Hi,
Well, now that we've (almost) got Froyo on our Galaxy 3s (i5800/i5801), do you think now would be a proper time to get something done to port CyanogenMod to it? I dunno why exactly it hasn't been done yet, looking at the popularity of the phone. We can request the CM developers/maintainers to port it or if someone is willing to do it themselves, that'll be good.

good idea - I've red today an article about the new release and improvements in it. Would be great
well ask this question cyanogen's forum. Hopefully they will take note.
Else one of us will have to take initiative and ask them for help
see here: hxxp://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/6711-samsung-galaxy-3-gt-i5800/
Well, that thread's been there since the 12th of September, and I don't think anyone has noticed it yet. What I think we should do is that one of us should PM any of the mods on the CM Board, and then they'll do something about it.

Have you done this? Any replies? CyanogenMod would be really cool
Umm, I haven't approached them yet, I will soon, as soon as I get my phone. Till then anyone who's a member in the CM Forums should PM them.
Guys, please keep in mind that the cyanogen team can not do a port to a phone they do not own, so there are two possibilities,
start porting ourselves, like the Galaxy S comunity did
ask the devs if one would consider porting if he gets a "fundraised" SG3 and if so start a bounty...
We can try porting it ourselves. I'm in. I'll do as much as I can. I have some experience in coding. Anyone else who wants to help can join. I will search their wiki and ask them instructions on how to port CM to G3.
The fundraiser method can also be done, unfortunately, I can't donate much. If others can, then we can do something.
You can't port it yet: Samsung haven't yet deliver the source for 2.6.32 kernels. They suck.
Is it the same kernel used in Android 2.2? If that's so, we should have it soon. 2.2 on G3 is on its way, and it should be on Samsung OSP soon.
Can anyone tell. ..wat are bugs in leaked froyo for g3...???

Hello forum i thought i would let you guys know that im moving forward to the Nexus 7. If your getting one im sure i will be making roms for this tablet to, so not to worry. If not i will continue to help develop my rom, and continue helping to update it.
For now im planning on leaving my thread and letting powerpoint45 take over. He's a really talented person that know alot about these things, im leaving you guys with someone i trust, to continue to push forward updates and many more features for you guys. Me and him have been talking for a long, i think i have enough confidence in order for him to continue with my rom.
If you are worrying about my app Glazed Mods, i personally will be continuing to support it, i will have some testers in order for me to continue pushing forward new mods and cool tweaks.
It was really nice being here in this forum, but we all have to move on someday. And that time has come for me to move on, thanks guys, you all have been such great support and a big thanks to my donaters, who kindly helped me in having future development.
You probably won't notice a big difference with me gone, since the rom will continue living and the app to. You can expect everything to be moved to powerpoint45 new thread on my rom by friday, i got to give him all the nescessary tools and items in order for him to continue making this rom a possibility.
A big Thank You From Me, And a Big Goodbye to.

Hi OmniRom Devs,
I just want to ask, how the plans look like to offer the great OmniRom for the coming Android L Release?
Do you have already a timeline etc.?
Thanks and kind regards,
Chris

Initial release on Bloomsday 2015, final stable release Dismember 2016.
Pray tell me, how dafuq do you expect anyone to give you any information on the timeline when nobody has seen the L sauce code, mainly because it hasn't been yet released?
You think that Omni team is clairvoyant or something?
God must love intellectually challenged people, he created so many of them.

Thanks for the friendly answer.
As I'm not a developer and have no glue how it works with android but I like OmniRom very much, I asked myself what's the strategy of this rom.
I don't want to be a stupid user - I want to understand also the backgrounds.

Also, this question has been answered before.
And as you hinted, "we won't have the slightest clue until AOSP source drops, and we have no idea when that will happen"
Absolute earliest for more news is November 3 - but sometimes AOSP source can take 1-2 weeks or more after the first OTAs start rolling out.
We won't have any clue how much work is going to be needed until the source drops. But I expect that this integration cycle is going to be a ***** - LOTS is changing. We'll pretty much have to redo UI/UX stuff for example. Kinda reminds me of when ICS first dropped.

The question is that when are we getting MIUI n Flyme OS roms for our device??
We get a rom when a dev picks it up.
Development has to take place. It's a lot of work to get a rom up and running, and there is NO benefit to do so, other than to keep a few people who may use it happy. your best bet is to contact someone who develops it for another Moto/Lenovo phone, and see if they are aware there is some interest in it for the G5+.
sadly, stomping your feet going "Where is my Rom" has never gotten anyone anything...
Bro many Devs read these threads so I posted here! Dont be aggressive!
Are we short mods this weekend or something? Man alive
With plethora of 8.1 rom out here and no significant difference upcoming (no offence), can some one please port MIUI for a1 ?
Kindly do not reply with ,, do yourself or something non helpful.
No.
I'm just gonna go ahead and ask you why didn't you buy a MIUI device from the start if you like it, like Mi 5x. Porting is a lot of work and requires much time from someone to dedicate, i'm sure it might be a possibility in the future but in more of a sideproject way for someone here, but if and only if they wish to experiment with something like that and have the time. MiA1 is an AOSP device and it's focus is on stock roms, that the whole idea behind Android One anyway, if anything we should be excited about android P when it arrives!
Why?
People Come here for Other Ports of ROM than MIUI for near stock experience and while you are already getting stock OS you are whining for MIUI? Why? You could have gone for MI 5X or Redmi note 4 if its not available in your country.

If you want people to show you respect, earn it by not starting another thread about something that has been discussed in several topics already. Add to those discussions instead. (You aren't newto XDA so you should be aware there are search functions)
Another pointless thread. Reported.
