My phone's screen stopped working after it fell, not turning on, but glass is not broken.
Also, when i press the power button, it vibrates occasionally.
I'd like to know if my phone can be rma'd and how do i do it.

Hello there guys!
Recently my M2 power button stopped working, there is no click whatsoever. I checked it up and it seems that the small metal piece fell somewhere inside the phone. I found this dissasembly video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUXSmlwUC9Q
Now here is my question : it looks like while dissasembling you are ripping the phone apart, is there any permanent damage when trying to dissasemble? I could do it by myself, pasting the metal piece inside but I m a bit concerned about damaging the phone.
Thanks
Strange Milestone 2 power button problem
Hi, I have a strange problem in the power button too, but it's very rare (may be rare just for me)
The thing is that the power button suddenly stops working. If i take off the battery and put it again the phone boots without pressing the power button, and it still not working. Then after some time, it suddenly starts working perfect there is no need to press it stronger then normal.
I can't find out any patterns in this behavior. Another strange thing that happens is that sometimes the button works intermittently and delayed. Example: I do a long press of the power button and nothing happen, then the shutdown dialog shows 2 seconds after. And some times (the most) it doesn't
I'm a little bit confused about it, any ideas?
I've new info: i can't get into bootloader mode (the phone turns on but i get a black screen with no text)
Think I am getting the same power button problem now. How did your repair go?
Same problem here now, dunno if its really related to the power button or something
completely different is going to break down soon.
I will try to replace the whole flex cable with the buttons, but shipping needs some weeks.
So my nexus 4's glass screen shattered today and also the digitiser broke. The lcd still works and the rest of the phone seems to be fine.
Anyway, for some reason the phone is automatically restarting after I hold the power button for 10 secs to force power off. Also the phone boots fine into lollipop and with what little part of the digitiser that works I can access the notification bar and go into settings meaning its operating ok as far as I know.
I have no clue how to diagnose what's causing this, please help!!!
Thanks in advance

Holding the power button causes a reboot, not power-off.
Hold the power button for 20 to 30 second. The Google logo will pop up once, keep holding the button and it should turn off after that.

Hello, I hope this is the right forum for my question, sorry if I made a mistake. Anyway, my uncle bought this phone month ago in another country, everything worked fine until yesterday when LCD stopped working. After some time of trying to fix it, we concluded that if you press volume (up, down or both at the same time) button and then the power button, screen turns on and works for some time (couple minutes) but then goes black again. If you just press power button (without pressing volume button) it stays black but you can still hear it unlocks when you slide your finger across the screen, so touch screen works, phone works but LCD is black. I am guessing it's loosing connection but how does it turn on every time when I press volume button? It's very confusing. Phone was in a protective case since first day and it hasn't been dropped. Since it's bought in another country, it would cost more to return it there than to buy new one, so do you have any ideas? I have been replacing lcd screens for my friends last two years so I was thinking maybe I can disassemble it and check connections. Any help? sorry for my bad english

Hello there, I'm from Brazil, as my english may not be the best lol... So I have same phone as you and similar problem... The problem is that volume down doesn't work. Other buttons work fine though. Also, the phone always enters in safe mode, so I assumed the volume down button is being pressed all the time. Except that, I realized that I could enter in download mode (I tested, if I don't press volume down in the combo 'power button + home + volume down' it won't get into download) and if I press volume down to cancel it will actually cancel and restart the phone. So the button is working... Here is the part where I think the problem is similar. There was a time I turned the phone off, through the system as we normally do, and then it wouldn't turn on again. I realized it was actually turning on, but the screen was black. I tried entering download mode and tested on odin and it actually had entered download mode, but the screen was black... Then after several attempts it finally got back on again... So I think there is something related with the button circuit with the lcd, I don't know. I would like to know if you got to any solution there. I guess that instead of bringing you any solution I'm bringing another problem lol. Well if I have any other information I will post it here. Best wishes.
Hello, recently I damaged the screen on my s8 where the screen wouldn't turn on and no input would work, so I figured it was the LCD and digitizer that needed replacing. I've replaced those parts, and the touch works now but the screen never turns on. I turn the phone on and see the blue notification light that turns on when the Samsung boot logo comes up, but can't see the boot logo itself. I can unlock the phone because I've memorized the pattern/placement and I can hear the volume change sounds when I adjust the volume.
I've tried cleaning the PCB contacts, holding the volume down + power button, holding volume up + power + bixby, and I've changed the battery and verified it works. Anybody know what could be the cause? Faulty screen? The company I bought it from is asking me to send it back to verify if the screen is faulty, by I'd rather not go through that trouble if the problem is with my motherboard or something. Although, because everything else works, it does lead me to believe the screen itself is bad?
When I turn the phone on the screen lights up for about a half a second and show the logo. The phone fully boots and all buttons work. When I push the power button to turn the screen on it does the same thing. I can see that its at the home screen. There is no water damage and the phone hasn't been dropped. Sometimes I can get it to boot up with the screen working right. Is this a common problem? What is the cause of this, bad screen, mainboard, software?
Thanks
