ordering a mate 8 as my Christmas present to myself but I have a question before I do.
Having (possibly) read all the reviews there are for this phone I can see people often grumbling about the camera quality. Now I'm sure that as it is it'll be at least as good as the one on my LG G PRO 2, but my query is this. Now that several people have nougat installed, is the camera better than it was on marshmallow? Would it be possible for people to try replicating pics from before the update but on nougat now to post their thoughts?
I'm likely to order one tonight either way, but I'm sure this would be of interest to buyers who have put it off until now.

I've been taking photos since I was a kid in the 60's. In the early 80's, I was into film SLR's. In the early 2000's, I switched to dSLR.
I'm kind of picky. Using the default camera app, it's "ok", but if you switch to Camera FV-5, you'll have a lot more control over the
sensitivity of the camera sensor.
Under normal lighting conditions, it's not a bad camera, but you have to take into consideration, the sensor is still tens of times
SMALLER than even a APS-C camera sensor, as are all phone sensors.
signal to noise ratio, crosstalk, it's just hard to get around, when you pack megapixels worth of sensors, on such a small substrate.
Great suggestion on the camera app - I think I've seen it suggested elsewhere too. I was really wondering if anyone who has updated their phone to 7 on the betas had noticed an improvement in the camera app, but as it should be with me in about ten days and the official update should be fairly close I'll be able to make comparisons myself!

Sort of in the same spot you were. Looking at this phone and wondering if the camera performance has improved with the update to 7 and EMUI 5.0. Did you get the phone or find out anything?

I've got it, and the camera is indeed better than on my previous LG G PRO 2. I just did a shoot-out with a Pixel this morning looking through the office window and I have to say that there wasn't a huge amount of difference from what i could see on screen.. Hopefully I have managed to upload a stock Mate 8 camera shot and the same taken with the Pixel. There is more detail in the Pixel shot, but not enough to not be happy with the Mate. As to what will happen with the camera capabilities once on Nougat, I have no idea, but I'm happy with the results i'm getting at the moment! The Pixel shot is darker, but that maybe due to it having hdr+ on and the light balance difference from aiming higher into the sky.

Thanks for the comparison! That's very encouraging. I'll be looking forward to any updates with the camera software with the upgrade to EMUI 5.0 and Nougat.
Maybe next update (EMUI 5.0 and Nougat) bring to us some improvements from Mate 9 camera.
"Aside from the latest security patch, the update also includes several other changes, including 10x digital zoom option in the camera as well as some performance related improvements."

With latest Nougat (I'm not sure whether it was there before or not), it allows to save raw pictures (in pro mode).
I know camera is 1000% much better than on emui 4.1 on 4.0 is good but on Nougat is really good

Camera Quality

Hi, Just a query about the camera on Note 3.
I once owned a sony, And rooting and flashing broke camera quality unless ya backed up the TA partition first, Ive noticed since flashing my Note 3 with darkwolf rom and also flashing the camera mod available, ie, S7 camera, the quality isnt what i would expect, Low light conditions its pretty poor to be honest.
So i was wondering, Is there any info on the Note 3 camera that i should know, ie, does flashing custom roms break quality, is stock camera better than the available mods etc etc, because i did own a galaxy s4 once upon a time, and the camera quality on that was a lot better than this note 3 camera, as a test i installed the LENOVO supercamera and instantly noticed an improvement in quality, tho still really poor in low light, or am i expecting too much from it, because even the camera on my Iphone 5s, 8mp, takes a a better picture.
Anyone any advice?, is there a good camera mod available to really improve the situation or should i go back to stock camera?

Camera quality on official Nougat?

Simple question, how's the photo quality after updating to Nougat? I'm kinda disappointed with the camera on this device, photos look "plastic", smeared and lacking detail (and the camera tends to skyrocket ISO even in not-so-dark conditions, compared to my old LG G3 which was able to stay on low ISO much more often). I heard some whispers that photo quality gets better after updating to 7.0, true or not? Can anyone provide any photo samples?
Interested to learn more on this issue myself.

Le Pro 3 Camera Quality on Lineage OS 14.1

How is the quality of pictures on Lineage OS 14.1?
Do you have samles? Original files for me?
Thank you.
In my opinion, it's worse than the stock one.
I am not so sure but i think that every nougat has more or less the same quality in photos which i find it to be little worse than stock but not that noticable.
I also use open camera.
i thought nougat will bring better camera performance? Why is it a step back?

because leeco used propietary camera app, nougat is stock camera app, there are a few threads showing results with different camera apps , but they are with sotck based roms.
But camera can be improved with next updates in lineage OS?
Isn't there an HTC camera port that contains HTC libraries so it can render pretty good pictures?
Dont know??
I have a question. I am using OniRom and as I see I cannot use HDR in any app. It either doesn't show that option at all or even if it shows it (only in omnirom default camera) photos are definitively not in HDR. Does anyone know reason or solution for this?
Its horrible.
Doesn't the Pro 3 use a Sony IMX298 sensor, same as the OnePlus 3? Not a flagship camera but it shouldn't be too bad, no?
